I was really excited because I've never been to this chain before but a few things were negative. No staff to take orders. Tasty! We got the signature chicken sandwich and the chicken fingers. The chicken sandwich was juicier, but the fingers were a bit crispier. Both were fresh, hot, and delicious. The fries were fluffy but not crispy, so I wouldn't get that again. The texas toast was good - pillowy and slightly crisp. I didn't enjoy the zax sauce, but the hot honey mustard was pretty good. Growing up in Georgia, Zaxbys was one of my favorite fast food dates with my mom after school. When one came to Chantilly I was so pleased I no longer had to drive out to Winchester for a craving! Today, my experience was great! I placed my order thru the app which is a breeze, then went in the drive thru for pick up. Even though, I had limited contact with the employee working the drive thru, she was very helpful/friendly in the brief encounter. Encounters like that go along way! Now for the food, I got the big Zax Snack which never disappoints! I also did try the *NEW* spring rolls which were just alright. I have enjoyed Zaxby's when traveling in other states, and looked forward to having an alternative to Chick-fil-a which in my area has declined in quality lately. Recently I went to the Zaxby's in Chantilly and ordered a Zaxby's sandwich meal to go. Unfortunately when I arrived home I found that the cashier had confused my order and gave me chicken fingers instead of a sandwich. The restaurant is too far from my house for me to consider going back to correct the order. I found the fries to be very dry, as if they were sitting under a heat lamp for a long time, and unevenly seasoned -- some had none and some were overly seasoned. The chicken I did get was fine, if a little dry, and not overly salty like Zaxby's chicken sometimes is. I like that they have a Coke machine that lets you mix your own flavors. The restaurant itself was pretty quiet, perhaps because I was there after the noon rush for lunch. Overall, however, I was not very impressed and won't be returning. read more

May 2021 - COVID Review: I didn't get to try Zaxby's during my visits to southern states, so it's nice that there's a new location in NoVA now! My husband and I stopped by the drive-thru and instead of ordering through a speaker, there's a staff member outside taking your order on an iPad. We found this helpful since it was our first time and we were able to get many of our questions answered! The Zax Sauce and the spicy version of it are so good! This is probably more of a 3.5 for me but my bf world probably rate this a 4 or 4.5. The portions are big and definitely filling. My wings felt overcooked so they were kind of dry and I like my wings kind of marinated. These are more like regular wings that were rolled some in sauce but I would say my main complaint is just that the wings were overcooked and dry. The fries were not bad though could be salted a bit more. My chicken tenders were a bit too salty. The toast was nice. If you have a higher tolerance for salt, then you would probably like this. I did like the Zaxby Sauce. We came here because someone recommended it. I think my bf would definitely want to come here again and I would come with. My first visit to a Zaxby's was on a road trip to South Carolina last year, imagine my surprise when I found out one had opened in South Riding. I have visited this location twice and have enjoyed both visits. The Traditional Wings & Things gives you the best of both worlds, chicken fingers, that were nicely breaded and juicy on the inside, perfect for dipping. The traditional buffalo wings were good, fries were ok, crispy and hot, nothing special, Texas toast was delicious. Zaxby's has a Freestyle Coke machine in addition to sweet and unsweetened ice tea. Staff was friendly, service was quick once I ordered, there was a line with only one employee taking orders. Tables were promptly cleaned as soon as patrons left, noise level was high, Saturday afternoon with families and noisy children, Will return to this Zaxby's. read more

The line moves quickly and employees are friendly. Our orders were neatly wrapped. Haven't been inside yet. We enjoy their Chicken Fingers, Texas Toast, Zax Sauce, Crinkle Fries, and Sweet Tea. Finally a Zaxby's that's less than an hour away! Went here for opening day to brave the hype and craziness. Lines were long and slow, but employees were very nice and you could tell they were working hard to get everything out as fast as possible. The food is pretty decent for a fast food joint but nothing really blows me away. We tried the original bone-in wings, chicken tenders and fries on this trip. The seasoned salt on the fries were a bit heavy but the flavor is good so I didn't mind. They kind of had a sweet aftertaste to them. The Zaxby sauce is delish and a must for the fries. The chicken tenders are juicy and light but definitely remind me of thanksgiving turkey with their seasoning. Their poultry seasoning either has a lot of celery salt or something in it. Since everything was to-go the wings were not crispy at all and definitely my least favorite part of the meal. However, I've had them fresh before and they are much better. read more

