A great and friendly staff, I am glad I've been able to finally stop by and give this place a try. I definitely enjoyed the corn snacks given at the start. The food took a little while but overall still a great experience with the music in the background and the interior decor. Looking forward to going back and trying more of the fusion dishes.

TL;DR: Great food. Poor service. Would not go back. Food (3/5): The food was delicious overall. I had the half chicken, and it was full of flavor. Everyone at the table enjoyed their meals, except for the tropical burger. It was dry and had no seasoning. The portions were also very small for the price. Ambiance (4/5): This spot used to be Wicked Door Pub, but it's now Xaymaca Fusion Kitchen. There is plenty of indoor seating, lots of parking outside, and the Jamaican-themed decor adds a nice touch that fits the vibe well. Service (1/5): The service was disappointing. Our waitress was unable to take our order properly. This isn't about her not speaking English, but about the fact that she could not communicate or do the job effectively. She just pressed buttons on an iPad, nodded, and walked away. About ten minutes later, a man came over, apologized, and took our order while the original waitress stood nearby, staring off into the distance. He had to ask her three times to bring us waters, and even then she placed them randomly instead of handing them to the correct people. We waited about an hour for our food. When it finally arrived, only four of us got our meals. The fifth person was just sitting there confused. After five minutes of waiting, I looked over at the owner and said we were missing the burger. We found out the burger had been sitting under the heat lamp. The waitress had simply forgotten to bring it out.

Amazingly great food for a newly opened restaurant. It's Jamaican-Peruvian fusion. The roast corn ( like nuts) are pleasingly addictive. Lots of flavors and varied menu. Prices reasonable. Staff have some early kinks to work out - like POS issue but they are nice and explain everything. Can't wait to go back. It's in the old wicket door pub location.

I recently visited Xaymaca Fusion Kitchen, one of Ashburn's newest restaurants, and I'm so glad I did! Jamaican food is such a rarity in Loudoun County, so I was excited to see what they had to offer. The space itself is beautiful--spacious with plenty of seating, a large bar, bold artwork, and a stunning mural that immediately sets the vibe. Although I ordered takeout, I couldn't resist staying to try a few Jamaican patties--rib, beef, and curry chicken--along with a cocktail. The presentation was on point, my drink was refreshing, and the curry chicken patty was hands-down my favorite. The staff was very welcoming and accommodating--making sure I left satisfied. What makes me even more excited is everything Xaymaca has coming up. They host a weekly happy hour that features one Jamaican patty and a wine flight for just $10 and other food and drink options. Plus, they're launching brunch on 9/14, showcasing their signature fusion dishes with a live DJ bringing the vibes. Fresh flavors, a gorgeous space, and fun events--there's definitely a lot to look forward to at Xaymaca Fusion Kitchen. I can't wait to go back!

Food was really good. The jerk chicken was a smidge dry but very tasty. The patties and the pasta were the highlight of the meal. My daughter enjoyed the beans and rice as well. Not super kid friendly but kids are allowed. Plenty of seating and loved the decor. The service was incredibly slow and although super nice, not very attentive although the server may have been new.

Fun concept and lovely decor at this new fusion restaurant. We had good cocktails and the whole chicken with sides (you can pick 4 with whole and 2 with half), while Friend had oxtail sandwich (said it was amazing). Wonderful staff. Didn't feel rushed but they checked in. Can't wait to go again and try something else!

Reggae pork sandwich - very delicious!!

My friend and I ordered from Uber Eats and our order did arrive quickly. He ordered the reggae pork sandwich and I ordered the oxtail sandwich without the bun. Both sandwiches came with a side of fries, which were also delicious! We also ordered the cod chowder soup, which were all amazing!! We will definitely be ordering from here again!! So sorry, no pics of the chowder... we were just so hungry so we just downed that as soon as it arrived!! Oopsie!!

Stumbled upon this new Jamaican - Peruvian fusion place as I went for a haircut nearby and saw they took over the old wicket door pub. Very nice layout! The food was very good. I got the pesto pasta which was a spin on lomo Saltado - and yucca fries. Went back and got the tropical burger (get it med rare) - it was delicious with jerk mayo and spiced mangoes -- they are certainly going through what all new places do, but overall this place is 5/5!

Roti curry chicken with pumpkin stew and coconut rice, and jerk wings.

