Your experience here all depends on what you get and who you get. If you look at the three fingers to the left they're sort of shaped weird and my pointer finger is nicely shaped. The reason why the pointer finger is nice is because I broke my nail and had to go back in and I got the younger girl who works by the man on the left side of all the manicurist. Originally when I first got my full set done the lady rushed because it was an hour near closing so I guess she just wanted to leave. Before I left, my nails were still sticky and I asked another lady to put acetone on my nails and she noticed my nails weren't all that great so she tried her best to fix them which I appreciated. This isn't a bad nail shop but if you like acrylics and you're picky on the shape I recommend going to the man(please forgive, I don't know his name) or the girl next to him. read more

I liked their service most of the time but because I had commented on a slightly crooked toenail and this wasn't a consistent thing, and it also wasn't a complaint, just a comment and I'm always conscious of the way I communicate as I'm a hairstylist too. ...at the end of that service Nina said I was too picky and she told me to find someone else. I should have known what was coming with a rating of 3.5 stars...but I was desperate on a Saturday morning to get my nails done. I called around 9:20 asking if they had time for a mani pedi and I was told to come in right away. When I walked through the door about 5 minutes later they were ready. I felt rushed the entire time which is a huge no-no for me when going to the nail salon to get pampered. My pedicure was fast which was nice. I got a full set and was there for about an hour and a half. The lady made my cuticles bleed by continuously going over them with the drill. I asked her to cut the nails down and she assured me that after filing they'd be shorter--I'm now left with nails much longer than I'm used to. The woman who did my nails was visibly irritated and impatient which was a huge turnoff. I ended up just getting gel polish because the lady doing my nails seemed to be so annoyed. There were people who arrived before me, got full-sets and left way before me. I won't be back as I'm not a fan of manicurists not listening to my requests and then being visibly upset with me. read more

Mp nails is prejudice towards persons with disability's! When I got my manicure I was told that it was the first and last time that I could ever get my nails done with them because my hand shook too much.... 1 star. Let me explain to you why. I will try to keep this short and pleasant to read. SLOPPY. Not just in the appearance but your staff. I am appalled by the unprofessional and outrageously rude staff and respect to your clients. Appointments at 6:30 for pedi. Got into the chairs at 7:00. Sat with hot/warm water until it was completely cold! Not even room temp. Then the First Lady comes and starts. 5 mins in the next joins to assist my friend. Lady working on my friend was RUDE! Was looking people up and down and laughing and then talking mess to her coworkers about it. Which is obvious in ANY language. Then when asked if we wanted sea salt or manicure and said no she rolled her eyes and proceeded to talk more mess to her coworkers. End result: My toes were OK. Fine. Nothing spectacular any other place does just as good or better. My friends toes were uneven and sloppy. When asked to simply trim down one to match the other the lady starts complaining saying how she already did 3 coats, it's your nail bed not what I did, etc. The woman and us are irritated already. Just fix your mistake and we can go. So she starts taking both big toe polish off. To argue about the nail bed itself! Which was unnecessary all she had to do was remove one and trim and repaint it. She then complained the entire time and had attitude. Then the lady when we were paying tried to keep the change for tip! Without asking us if that was even okay. No, I'm sorry you do not deserve anything extra. You're lucky we even stayed and gave you business. Want a tip? Treat your clientele with respect and do your job. If you spent as much time and attention to what your task was instead of talking about others you wouldn't have had to redo it. We will not be back. read more

NEVER coming back to this place. I made 6:30 appointments for pedis for me and a friend and we weren't seated for 30 minutes. We sat in the chairs for so long that the water was freezing cold. When there was finally someone to start on my pedi she rolled her eyes and gave me attitude when I simply asked if she could add warm water To the freezing tub. Honestly I should have left then. This lady was not paying attention to my pedi at all. She was too busy smirking and talking with everyone else in the shop. When she finally finished, my big toes were cut unevenly. When I asked her to even then out she gave me attitude and argued with me. Then she proceeded to take the polish off of BOTH of my big toes to prove her point that I was wrong and she was right. Her attitude was very childish and I will never go bad. Avoid this place! There are other shops in Pinole that actually have respectful employees. read more

