The owner is a hard worker and always see him working with a huge smile on his face. Not bad, I personally didn't enjoy my half a chicken, rice/beans, or yuca, or the sauces. The chicken tasted dry and not very flavorful. The rice was hard, beans tasted fresh out of a can, and the sauce tasted like someone with hand lotion mixed it up. My boyfriend got the pollo saltado which he really enjoyed! Maybe I just got the wrong thing from here... There's limited inside seating. The food was ready in about 15 minutes. The cost was typical average prices. read more

Good stuff. Had this place bookmarked for awhile and we finally got a chance to try it out. Close to home, so it's definitely convenient. The cashier was friendly and quick. Our order was neatly wrapped and ready to go in no time. The restaurant is clean and organized. I wouldn't say this is our ultimate favorite place to pick up chicken but it is super convenient and gets the job done. The chicken was flavorful enough and the sides were good. I wouldn't go out of my way to visit Misky Chicken. I'm glad it's close to home, which is a great option to have. The more mom and pop restaurants, the better! read more

3.5 Stars (rounding up to 4). I just realized YELP changed the meaning of the stars (3 stars used to mean "A-Okay", and 4 stars meant "I'm a fan"). Now it means "OK", and "Good", respectively. While I could say the food was "Good", it's hard to say "I'm a fan"....just yet. I stopped by yesterday for the first time for takeout. I can't say this is the best Peruvian Chicken I've had, but at least it scratches the itch. Overall, not bad, and will likely be back to try a few more other items. CHICKEN: The biggest thing I'm looking for in Peruvian chicken is a STRONG mouth-watering pop of flavors with the first bite. The flavors here are a bit more subdue than I'm hoping for, but still good. In fact, my wife seemed to appreciate that subtlety more than the spice-bomb I'm looking for. We ordered a whole chicken meal for ourselves and 4 single meals for some workers. We thought the chicken was good, and got neither compliments or complaints from the workers. YUCA: I would rate these as A-OK. They didn't quite have the crisp golden look I was expecting. SAUCES: I thought the white and green sauces that others have commented on were okay. The white sauce was sweet, and when I asked the person (owner?) behind the counter what was in it, he muttered through his face mask something to the effect that the guy who makes the sauces was not there, and it's a secret. The sauces is thinner than other places. I normally skip the green sauce, but I found it pretty good here. PRICES: The prices at the store versus on the menu and website has increased (reference the picture of the menu). I want to love this spot since it's right next to my house, but I just couldn't fall in love. The chicken was so mild in flavor, but I will say, it was juicy. The plantains weren't what I was used to. It was a bit dry and flavorless. Huge plus that this place took my order over the phone and had it ready in 10 minutes. but y'all the plantains made me sad. so I can't recommend the plantains. Nope! This is not Peruvian chicken. At best, this is baked chicken with a ton of salt on the skin. The chicken has no hints of the cumin, garlic, lime, smokey flavor,etc. that you expect with Peruvian chicken and any recipe associated with it. This chicken was not good and dry. I went here to pick up dinner for my son while I was waiting for carry out food next door. I'm not sure how much business they actually get...maybe because they are new, but there was nobody in there when I came. The chicken was on par with many other Peruvian chicken places. Got mac and cheese as the side and that was pretty gross. It tasted like a frozen entree mac and cheese that they just warmed up. Also, I normally love the yellow sauce, but I did not like the one they have here. It tastes different from other places. I had high hopes for this place but it was a disappointment for all of the other options of Peruvian or Rotisserie chicken in the area. Their Jalapeño Verde Sauce was very tasty and had a good kick and their Yuca fries were good. The chicken was very hot and fresh, with crispy skin but seemed a little dry. The "yellow" or as they called it "white" sauce was more like a white wine vinaigrette which they also added to their salad as the "house dressing". It was very bland and watery. The chicken also had a cinnamon flavor to it that I didn't care for, it might have been a different spice similar to cinnamon but that's what it seemed like to me. Sorry to only give this place a poor review after one try, but it's just my opinion and believe that this is just their product not an "off day". Ok it has been two years since they've opened. We decided to try them out again and boy they didn't disappoint. We've actually been back a few times. We get the family meal which is like 2 whole chickens and 4 sides. The chicken is so flavorful and moist. The sides are plentiful and fresh. We also ask for extra white and green sauce and the owner tosses in so many. Some places charge for extra white and green sauce but the owner has never charged us. Maybe because we get the family meal. The family meal also includes a 2 liter bottle of soda. We get the Inca Cola drink and it is so good. Tastes almost like a banana pineapple tropical soda. We have lived in Aldie now for 3 years, and we've been driving to South Riding, Chantilly, or Dulles for our favorite takeout meal... Peruvian Chicken. It's great to finally have a close option for Peruvian chicken takeout. They prepare the food quickly, and they are nice and responsive. They do not deliver, FYI. We always order the same things: - Whole Chicken: The chicken here is delicious. They make a good Peruvian chicken, as you would hope any restaurant like this would. The size of the chicken is also better than others in the area (I.e. Backyard Rotisserie, which is a bit skimpy on the portions for the very same price as Misky). - Yuca: The yuca here is very good. Some places are too starchy and too dry. They do a good job of balancing the traditional yuca with enough crispiness to make this a delicious side. We can't get enough of these. However, I still give the edge on Yuca to Backyard. But Misky's yuca is better than other places like Super Chicken and Mr Pollo. - Plantains: We love plantains. The plantains at Misky are good, not great. They do them a little differently. They are long and wide, versus the usual short and thin sliced you get at other places. I rank them above Backyard, but below Super Chicken and Mr Pollo. - Green Sauce: The green sauce is excellent. Not too spicy, but spicy enough to give it a nice kick. We use this for the majority of the chicken when we order from Misky's. - White Sauce: Not sure what Misky's puts in their white sauce, but it's different from every other Peruvian Chicken place we've eaten at. We don't like it. It's very thin/runny, rather than thick and creamy (which is what we've gotten from every other place). It has a white/beige color to it, others are usually more yellow than white. And most importantly, the taste is meh. With Peruvian chicken, for my wife and I, the white sauce is where it's at. We use it for the chicken and the yuca. Misky's needs to improve or change their sauce recipe for us to be loyal customers. We value the sauce too much to pass up the delicious sauce offered by Backyard, Mr Pollo, and Super Chicken. - Sauce Portions: They give you 3 small sauces each (white and green). This is pretty standard. Because the sauce isn't as good, we have gotten bigger sauce cups from other places and kept them in house, and used them for Misky Chicken and yuca. No sense in buying extra sauce we don't like. In summary, it's great to have a Peruvian chicken option that's only a 5-10 minute drive from our house. Everywhere else takes me close to an hour round trip just to pick up food. That's a definite edge for Misky's. The food is good, not great. A couple changes/improvements and we would be loyal customers due to the location and quality of service. Mr Pollo for example has run out of chicken at 5pm on a Saturday and Sunday evening THREE TIMES. We've yet to be disappointed with the service at Misky's. Let's improve the sauce guys and we'll keep coming back! read more

