I hate to leave bad reviews but I was just very upset by my experience here. While I understand that you might get hit with the file or drill once or twice, the lady working on my nails was very rough with me. She kept hitting my skin and I have multiple spots on my hands that are hurting badly. When she was just about done, the lady informed me that she had a bad encounter with a customer beforehand, in which I finally understood why she was being rough with me - but that's no excuse. Me and my friend went together and they only had one person doing acrylic so we had to take turns but they were so kind about it. The quality is really good I got a fill and they are super sturdy. I barely was massaged and the whole process was okay. But when she told me my total was $60.00, I immediately wasn't ever going to come back. I'm so sorry, but to add on an additional $20.00 for gel polish is absolutely INSANE. I'm not sure if this is everywhere in buffalo, as i just moved here and haven't been to any other salon, but that is absolutely outrageous to me. So beware!! I don't get my nails done often and am not overly well versed in what I need to ask for when I get a manicure. I usually show a picture or pick a color and shape, etc. I did the same thing at this salon and while the nail tech got the color and shape right, she did nothing to my cuticles to clean them up or any type of manicure. The manager said you have to specify that and that it's an extra charge. I assumed that when you get your nails done, they always do this. I wish that when I came in with completely trashed cuticles and asked to have my nails done, they asked if I wanted a manicure as an upcharge to the nails/polish or otherwise specified that a set of nails does not include the basic cuticle cleanup, etc. The nails themselves are pretty disappointing and have a lot of areas where I wish they were cleaner. The absolute worst pedicure I have ever experienced. The woman did not speak any English. I told her I wanted the same polish on that I had. She had to get someone to interpret. She proceeded to gouge cuticles without allowing enough soak time. The water was not warm and she did not understand my asking for it to be changed. by the time I was halfway through this torturous event, I told her I would not be getting my manicure. She forgot to use the hot towel until I was ready to get up from the chair. She put in the rubber toe divider things upside down. As a began to walk out it rubbed off the polish. I started going back to the salon back in October and it was great to be back after COVID. The salon is super clean and they follow the guidelines. All staffs are wearing masks and there is a shield between the employee and customer. It wasn't busy when I went on the weekdays but i know it's busier on the weekends. I went for the gel French tip and I loved it. The owner was the one who did my nails and she did a great job. She would ask if I wanted my white tips to be thick or thin and the base color can be chosen which I chose pink but I know they have the grayish base. Also last time I had to soak off a dip and they would not touch my nails they had me soak in acetone for 30 minutes and told me I had to keep rubbing my nails on a paper towel until all the dip was off. I found this place maybe about 4 years or so ago, I'd say. Now, I end up bumping into someone I know there almost every time I go. I keep coming back, not mainly for the service, but of how funny these people are! They are just so chill, and make getting your nails done a really fun time. The owners are there open to close every single day, and remember you by name. They will greet you by name when you first walk in, to the minute you leave. They have even recognized my mother and my husband and have told me about it, even though we have come in at separate times! My husband to buy me gift certificates of course (and we have the same last name) and my mother since we look so much alike. They accept walk-ins only, however, they move super fast. I usually dig all of my pedicures or manicures, there just happens to be that one not-so-great nail artist once in awhile. You can request who you'd like to do your nails for you, though. They will give you a pop (soda) or water with any type of pedicure and they have candy all over. The worst experience I had there was actually the week of my wedding a little over 3 years ago. I called ahead asking to make an appointment for 5-6 people, but I was told they don't take appointments (I just found out last year, they if you tell them it's a bachelorette that they actually CAN reserve the place just for you). I had a few friends come with me at 5pm, and I was seated for a pedicure probably an hour later. They still took so many people before me. For a pedicure, manicure and an eyebrow wax, I ended up being there until AFTER close which at the time I believe it was about 9pm. Yes there is typically a longer wait than other nail salons but there's a good reason for it; it's worth it!! The owners Twee and her husband Vito kindly greet every customer that comes in. If you've come in more than once before, Twee is probably going to remember you by name. I don't know how she does it but I think it's a great touch and makes everyone feel welcome. They will talk/joke with customers and their staff which make for a fun environment. The staff is always very friendly as well. Everyone does great work! I try to come every few weeks to get a gel polish. Twee and Vito are who will apply the gel polish and it always lasts 2 weeks or more for me. No chipping or peeling. I