Quick and friendly service. There is usually some reggaeton hits playing through the house speakers. The salsa that comes with the tortilla chips is great. I usually get the pollo saltado, which is one of my friendly Peruvian dishes. However, I've noticed the last few times I've been there, the dish has more and more French fries, onions and peppers and less and less chicken. Meh, hit and miss. Last time I was here it was good, not great but good. This time chicken was flimsy and dry and fries were gross.

The service is absolutely wonderful. Very nice ambiance, the music is very lively. There is a very authentic Puruvian feel here, as if you are at a little food shop in Peru. The chips are fresh and the salsa is home made, they are very delicious. I ordered the Polo Guisado and the Papa Relllena. I expected more of a stew than what came out. I can't complain it was a very large piece of white meat chicken, I ordered dark meat, but they did not have it ready yet. I came pretty early. The picture is attached. It had good flavor, and the chicken was not dry, but I could not really enjoy the broth or the stew, so they brought me a bowl of the juice out. Now, when I got that it changed my view, it was good. The Papa Rellena was different, everything stuffed in a potato. It was good too, just different with good flavor. You have to try the Chicha Moreda.... this juice with cinnamon is awesome. Basura! This place is absolute garbage. This was our second time there. The first time we thought maybe they were having an off day between the waitress and the kitchen they couldn't get their ish together. TODAY we came back and between the loud melancholic music at the bar and the radio blasting in the back room we couldn't even talk to each other. Forget that part, my fiancé asked for a quarter chicken dark with rice, her daughter asked for a chaufa con carne and I asked for a Peruvian tamal and a quarter chic dark. When the food comes out my fiancés chicken is completely cold and instead of a tamal I received a cold papa rellena. I told her it was fine that I'll just eat it but my fiancés chicken was cold. She took it back and brought a dry quarter white (yes she got Brest instead of dark COLD AGAIN. I got my quarter dark and when I took the first bite it was RAW CHICKEN I told the waitress we were done and that i'm not eating raw chicken and she had the nerve to tell me "they will take my raw chicken off the bill" lmao damn right i'm not paying for that garbage! we ordered walk-up take out of two whole roasted chickens. Waiting for our food took almost 30 minutes, and the restaurant wasn't that busy so there's really no explanation for the slow service. The chicken was delicious. The habanero salsa is also spectacular, and though it may be a bit too hot for locals' tastebuds, if you like spicy dont be afraid to try it. The green sauce wasn't spicy at all and frankly was rather bland. The sides are VERY small and very limited. You get two sides per chicken so we ordered the beans and the white rice. The beans also come in brown, white, and black, but thats the extent of the sides universe - which is very atypical of your average Peruvian restaurant. There were some other a la carte sides (like the maduros, which were delicious) but everything that 'came' with the chicken was very small and limited. So, get extra sides. So, long story short, order ahead and go with patience. But the food wasnt anything I'd be dying to eat again. Los of other Peruvian chicken restaurants that definitely stand out.... read more

