The chicken was okay but not the best Korean fried chicken. Mild at the most. I would visit again only when I have less of choice.

I ordered the Korean tacos with fried chicken and lettuce and ranch sauce with a side of pickled radishes. The tacos were good, but a little sweet the radishes were delicious though! The chicken was a little bit spicy for me, however. I ordered through DoorDash and I do agree with others that it's a bit expensive. I mean, for three soft tacos, pickled radishes, and a can of soda, it's quite expensive with a small order. Food: 10/10 The wings here are probably the best Korean fried chicken. They come out super hot and crispy. I prefer the soy garlic flavor over hot. The lunch combo here is a great deal as you can choose a side to go with your chicken. I tried the dumplings for the first time and they were okay. The service was great. As a korean I'm ashamed that this food is being advertised as korean other than the fried chicken. The portions have shrunk dramatically in terms of drum size, etc. It's a joke. Bonchon is one of the most nostalgic restaurants I have in this area and I have frequented quite a many back in the day. I went today to see if it lived up to the charm it had as a child and it certainly didn't match my loving memory. The ambiance was a bit disappointing: the restaurant was completely empty. And while the food was good it was definitely not worth the price. Service was ok. I think in the future I will leave Bonchon as a pleasant memory and not go again to ruin that which what I once had. read more

Only KFC I like is Korean Fried Chicken and I have to say, for a Franchise NoVA does Bonchon RIGHT. No shade to my Orlando Bonchon but it's just a different level better here. Triple fried skin and the crispiness with adequote not too much soy (honey) garlic is just the perfect synchrony, you know? This is why I was looking forward to being back in NoVA. I had to cancel my order and then reorder 1 hour later and they were cool about it too. I always enjoy visiting this part of VA as there's always a great selection of Korean comfort food available. Bonchon by far has the best Korean fried chicken - biting into that crispy honey glazed skin and sinking my teeth into that tender, juicy meat is pure heaven. I'd recommend their tteokbokki (has cheese and glass noodles), although it's very spicy for those who prefer milder spice levels. I love spicy food and can handle it fairly well, but the slow intense burn ended up making my eyes and nose run. If you're sensitive to spicy food, steer clear! My nephew wanted the bulgogi rice which he enjoyed, but was too dry for my taste. The takoyaki wasn't anything the write home about. The staff were very efficient and friendly. They were prompt and attentive without being intrusive - while Bonchon is well known for their take out chicken, this location was also great for a sit down meal family. I'd recommend it for sure if you want to enjoy a comfortable Korean chicken and beer meal with friends and family! read more

If I could give this location zero stars I would. My husband called on Dec 30th to ask if they were open on New Year's Day and was told they were, so we placed an order for pickup today at 11:45AM. We arrived to pickup our order and the location was closed (there was one other person trying to pick up at the same time). My husband received a text that the location was closed at 11:46AM...one minute AFTER we were scheduled to pick up. We ordered yesterday and paid online...we should not have been able to order for a day they were scheduled to be closed. This location had to know they had orders for today before 11:46 and waited until last minute to let customers know. Very bad way to do business and treat customers. read more

If you haven't had their soy garlic chicken, you're not living. Easily some of the best fried chicken you can get at a chain. Furthermore, their other menu items like their pork buns and japchae are delicious. Definitely a favorite of mine, but only reserved for pay days, since their menu is quite steep. I recently gone. It was overall a 10 out of 10. we got 3 orders of the 8 piece spicy wings and the garlic wings and they just blew my mind. they were so crispy and juicy, it was perfect. We also got the tteokbokki, it was cooked perfectly, and the spice was definitely there, but it was great. We lastly got the popcorn shrimp and fried rice. It was also perfect. It came out to around $90 but don't let that scare you because the quality of the food was well worth the price. The service was really fast and the server was very kind and welcoming. The ambience of the restaurant was really calming. There are some TV screens, much options for seating, and light music. If I'm ever in the area again, I will be coming back. Best Korean fried chicken! The boneless and bone-in both taste amazing. I always do pick up orders and it takes around 25 minutes to be ready. They are hot and fresh whenever I pick up. The tteokbokki was more salty, was expecting some sweet. The bibimbap rice was hard. The chicken wings tasted good. Second visit- The pork buns tasted good. The chicken katsu was dry and the rice was hard. The japchae was salty. We ordered takeout, paying more than $50 for lunch no eating utensils or napkins came with the order. Pros: is it my imagination or does this location have more options than the one near my childhood home in Katy, TX? This one has clay pot rice, large chicken legs, and noodles along with the usual wings and fries. I like the crunchy sweet coating. Cons: my husband didn't like the noodles. Five stars for having the best wings I've ever had. I've had my fair share of wings in my old age and there's no doubt these wings are the best. These are Korean style wings, which is almost sacrilegious to claim the best is not a buffalo wing, but these wings have so much more flavor. It's unlike any other crunch you've experienced. The batter is packed with flavor and the meat is juicy and tender inside. The rest of the menu is a selection of the most popular Korean dishes (bulgogi bowl, bibim bop roll, rice cake, soups, etc.) and some other miscellaneous items like sushi. So glad there is a Bonchon close to home. Ordered take out from here. There were a couple mix up's but we brought it to their attention. Employees were very sweet and kindly fixed any issues with our order. The restaurant was super packed the day we placed an order, as well as the restaurant just opened not too long ago. I suggest calling and placing your order 30 mins prior to dinning in or picking up your order. The chicken can take some time to prepare. Aside from a few bumps in the road at the beginning, I'm glad to say the flavors are all there. Their chicken is delicious and well prepared. The sides and other entrees were on point as well. Our order was neatly wrapped. There is quite a bit of seating in here, but the restaurant does get packed on weekends. Sad to see Rangoli gone, but Bon Chon is a nice addition to our neighborhood. read more
