That being said, our server Diego was bright and cheery and attentive. The cornbread was huge and dripping w Honey and Butter. Chicken was crisp and well cooked and seasoned. Mac n cheese thick and salty in the best way. Cheesy grits were Full and comforting. My only fail were the collards wc seems undercooked and had a bitter aftertaste. $4 upgrade for an all white meat platter, wc is fine but they should mention that as you order. Next table had snow crab legs and I over heard them It was better than Capt Pells. Not cheap, but worth the good food and hearty portions. I normally wait for at least 3 visits before I review a restaurant, but in this case I'll make an exception and give this review after just 2 visits. Ms. Peach's is a GREAT addition to the LoCo restaurant scene. When so many of my favorites are disappearing, I'm so happy to be able to add one to my list of favorites. I'm an old school soul food lover (are we still allowed to call it that?), and so many places have come and gone that have been bad (So Damned Soulful- microwaved trash, Johnny Ray's- he can't stay in one location and he has clearly switched to a lot of frozen food), but Ms. Peach's is off to a wonderful start. I loved seeing the restaurant packed when I went there, and happy people were leaving. I love the fried chicken, it's cooked perfectly- crispy outside and moist and juicy inside, with just the right amount of spice added to the breading. The mac & cheese is really good, it's not mushy like so many other places, and the cheese is delicious. The greens are great, and the biscuits....oh, the biscuits! Listen, I'm not really a biscuit guy, I always find them dry and they make me drink half a gallon of water, but these are perfect, and the honey and peach preserves are a great addition. Best biscuits in the DMV if you ask me and my biscuit loving wife. The waffles are great, and the salads are terrific as well. If I could add one thing to the menu, I'd add fried okra- it's a staple on soul food...er...comfort food restaurant menus, and it should be added here. Also, I found the peaches in the peach cobbler to have a bit of a sour taste and so did my family, but that's an easy fix. Chicken & Waffles: I ordered dark meat only -- a leg, wing, and thigh. I ate the leg and wing, both were seasoned perfectly, piping hot and not too salty. But when Tommy opened the thigh, there was a stringy, semi-bloody situation going on -- not ideal. The manager came over promptly, addressed it, and apologized. The waffle, however, was not waffling -- room temperature at best. Desserts (included with the $32 brunch): The brunch deal includes an appetizer, entrée, and dessert. There's nothing "bad" to say here. Just kinks that with better workflow and recipe tweaks can be fixed. The food is good and the service is exemplary. I went on the 3rd day they were open and they were behind but working to get ahead. This is a southern restaurant, but it is also someone's interpretation of the southern food. They grew up with. That being said, the greens are not what you typically expect for that type of restaurant. While they are tasty, they are not traditional, southern greens. Same with the catfish nuggets. They are battered in a sweet dough and it just doesn't work for that appetizer. All in all, I hope they stay around and I look forward to coming back for dinner. read more

What a vibe! If you're missing some southern home cooking and amazing cocktails, this is your new favorite place! Catfish bites are out of this world and I don't even usually like catfish. Fried green tomatoes are fantastic. Get the peach salad and the juiciest pork chop you've ever eaten. The magnolia margarita is incredible with Patron and Hennessy as is the spicy marg. Outstanding! After having a good carryout experience here we stopped in for dinner on a Sunday evening. Total opposite of the carryout experience. The place was moderately busy with about half the tables occupied and they were doing a brisk carryout business. There was plenty of staff, but they seemed really disorganized. What stood out though, was that all the unoccupied tables hadn't been bussed and were filled with dirty dishes. They had to clear a table so we could sit. So maybe they just finished up the dinner rush and didn't have a chance to bus and clean the tables. Wrong. We were there for over an hour and the dirty dishes sat on the tables around us and weren't touched, even though the staff had plenty of opportunity to clear them. Apparently busing dirty dishes and cleaning tables is not a focus of this establishment. We ate our dinner surrounded by empty tables of half-eaten food, crumpled greasy napkins, and dirty dishes. Totally disgusting! Our server was new and awkward and forgot to bring the glass of wine we ordered. It sat on the bar for 10 minutes before we reminded her of it. She totally forgot. She wasn't that busy. The person who we were told was the manager, wasn't managing. She was processing carryout orders and walking around looking important. She wasn't interacting with or directing the staff, who clearly needed her direction. The food came out in a reasonable period of time but wasn't the same quality as the first carry out we ordered a couple weeks prior. The fried chicken and Gumbo were hot but the side dishes were cold. Some thoughts on menu items: The Gumbo is excellent but order it dry--the broth makes the rest of the ingredients soggy Shrimp and grits were good but skip the Cajun cream sauce or order it on the side. It overwhelms the rest of the dish and makes