Just arrived home with our first time order from this restaurant. Daughter found 2 long strains of hair in her Pollo Saltado. Needless to say, my wife and daughter are heading back to the restaurant to return. I ate my half chicken, which was dry and lacking the normal tasty flavor of Pollo a la brasa. Our dog liked the chicken, though. We should've ran when we realized that the workers didn't have their masks on. When you think about it... if they don't care for their health or their customer's, then what care are they going to give for food safety. We won't be coming back! Definitely don't recommend this place... run! UPDATE: My wife tried to return our order and the cook tried to hit her when she started to record his aggressive behavior and unmasked yelling at my wife. I called yesterday to place and order for pick up for my kids during my lunch break. I requested to speak with owner Luz because every time I call the restaurant to order, the service there is horrible and worst thing they don't greet the customers with respect. Anyway... when I requested to speak with the owner, the cashier literally hung up on me twice. When I called again and cashier answered, she continued with her rudeness and I finally was able to speak with Luz. I explained to her what happened and she didn't have the courtesy to apologize about what happened. And when I told Luz I want to cancel my order for the way I was treated, she literally said ok and hung up on me. She literally careless about the customers. PS: there's been numerous time when I call to order and request to speak with the owner, Luz seems to change her name when I call, until I say " Luz, is that you, and there's when she admitted is her" I would never go back to that place. We went to the new one in Leesburg next to the Pho place. We were shopping for Thanksgiving, and we were hungry. We went at an off time, around 3:30 pm. The place was nearly empty. I ordered Pollo Saltato, my wife ordered seafood soup. The chicken in my dish was over-cooked -- it was hard and dry. My wife said that the seafood soup had almost no flavor. She had to pour a bunch of sauce into It, but it still wasn't tasty. The Coke was so watered down that it tasted like...well...water. In addition, the place is dingy and kind of depressing. 2 stars because the Papusa's really were very good, and if I had to review on the Papusas alone it would have gotten better reviews. I ordered a chicken Tamale as well and it came out soggy and looking like someone had already started to eat it. I tried a bite but it was so soggy that I couldn't make myself eat it. I politely informed the waitress of this and she took it back but after that point became extremely rude. She dropped the new tamale on the table when she brought it back out and then never came back. (It was also very watery and just not good.) We had to wave down another server to get the check. The owner sat us to our seats and we were helped by a female waitress. She spoke minimal English and was really weird about giving us napkins...she kept pointing to the one wrapping the utensils and was mad that I wanted extra. We got complimentary chips and salsa. The salsa was gross. I don't know how to describe the flavor but it tasted old and tart. Seriously, who puts carrots in salsa? I ordered the 1/4 chicken with two sides (fried yuca and salad). The chicken was so moist and well-seasoned! The fried yuca was really good too-- not dry and stale like I've had at other Peruvian chicken joints. Tamal salvadoreño was ok. The location is not great, kind of off the beaten track but worth finding. In a small little strip mall - off to the side of a strip mall. It is relatively new and the decor is a little odd or unfinished, I am not sure which. The people working and serving are wonderful, very friendly and helpful. The restaurant is very clean. The food was delicious. The chips and salsa they bring out to the table when you first arrive were good. We ordered the house special - roasted chicken, and it was outstanding. The other dish was a thin steak with an egg on top and a side salad and plantains. Very good! We stopped here for lunch intending just to have some ice cream at the dairy Queen next door. The restaurant was very clean and the staff were friendly. I ordered a papusa, one of my favorites if offered, and it was fantastic with crunchy tangy cabbage. My daughter had a chicken quesadilla which had tender perfectly cooked all white meat chicken. My wife noticed Peruvian corn with cheese. We immediately remembered our train ride in Peru when locals were selling huge ears of corn with a thick slab of white cheese. We wanted to try it, but had recently recovered from horrible dysentery earlier in the trip. Anyway, my wife quickly ordered the corn at this restaurant and loved it. Huge corn kernels with a texture more like tender steak and a delicate white cheese. My father ordered ceviche with shrimp, one of his favorites, and he loved his too. My family and I went to eat here yesterday. We probably eat here 3-4 times a month since we moved here. We ordered 2 whole chicken meals like usual. The cook came around to the front to open the rotisserie to get the chicken out. He pulled the whole rod out that had 5-6 chickens on it. I was looking at him the whole time because we were wondering how many chickens they would have in there since they are a Pollo restaurant. He started to walk over to the to take the chicken off to put them on the cutting table when one end dropped down and all the chickens slid off down to the floor. He bent down 3 times real quick all the way to the floor back up to the table height. He then took 2 chickens to the back when I know he usually cuts them right up front. I looked at my wife and asked did he just drop those and is acting like nothing happened. We watched the waitresses walk through that area like nothing was up. I got up and went and looked on the floor and sure enough there was chicken skin and grease along with the little ropes that they tie the legs together all over the floor. I asked the cashier if he just dropped everything and she said she didn't notice anything. I pointed to the floor and then she went to the back. Then the waitresses started whispering to each other and a lady with a hairnet came up front and said that all the chickens that fell on the floor he threw in the trash but there was only one chicken in the trash. Then the cook comes back around with 2 cut chickens on two separate plates. If there were six chickens on one rod and they all fell and he bent over multiple times that would mean that there was more than one chicken that hit the floor. We paid for our drinks and then left and they didn't even try to pull new chickens out of the rotisserie to make things right. The chickens that fell on the floor stayed on the cooking countertop getting ready to be prepared for someone else to eat. There was also cleaning chemicals down on the floor which makes this a serious health hazard. Who knows what goes on in the back. read more

However, this past week my friend and I decided to give it a try at the Leesburg location. overall it was great. Decoration : Don't expect peruvian decoration. Food: `Ceviche: don't bother trying it not good at all. Lomo Saltado: OMG! it was delicious, I will recommend it 100% I will go back for this. Drink: `Chicha Morada: it was delicious, however it cost around $8, so not sure if I will drink that again or maybe just for a special occasion. Strange place. Half set-up cooking equipment strewn everywhere and almost nothing to suggest that this is anything but a hospital cafeteria. Zero atmosphere. Nobody greets you or even attempts to greet you when you walk in. the strangest salsa I've tried in quite some time. Also, the spanish version of 'Hollow Man' on the tv complete with frontal nudity was surprising for myself and the families eating there at the same time. The sopa de pollo was ok. Not great, not terrible. Not sure if it's worth $10 and change.
