I walked back out...how is a regular pedicure 33 with regular nails polish but you charge 43 for gel like I dodnt already pay nail polish and should just pay I crease for gel...I stead u charge me that and then 2 dollars each additional nail for different type paint...a manicure was 16 dollars but to do gel was 33 so 17 dollars more for gel makes no sense as thats more than 2 dollars per nail...said mani and pedi with regular polish is 49 but to do gel I have to pay separate prices pf 33 and 43 being 76 meaing to add gel is 27 dollars for 10 nails when u already paid regular paint and should just be increased....the man got frustrated with me asking how differences work and did t want to be bothered as he knew its a rip off and didn't sound right...I walked out read more

Came in today for a walk-in pedicure with my friend and we were greeted right away. Friendly staff, great service and a nice selection of services. The basic pedicure was great, and the massage was wonderful! I also opted for a full set with gel polish and couldn't be happier with the results! Meticulous is the only word I have to describe the service. While this nail salon is far less updated and much less "fancy" than my normal salon, the prices reflect the environment. $30 for a gel manicure is more than fair IMO. Walked in at lunchtime, and didn't have an appointment. They have a regular crowd and it seems like most of their business is appointment only, so I would suggest calling ahead of you are going at a peak time. I waited about 10 minutes and there were 2 people working. The man who did my simple gel manicure was very picky, and went over my cuticles 3 times, and probably fixed what my other salon has been neglecting. He also applied more coats than my normal place, so I'm interested to see if they last longer. I spotted a working autoclave and a barbicide soak prior to placing instruments into to sterilization, and feel comfortable about the cleanliness. Don't have high expectations about the environment here, and the service will be worth it. read more

I was in desperate need for a manicure and had stopped in a few places before coming here. The others all had long waits. Great for them but not great for me. I came here, there's parking in back and meter parking on the street. It's a corner location and pretty large actually. Pedicure stations are on a raised level and looked nice. It was not crowded so when I asked for a manicure I did not ask for time to wait. Looked like there was one pedi being done and one tech free. She sat me down to soak (I prefer not soaking first, but ok). Then a woman came out of the restroom (I think) and the tech sat with her. She was having some fake nails put on or taken off or something anyway. I was soaking. In came a woman who said "I'm the one that called about the repair". The tech said ok. The repair sat down. And started to wait. Two women walked in for gel color changes. "We called for gel changes". The tech gave them the color pads to look at. They sat down. I was soaking. Then the techs husband came back. The tech came to me immediately and the husband went to the fake nails woman. The repair and the gel changes sat. Then the repair said "how long is the wait? I have someone waiting for me. Should I come back?" Yes they said. Come back at 5. I soaked for over 10 min. My mani took maybe 7 min. No hand lotion at the end. Ok. $11. $13 with tip (which was generous). Id go back if in need again as the mani is pretty good. But there seem to be some organizational challenges. A-OK. read more

Made my appointment at ten in the morning when they opened, unfortunately I was fifteen minutes late and one lady says sorry you lost it. I had to be at work. So I understood and almost walked out. They pressure me to stay and so I do. A very inexperienced lady starts me off completely messes up the shape of my nails. Then a guy comes over talks to her rudely and tries fixing it, then he leaves tells me two minutes and I sit there until a third lady comes. Now she tries fixing what he did and at this point I basically do not have any nails left. (Pretty upset because I'm going on vacation next week). She continues with the paint job and it is equally terrible. So I'm stuck with extremely short nails, can barely see them from the back, and a bad paint job... They do amazing work! My mom and I have been coming for years to get our nails done. We always call and make an appointment with them even if it's just for me to get a quick eyebrow wax. They recommend that you make an appointment ahead of time so that you can get in faster but if you just walk in you may have to wait a little or they'll suggest you come back later and they'll tell you around when they will be free. It's a small neighborhood shop that is ran by a wonderful husband and wife team. They always make sure that our nails look amazing and that we love that it has a family feel to it. read more