Giving them a 4 star since the place doesn't look as clean as others, but she did make sure to clean my nails with alcohol after each step. The massage was very short as well. I found this place via Yelp. Tried it with my daughter for Mothers Day mani/pedi for me, pedi for her. Although I made appointments well in advance, I had to wait 45 minutes and my daughter waited an hour. First red flag as our time is too valuable to wait that long after having made appointments so long in advance. I took it in stride as I figured it was Mothers Day and they took more appointments than normal probably. When the manicurist did the base coat, color and top coat of my nails, she rushed through and did not cover the whole nail with the color or base/top coat. I pointed out a couple of the more obvious spots to her to fix. I wasn't too happy with it. Two days after the manicure, the color came off in quite a few spots. Today, one week later, my daughter came back for her manicure to match the polish on her toes as she has her prom today. I made an appointment for her at their opening time to make sure she wouldn't have to wait as we have lots to today. We arrived at 10:30 when they open; despite the appointment we made, she had to wait 35 minutes. And then, during her manicure, while trimming her cuticles, the manicurist cut her and made her bleed. We definitely won't be coming back to this particular shop. Maybe it's picky, but my pet peeve is having to wait once I've made an appointment. I gave it two tries as I like to give the benefit of doubt, but to wait that long after making an appointment at opening time is absolutely ridiculous. read more

I never write reviews but my experience at this place warrants one. I had an amazing experience here and the service and decent prices really made my day. It's still brand new so not a lot of people know about it yet but this is one of the nicest nail salons I've been to; numerous spa chairs and mani stations, great color selection and with such friendly staff. I'm going to start off with 3 stars. Hopefully they'll slowly increase. This is actually the best nail spa experience I've had in the East Bay. The owner Nina is really nice, but can at times be forgetful (I saw her seat 2 women in pedicure chairs when there were 2 young ladies who made appointments were still in the waiting area). Her husband Sam (small guy in the first chair to the left) is kinda dismissive, but that's unfortunately expected. Their polish choices are quite extensive. They have it all from OPI, orly to china glaze. I wish they had a better selection of mood colors, but Nina says noone requests it... Start requesting it people! Ugh... MP Nails.. Please take your appointments seriously. I discovered MP about a year ago when it was fairly new. I can't even tell you who I prefer anymore because my recent experiences have been a hit or a miss. I usually get a pedicure and a full set or gel mani. As time has progressed and they've gotten busier I feel they have hired any relative they have to keep up with the volume and I hardly ever see them take walk ins. However, they do allow anybody over the phone to just come in. The problem with this is I called for an appointment so you can take your time with ME. I've been cut about five times, hand and feet, in result to them rushing or being so involved in their own gossip. My acrylics don't last longer than a week now and sometimes they'll neglegantly put on a tip that doesn't even cover my whole nail. I've asked whoever is doing my nails to correct the mistake and they have no problem with it but really??...... I no longer can watch TV while sitting back for a pedi/mani without being anxious about being cut or making sure that each nail is done right. Two stars for the owners and their hospitality but I'm no longer settling for aunt or cousin to do a sucky job. read more