it watery. The fried chicken, while not bad, is totally forgettable. Catfish bites app was good, but the portion was extremely small for $14 Ms. Peaches is part of the Thompson Restaurant Group, a local chain like Great American, but nowhere near as good. In general, the prices are expensive for what you get. Not a good value. The wine and beer selection is a joke. Overpriced and terrible quality. Only three bottled beers (Miller Light, Blue Moon, and Modello) for $9 a bottle. Nothing on tap. For a restaurant that has entree prices in the mid $20's to low $30's the wine selection was more reminiscent of a local dive bar than a wannabe upscale restaurant. The same wine would be much cheaper at the dive bar though. Food is overpriced for a neighborhood strip mall restaurant. Might try carry-out one more time but not going to eat in the restaurant again. read more

After reading the mixed reviews, I was quite nervous to try this place. Our experience was wonderful. We had an excellent server Ziniah and not a single dish that we tried was bad. I learned from Ziniah that most of the negative reviews were from people who had not made a reservation. So be sure to make a reservation. It took me almost 3 weeks to find an after-church lunch reservation. But I am glad we waited. We had the unlimited brunch. As a party of three, we tried deviled eggs (excellent), catfish bites (very addictive), cornbread (this was my favorite, I'm still dreaming about having it again), biscuits and honey (excellent), shrimp and grits (good), chicken and waffle, Southern breakfast, peach cobbler, pecan pie (excellent), and a chocolate milkshake. I can't remember the last time we tried a restaurant that had so many standout dishes paired with excellent service. Ziniah, you belong in the hospitality industry. Went here for brunch on their first weekend after opening. We got the family style brunch, and everything that we tried was very tasty. Deviled eggs were no frills and tasted fresh. I'm not a fan of restaurants adding a dozen ingredients into their deviled eggs, so this was a home run for me. Chicken and waffles were very good. Chicken was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. Bone in, too. So many places seem to just do tenders now, which is just sad. One of the better chicken and waffles I've had. Avocado toast has a generous helping of salmon and avocado, and the pumpernickel toast was very good. And finally (or really at the beginning), the biscuits, served with peach compote, were the star of the show. Biscuits were light, fluffy, and flaky. I really wanted to like this place. I'm a southerner so good fried chicken is something I look forward to finding in the area. Ms. Peach's isn't it. When we ordered we were told we couldn't pick white or dark meat. We would get what they served us. I personally don't like dark meat chicken. Nothing wrong it, just a preference. They did give both of us breasts, so kudos for that. The breading was more of a semi detached crust that wasn't actually adhering to the meat. They obviously don't brine their chicken because all of the seasoning was in the crust. The breast itself had no seasoning and was bland. First time visiting. The food was okay. The good thing was we went for the unlimited brunch which was $34 pp, so we got to try a variety of items. My fave was probably the avocado toast. Our server, Danny was wonderful. However there was a woman in a green dress with long brown hair seeming to be the manager that made us feel awkward because she noticeably skipped checking on our party of 2 and instead repeatedly returned straight to the two tables we were sitting in between. Like lady we don't want you over here anyway but just because of how weird you were, we definitely aren't interested in returning. I really don't want to say the "R" word but she was weird like it's so obvious you don't want to speak to us and we didn't need her to. But stop staring and coming near our food. read more

A friend recommended Ms. Peach's. We came for a late brunch on a Saturday, arriving at 2pm. The unlimited brunch ends at 3pm. So we had an hour to indulge. My guy and I had breakfast at Miss Peaches yesterday. I didn't know what to expect so I made a 1045 reservation. We arrived at 10:45 and we were seated by the hostess. The restaurant was not busy. We waited what seemed like 10 minutes before our waitress came to our table. Another couple who arrived after us were seated and served their beverages before our waitress showed up at our table. By the time she took our order they had their food. This was curious, as there were a number of wait staff gathered in the back of the restaurant. When our waitress finally came to take our order, I commented that we were wondering where she was. She just giggled nervously, didn't apologize, and asked what we wanted to drink. My guy ordered water, coffee, and orange juice. I ordered a cranberry mimosa. When the beverages came, she didn't bring his orange juice. She had to go back and get it. I ordered the shrimp and grits and he ordered the classic breakfast. the shrimp and grits were delicious. However, my guy's food was room temperature and he only ate the scrambled eggs and cheese and bacon. We like experiencing different restaurants. my guy is a big guy 6'3" loves to eat. Unfortunately, he wasn't very comfortable. The table for two was very small and his knees hit the bottom of the table. The decor was pleasant however, the overall restaurant is very small. The first thing I'll say is service was above and beyond. Had an