I kept hearing about Zaxby's chicken and how nothing compares. I've seen YouTube reviews and videos, and people from all over have always given it great reviews. In short: Sadly, it was anything but. From the customer service to the food, everything was a total disappointment. Poor staff and leadership (I'm talking about you Mark - tall dude with long hair) Warning for customers and delivery people: Check your order before leaving the premises. There's some weird scam, rip, or extremely negligent behavior at the location. They knowingly accept mobile others they cannot fulfill but do not advise customers of product shortages and inability to complete the order(s). The service: Ordering the food was simple enough. I ordered about $50 worth of food to sample a bit of everything, and figured I'd taste some of it and save whatever was left for later. I waited in the lobby... About 20 to 30 minutes later, I received my order. I checked it against the receipt and noticed I was missing two items (two Cheddar Bites Marinara, 4.79 plus tax each, which totaled about $10, or 20% of my total). That's not like forgetting my fries or sauce. That's ten dollars worth of food missing. I returned and informed the guy who made and handed me the order (his name was Mark/Marc). Mark looked at the receipt and instantly knew the issue: they had been out of the Cheddar Bites Marinara for a while. So Mark clearly knew they were out of the Cheddar Bites Marinara, yet instead of correcting the order and refunding the difference, he decided to serve it out anyway. And then he just stared at me for, no joke, 10 seconds until I said, 'A refund would be in order then?!' Unbelievably, Mark asked for the whole order? I answered, 'No, for the ten dollars for the missing items!' He said nothing and gave no apology or explanation as to why he didn't think to make that correction while I watched him prepare the order. His blasé attitude showed he clearly didn't care, yet he only called for help and gave me the refund after I insisted. The total and complete indifference was prevalent - Mark and crew clearly couldn't care less. Another concern is: what about the innocent people who work for DoorDash, UberEats, etc. who may get blamed for this kind of neglect? It seems unfair that they should have to bear the brunt of the responsibility for something out of their control. Cleanliness: The restaurant was messy - somewhat dirty! The floor and benches were covered with dry, sticky stains, and the floor was sticky - it was weird, considering this location is relatively new! Now to the food: I tried a bit of everything, but it was all bland, disappointing, or even bad. I don't get why everyone raves about it! So Mark, thank you for trying to rip me off of $10 bucks! And to add insult to injury, the food was a huge disappointment. I don't know who is in charge at the location, but Mark's attitude at this location seems to be the rule rather than the exception. I ordered $50 worth of food at Zaxby's but only thing that brough some satisfaction was the whopping $10 refund instead - talk about taking the 'bite' out of my meal! read more

Well "area" being 45 minutes from DC but I'll take what I can get! Because it's so damn far, my housemates and I usually ordering a catering platter to bring home, so we can freeze them and meal prep the next couple weeks. Maybe it's cuz we do that they always give us extra! Not only that, but they've even thrown in a finger or two with our fries when we dine in as well (hell yeah)! Definitely not something to expect every time, but we appreciate the love, Zaxby's! This place also has a fancy coke machine. Other than an off day where every diet flavor was out, it's pretty dope. The location itself designated two doors enter and exit only, and the bathrooms are surprisingly clean even for COVID times. This rating is more-so a 3.5 for me. The chicken for me personally was very dry. There wasn't any flavor or seasoning so the taste of the chicken was very bland. My boyfriend enjoyed it more after dumping a lot of BBQ sauce onto the chicken. The fries and cheese curds however were very delicious. There was a bunch of seasoning on the fries which made me question why there wasn't this much seasoning on the chicken? Nonetheless both were good. The cheese curds tasted perfect with the ranch sauce. The toasted bread was delicious but one of the sides was a little burnt. It didn't bother me as much.