There was a time when this USED TO be my go to nail shop, but since there was a change in staff, I stopped going because the service went downhill for me. My now go-to nail shop was closed today so I gave this place one last shot. I went in for a regular mani/pedi with an acrylic removal. Off bat the lady who was assigned to me had the worst attitude, practically tossing my hands and feet left and right, huffing and puffing, and overall irritated TO DO HER JOB. I feel like if it were someone else in my shoes she would've gotten told off, but she was lucky that I had enough patience to deal with her stank attitude. Also, when it came to my mani, her attitude and mannerism GOT WORSE when she realized she wasn't removing gel but acrylics (mind you she examined my hands before the pedi and I clearly told her as well). Side note - why constantly offer to do gel manis on customers when you have problems removing them when they come back?!? Don't make no damn sense. Anyways, officially done with this place. You had your glory days, but bye felicia. Forever. If you're curious to know who the lady was - she had mid-length wavy hair with a bad ombrè and the only lady in there wearing heels. One of my BFF's convinced me to check out this new nail place in Pinole, right next door to Red Onion. This nail shop is huge. Very roomy, tons of space. They have a large flat screen TV mounted on the wall so you can watch TV while getting your nails did =) This shop is very organized and extremely clean. There is a little lounge area in the front for those who are waiting. The staff is very friendly. Tons of colors to choose from. I got a GEL MANICURE for $20. Sam applied the coats well esp on the sides and edges...He made sure my nails were dry before I left. They even have free WIFI, can't beat that. MP Nails totally made me feel relaxed and at home. Just moved back to the 510 and didn't have a regular nail spot so I tried this place out based on their positive reviews. I walked in around 4:30 on a Thursday and was greeted right away. I told them gel mani and a pedi. I sat down and they started my foot soak. Water wasn't very warm but I can live with that... The pedi was fine. She asked me to pick a gel color so she would pick a regular color to match as close as possible. Well the lady who offered to find a matching Polish got busy and forgot to pick a color.... Again this is ok with me. So the lady who did my pedi ended up working on the gel mani. She started to yawn. She didn't do a great job... She didn't paint all the way to the tips so it looks pretty faded on the tip. She mentioned how sleepy she was... And she wasn't kidding. After I left I noticed that some of my purple nail polish from my previous mani was still somewhat visible. Sucks for me but I should have caught that before leaving the place. They had me sit in the Spa Chair for 25 minutes before anyone helped me. My feet were getting wrinkled and the water was getting cold! I understand we came in late and you are busy, but the least you can do is either 1) Tell me you can't help me because your booked 2) Have me wait on the side When it came to both the Pedi/Manicure, homie rushed through it all. I had gotten a gel mani/pedi yesterday and I noticed that the place was dead. I don't know if it's because it's still winter but I'm used to seeing this placed pack. The one who gave me a pedicure kept talking so much and gripping my feet to go towards her way. The way she cleaned my toes was painful in a way it was like she does it on purpose. So 5 hours later my left big toe is in pain, red and swollen. The pain is coming from the cuticle bed. The side of the nail. I really hope I don't need to take antibiotics if this is an infection. (This is a review for a gel polish manicure, done by a woman at this nail shop) Im not a fan of paying for manicures unless, I have something to go to, but I had time to waste and like to try new nail spots. I've always walked out nail shops and thought I will never go there ever again, give no tip, and be pissed I paid 30 dollars, just to take it all off a couple of days after bc I can't stand to look at it anymore. Most places I think it just depends on the person doing you manicure, but here there was this lady who looked like the owner who would go around and look at how the nail technicians were doing, and even after asked me of I was pleased and looked at my nails.The lady that was doing my nails was sweet, I had nail polish on already and she did a great job removing all of, she went over my nails maybe three times to make sure it was all clean, filed and to my liking before she applied the gel polish. She was gentle when pushing my cuticles and didn't man handle my hands. She was fast and very efficient. I personally don't like to be chatted up when doing my nails and hate it when they try to tell me what polish, shape or additions I should get, she did none of that and but still have me a nice vibe. I'm very particular and she gave me exactly what I wanted. The place it self is very spacious and clean. Even though I don't live near by I would definitely make a special trip to get my nails done here again. Came here on a Monday after work with an appointment for a mani/pedi and had to take my shellac out. Got helped right away by a guy - unsure what his name is but he had on a hat. He did my mani and I liked the way it turned out. He was pretty quick too but it still looked good. He was too talkative which I liked. Was a little rough at times but maybe I'm just used to getting pampered. The person that did my pedi was okay but I think I like how my mani turned out better. The prices are very reasonable for a mani/pedi and the space is big. They have a sitting area with couches to wait and spa chairs. There's a parking lot but on the day that I was here, it was full. I think it gets taken over by the people going to Kumon next door. Will be coming here more often for the low price and good service. read more

Pretty cheap but you get what you pay for. $18 for regular pedicure and $20 for shellac manicure. I believe this is cheaper than what you can get around this area (let me know if I'm mistaken!). I tried calling all morning for an appointment but the phone was busy the whole time. Luckily there were only 2-3 people there when I went. Pedicure is good and they massage your calves and wrap your feet in warm towels. Shellac manicure was a bit odd since they initially pushed my cuticles with their nails! later on they used the metal tools to push it back more and eventually trimmed them. Don't expect any massage on the forearms though, only a short one on the hands. My favorite nail salon is in Berkeley but sometimes you need something more local for a quick session. Tip: use mode 1 on the massage chairs. mode 2 is so weak and slow! read more