My wife and I have been loyal customers here since they opened. The chicken is quite tasty and we always get the fried yuca for our side dish, which, most of the time is just fine. My favorite thing is the ahi verde... the best I've ever had. What's sad, though, is that the happy feeling we used to get when we came in is fading. The guys don't seem to be happy being there. And, man, are they incredibly stingy with the sauces now. One day, I went in there and ordered a whole chicken and a double portion of yuca. The lady there gave me one white sauce and one ahi verde for the whole thing. Wha??????? We just now ordered the same thing and the dude was terrified to add an extra ahi verde to our bag, pointing to the camera in fear. Seriously... this is ridiculous and has to stop. The sauce is delicious. Be generous with it for crying out loud. All these things are making it less likely that we'll continue to come back. That's a huge shame, because we love the food and the guys are nice. Bring the joy back and be generous with the sauces! Either that or at least give your customers the option to buy more sauce. Disappointing. The chicken and plantains were okay, which is why I'm giving 3 stars instead of 2. But the white sauce was off - thin, sweet, not garlicky. I liked it. There is a huge menu with many things to choose from. I had the old standby, a quarter chicken with two sides. For sides I asked for yucca and rice and beans. The man behind the counter (who was nice) said "you get only two sides." So I said yucca and beans. When he brought me the plate, he said he gave me rice and beans anyway! The yucca was great. Yes, I should've checked before leaving but when the worker already tied the bag and being used to given sauces at other Peruvian chicken places without asking, I figured it was in the bag.