often get pedicures too which are always great. The atmosphere here is fun, inviting, clean (never has that strong smell nail salons typically do), fair prices, and quality work. This is the best salon in its class, especially in the Tonawanda area. I have never received a better long lasting gel manicure in my life. The artists are absolute perfectionists, and absolutely kind and fun to be around. I am looking down at my nails that would typically be a chipped mess right now, and there is not a single flaw or sign of wear. I do TONS of dishes and my gel never lasts longer than a week, and my nails today a week later look like I just got them on. Because every regular knows that this is the best manicure around, the place is packed at all times of day. They do not take appointments because they do not want to deal with unhappy clients due to customer volume, and I don't blame them. I came mid-day and was in and out within an hour. They help you select your color based on a description of what you like, and they match you with a type of gel depending on what your nail behavior is. I really wanted to like this place since it's so close to home but, sadly I really wasn't happy with the service I received. I would like to say the lady who performed the deluxe pedicure was nice in nature but, unfortunately she didn't do a very good job. I walked into find that the place was packed and appreciated that they seated me right away. Seemed like a lot of people came for the acrylic services but, not as much for the pedicures. I did like that they used plastic covers for the spa seats, I can't deal when sanitation is not a priority. I specifically ordered the deluxe spa pedicure $35 over the regular for $25 because of the callus treatment that was advertised. It's been a while since my last pedicure and I just took exams so the extra pampering was much needed. I noticed that when the callus gel was applied, my feet were not wrapped up as they usually when I've gotten this treatment at any other nail salon. But I think l, was really got me was the fact that there was no callus removal whatsoever. She used a pumice stone to rub the callus, something very basic in treatment. My feet were still rock hard when she was done, so I pointed out that she missed very key spots and requested that she do it again. She complied with the request, but again the callus remained. I also was not very happy with the application of the mud mask as well as the massage that was advertised. All services were just low in effort and I would not recommend getting the upgraded deluxe or nu spa pedicure treatments. In fact if you want a pedicure, might want to go somewhere else. On the bright side, I think they might be better with Acrylics judging from the crowd. I'm sad to say I walked out feeling like nothing was done when I normally have baby soft feet for a week after a pedicure. read more

The woman who runs the place is hoot, greeting customers, doing nails, barking out instructions in her native tongue to her staff. This place runs like a well oiled machine. I think the only legitimate complaint someone could make is that Nail Studio & Spa is always busy. If your glass is half full, that's a great thing: returning customers, quality work. I purposely try to come on off-hours and it's less busy. Normally I wait about 5 min or less to get my eyebrows done, occasionally if I can only make a Friday afternoon or Saturday morning I might wait 15-20 minutes. Still worth it. Services I get: Anywhere else I go to get my eyebrows waxed gives my skin a reaction for about 2 weeks, this is the only place I've found that doesn't do that! I don't know what it is but I love it haha. I've also gotten my nails done here (once): gel french manicure. They did a better job than other select locations I've tried. Most of my friends come here regularly. Customer service: AMAZING. That's what makes this place stand out (& the quality of their work). The second time I walked in the manager said "Chels!! How's it going?" and ever since greets me by name (and all of her clients... impressive memory). The manager was the valedictorian of her high school class (we have conversations every time I come) and she came from Vietnam when she was younger. Second time, I went I got the same tech and she was nothing but a great person with a great personality and always asked me what she could do for me and if I liked my nails which I appreciated. She takes the time to get to know her customers, their names, and always is giving suggestions on nail designs. We went a while ago and I forgot to write a review I was recommended this place. My mom has me do her bailed because a few toes have been damaged and the nail grows thick. I was told this place way great so I dragged her butt there! We were never offered a drink or anything like others have stated In their reviews... oh well. We were already hydrated. We were sat 10-15 minutes apart. My mother sat down first. Then me. I was "done" before her. I'm not gonna lie, it felt rushed and jipped. She asked for her nails to be trimmed but they were still super long I had to trim them when we got home. Love this nail salon. The owners know you by name after the second time you've been there and it feels very personal. They do great jobs on my gels every time and have a smooth system in place to get you in and out as fast as possible even during rush times. Typically takes ~2 hours for a gel manicure during rush hours. Soak off takes ~30 mins with buffing and a cut down after. That's just my experience but I'll keep coming back! Thanks! read more