early dinner there on the day of the "grand opening". Love the idea of the peach tea in the take-home jar, very pretty decor. The deviled eggs were unremarkable - I'm used to a bit more flavor. The appetizer gumbo was a generous portion and tasty. But the fried green tomatoes were a huge disappointment, they were heavily floured and then deep fried so instead of a nice crispy stack of tomato slices I got four soggy slabs on a plate. My dining companion was likewise disappointed in the fried chicken, which came out looking lovely, but turned out to be mostly breading, no great seasoning there, and very little meat. Back to the peach tea, I'm an iced tea lover and enjoy flavored teas. This tea was extremely watered down with neither tea nor peach flavor. Having said all that I would go back for cocktails and maybe try a different appetizer. I'm hoping that with enough feedback some of these things can be worked out or maybe attributed to opening day missteps. I'd love to see a good restaurants succeed in that location! read more

Everything was just really mediocre. The corn bread was okay but was a tad bit dry. I had the fried chicken which was decent, but would have liked some type of sauce. The service, facility, Everything was top notch/5 star. our waiter Danny & his General Manager went above & beyond for our Queens. Lawdy the food was a 10plus. We all got the buffet. The only thing we needed at the end was a pillow & a bed & wake up there the next day to start over. The ambiance was superb. I would highly recommend this restaurant. This place does not know how to cook eggs properly. After sending the eggs back, they cooked them a second time and still overcooked. The chicken and waffles were equally terrible. Chicken was dry and had no taste. The staff had poor excuses for the bad food. They said because it was busy the kitchen messed up! Are they saying that the restaurant has to be empty to cook a decent meal??!!! Will not be returning again. Go to IHOP for a better and cheaper meal. Unfortunately, that excitement quickly turned into a night of horror and continued to affect our family today. We were a party of five dining in, and I am writing to express my grave concern regarding the quality of the food and the severe gastrointestinal distress that has affected six people in total. Visit Details and Positive Feedback We arrived around 3:30 PM and left around 5:00 PM on Sunday, September 28th. I want to first note that the atmosphere was great, and both our waiter and the host were highly professional and hospitable. The only minor flaw was a typo my son noticed on your Instagram handle listed on the blackboard. Our Order and Food Quality Concerns We began with the deviled eggs and cornbread. My mother, sister, and I opted for the Family Unlimited to allow for sampling. * Chicken and Whiting Fish: I noted that my chicken was a little pinkish toward the bone and immediately stopped eating it. I switched to the whiting fish, but one bite was so intensely salty it was like a "salt lick." We decided to take the unused portions of the fish home. * Sides & Other Items: We had the collards, yams, and mac and cheese (which was bland). My son ordered the Shrimp and Grits. My sister and I had the peach cobbler, and we all (except my 6-year-old grandson) drank the peach tea. * What was safe: My 6-year-old grandson, who only ate butter pasta, was thankfully spared. We took several pictures of our food during the meal and can provide these upon request. Subsequent Illness Affecting Six People The contaminated food quickly began causing illness and continued to sicken others who ate the leftovers: * My mother had to use your restroom before we left, as the meal "went right through her." * I developed a headache soon after arriving home, and from 11:30 PM until 3:00 AM I was violently ill with vomiting, diarrhea, and the shakes. * This morning, my sister and son woke up to similar, severe experiences. * My brother-in-law and two other adults who ate the leftovers we took home also became ill overnight and this morning, experiencing severe discomfort. I am profoundly thankful that no one ended up in the hospital and that my grandson avoided consuming what we ate. Conclusion As loyal customers of the Thompson Restaurant Group, this was the single worst dining experience we have ever had at any of your establishments. For a total of six adults to be simultaneously struck with such severe illness from your food points clearly to a serious and widespread issue with food safety and preparation at Ms. Peach's. I urge you to immediately investigate your kitchen operations, sourcing, and food handling procedures for this location. Upon a new soul food place opening in Sterling I was really hoping that this place would hit the spot but I was highly disappointed. I ordered take out and this has got to be the worst "southern" food I've ever tasted. The greens are not done; not tender as greens should be. The fried whiting is very thick and lacks flavor; not even sure it's actually whiting‍. The mac and cheese barely has any cheese or sauce, white in color and the yams also lacked flavor; missing butter and brown sugar. My son got the fried chicken that I didn't even bother to try due to my disappointment in my dishes. I'm not sure who the chef is but I suggest this establishment get one that knows what they're doing. As the daughter of a father that was in the food industry for many years, I know what good food taste like and how it should be prepared. Oh, and the biscuits were very hard and way too brown.