What a find! Peruvian-Jamaican fusion, a delicious combination! The staff were very friendly and started our meal off with complimentary snacks, plantain chips and crispy corn. The ambience is great including little lights on each table and good music. We started our dinner off with a couple of patties, oxtail and jerk chicken. The jerk chicken was our favorite. Perfect level of spice. Next we ordered some jerk wings and the curry chicken roti plate. Both were excellent. I especially like the combination of chicken curry with pumpkin/corn stew. The sweet and spicy went so well together. They put cilantro on their chicken curry so if you are cilantro averse, like my husband, make sure to request no cilantro. Time and attention on plating is clear. Everything came out looking perfect. We will definitely return to try some more dishes.

We found out about Xaymaca from a newspaper advertisement and I was shocked I had not come across this Peruvian fusion restaurant. We enjoyed the food and the outdoor seating area. The staff was friendly but service took too long. We plan to go back as the food is worth trying again.

Amazing food: hot, fresh, flavorful. We saw the sign and stopped in for it to go order. On top of fabulous food, we felt welcomed, service is excellent, fun setting, easy vibe, and super clean. The flavors of everything were so unique and the whole packaging is gourmet yet you also come away with a feeling of comfort food. Warm, filling, generous portions.

Absolutely incredible experience! The flavors were bold and unforgettable--each dish had the perfect balance of Peruvian fusion that kept us wanting more. Must try dishes: Reggae pork sandwich was the BEST and you have to try the jerk chicken Pattie. The portions were generous, making it an amazing value for the quality of food you get. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. And the ambiance was spotless--everything looked brand new and thoughtfully designed. We'll definitely be coming back!

    Jerk wings

Large restaurant with huge outdoor seating area. I ordered the jerk wings (6) and a side of peas and rice. With a $2.00 tip my total was over $20. The peas and rice taste like they cooked it in dish detergent liquid. It had a very odd soapy taste so I did not finish it. The wings were not seasoned and bland without the sauce. The jerk sauce made it better but still not great. The service was great though. I wanted to try simple items on the menu before spending tons on their fish or oxtail. I will not be back.

I ordered the curry crab legs with the side of mac and cheese, and the oxtail with the side of rice and lentils. Both dishes were amazing. The curry sauce for the crab was tasty and flavorful. We would definitely order from this food truck again. Service was kind and hospitable. Food came out at a reasonable time, especially with so many orders at the same time!

This food truck came to our building today. Since we never have had food from Trinidad and Tobago,…read morewe decided to give them a try. We knew that food from that region can be spicy and we knew that we would like to start with something tame. After looking at their menu board, I decided to go with fried chicken wings with a side of potato salad. My husband ordered pineapple chicken with a side of rice and peas. The people who work the truck are friendly and gladly answered any questions we had. It didn't take long to get our food. When we got the food upstairs, instead of getting fried chicken wings, I ended up with fried chicken tenders. Also, we were both surprised to see that each dinner comes with a small, undressed salad which consists of iceberg lettuce, red onions and a slice of tomato. They give out some sauces/dressings and I chose the one that wasn't spicy. As it was described to us, it was supposed to be "tingly". Okay...well...it was a thin sauce with a little bit of kick to it. I put it on my salad and it worked well with it. I found the chicken tenders to be on the dry side but certainly edible. My husband's pineapple chicken consisted of fried chicken tenders with a pineapple sauce that was simultaneously sweet and spicy. He enjoyed the sauce, and, thus the chicken. The potato salad had sweet undertones to it and had some peas and corn in it. I enjoyed this unconventional version. My husband liked the rice and peas, even though it was on the dry side. The peas were actually pigeon peas, which we both liked. My husband was pleasantly surprised by the food and said if this truck comes by again, he would gladly order from them. I, too, agree but now know to add the pineapple sauce to my chicken.

The ordering process was smooth; I had a friend help me modify the selection, and another handled the pickup. The food was absolutely delicious. I submitted a custom catering request through the website and never received a response, so I would recommend a more consistent process for monitoring and replying to digital inquiries. Overall, given the lack of Jamaican restaurants in NoVA, this spot was decent, and I'd return to try some of the other sides. Customer service was great. Initially I chose mixed veggies as a side but changed it to mac and cheese with no issues at all; the staff was more than willing. The restaurant itself is spacious compared to most Jamaican spots and is located right next to BJ's. Lunch prices are reasonable, though the regular entrées are on the pricier side in my opinion. That said, the lunch portion was more than enough.