I met the owners wife at another salon that I use to frequent regularly (she was the only one I allowed to touch my nails, she's really good) and I followed her here after she whispered to me that she would be opening her own salon with her husband. Quite frankly, even if I didn't currently live around the corner form this place, I would drive to this location from anywhere in Buffalo because not only is the service good, they're really good people who care about their customers. I stopped getting my fingernails done and now I only visit every once a while for a pedi and eyebrow wax when I'm not doing them myself and even after all this time and although I don't visit often she still remembers the way I prefer to have my pedi done and my very specific eyebrow waxing requests. One year, for Christmas, she even gave me a nice little gift bag to show her appreciation. I love these people! The only thing I can even say that might bother anyone is that they sometimes have their children playing or doing homework at the table and while it doesn't bother me, I've seen some customers make faces about it. I can understand that too, women go to these salons to be away from their families and take some quality time pampering themselves, you kind of don't want to be bothered with that but it's really not an all day, everyday occurrence, so I'm just mentioning it as a heads up of what to expect. The kids don't get in the way and I still get in and out within a reasonable time. I'm also always happy with what I paid for when she takes care of me... and, I still prefer for Nan to take care of me and not her husband or the new employee they have, I'm picky. I'm so picky that, that's why I'm going to rate this place four stars and not five because I know that if she's not taking care of me, I might like leave completely content. That's just me but it's all about customer service and quality so, you decide what's important to you, judge for yourself. I always feel welcomed here, even when they're busy and I have to wait. If you're planning on going to the salon on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday, you should call ahead and put your name on the list. The place is clean and they work as diligently as they can with three people on staff and a large clientele but wait times can vary. I would prefer to give my money to a local family owned business than to drive to salon/spa, pay more for the same service only to be treated like an outsider which, that's happened to me more times than I care to share. Regardless, I'm a dedicated customer and happy to rave about this family owned business. P.S. There is limited free parking in the rear of the building and street park on Hertel during the day requires you feed the meter a few quarters. That is, it did do me fine in a mani-pedi pinch situation, but I would not come back here for a pampering. Cleanliness-lacking. The pedi chairs are broken--causing me to lean way back as if I was visting the gyno--and the vibrations were not of the soothing variety. I went to the salon this past weekend and got a gel manicure. It is deff not a high end establishment but they are clean. A few things that I do not like, the first being that one person started the manicure, then Damien stepped in and was in the middle and then his wife finished it. It's not professional. But they did a decent job all together. The other thing I didn't like was that they had a sign saying they took credit card or debit card and a sign saying the Gel manicure is worth $15. Turns out they didn't take cards and a gel manicure is actually $28. I felt embarrassed because I only had $29 cash with me. LOL. I've had my brows done here & a couple of pedicures. I have always walked out happy no matter what service I needed. I've personally witnessed Darius & his wife do their hardest to accommodate people even when they're about to close & someone walks in unexpectedly. They are a small neighborhood family business who provide great, caring, reliably good service at very reasonable prices! Plus they're honest! In my experience, nail salons will tell you the wait is 5-10 minutes no matter when you walk in & how many people are in front of you then make you wait possibly hours. They'd rather lie then lose the customer. At the North Studio Nail Salon, if you walk in without an appointment & both are busy &/or folks are in the seats already waiting or in the back pedicure/waxing area, they'll tell you the real approximate wait time, to come back in x amount of time, or try back later. They are usually the only 2 there, however give you personalized attention, always go above and beyond and are extremely welcoming and warm every time I am there. What can i say well i been coming to this nail shop for almost a year now and i have had good experience and bad!! The owner of this nail shop is very nasty and has a bad attitude... he talks to his customers like crap and acts like he is the only nail salon in buffalo!!! I brought in my own gel and curing lamp he told me my products where crappie and cheap and charged me the same price we would if i didn't bring my products.
