My biggest issue continues to be the OWNER repeatedly canceling my appointments. This has happened more than once, and it is extremely frustrating and unprofessional. Customers arrange their schedules around appointments, and our time should be respected too. What makes this especially disappointing is that the cancellations are coming from the owner herself. As the owner of a business, I would expect you to set the example when it comes to reliability, communication, and customer service. If a customer repeatedly canceled appointments, I'm sure it would be considered unacceptable and they could potentially be charged a cancellation fee. So why should customers be expected to simply accept repeated cancellations from the business? I have tried to be patient, but there is only so much inconvenience a customer should have to tolerate. I am leaving this review because this was genuinely my experience, and other customers deserve to know what they may encounter when booking here.

I wanted to just bring my highlights up and toner for the whole thing, but ended up with a full head lightening. I had like dirty blonde highlights. And I told her I do not like warm shades, but she insisted that that's what suits my skin. I lost all my dimension and the shade I loved, and ended up with platinum blonde and yellow roots. I really wanted to be okay, but then my trim, which I showed a picture for, ended up cutting off like all my hair when I explicitly asked for her to just take off the bulk at the back of my head where the disconnected grown out undercut is because it was getting super thick there. I asked for her to just freshen up the rest of my ends...she cut off like two inches of my short hair and now I have a pixie cut, which is not at all like the 90s curtain bangs crop I was growing out. It was the complete opposite. I have all these crazy, choppy layers in my hair and its super thin all over now. I had to go get toner done somewhere else to make the color not so terribly bright and hot near the roots still. I really don't like leaving bad reviews but I literally wanted to cry after I left because I came in asking for one thing and came out after hours later with the complete opposite of what I asked for. It's the liberty with the hair cut that really killed me. My hair is so short now that it has no flow, and I'm devastated.

Highly recommend to call in advance for their availability as they can get busy but I've had some successful walk-ins. Prices are good and make sure to tip well- they deserve it!

I came in by mistake this nail salon to the Fresh spa couple doors down. I had an appointment with Fresh Salon and Day Spa. Since i was new to the neighborhood, thinking that Van nails was the one i see on yelp. I came in and told the guy "i have an appointment at 6" He seem confuse so I told him I called earlier, and gave him my name. He know I was at the wrong place but took me in any way. He ask me what do i need? huumm thats odd, i talked to the lady on the phone when i called and told her what i need already but anyway i told him i wanted an Gel manicure and pedicure. He have me sit on the spa chair and let me soak my feet. the one of the lady ask me what color I want ? Told her i want white on both of my hand and feet. She inform me that she cant do white on my hand .....? What ? cant do WHITE on my hand? then another lady sit down and start on my pedicure. I swear I just saw her using the same tools box at the lady she just finish. Didnt wash her hand or clean the tools box and planning to use the same tools box on me? NO WAY!! So i told her i wanted the clean tools. She seem to ignore me and trying to take off my nail polish. this is #odd. from what i see on Yelp the spa i have an appointment with is very clean. THis place look and feel nothing like it. So, I went back on YELP and look at the name on the spa one more time. It wasnt VAN Nail, so i confirm with the guy, asked him if he sure i have an appointment here ? He said "yeah yeah, we do for you." He lied to me ! On their price list there was no option to add a 15 minute massage so how would I have known. The employee had just put the choices of scents out and asked which one I wanted. When I checked in, I only requested a classic pedicure. I really did enjoy the service, but I felt a bit taken advantage of with charges added that I did not request or knowingly approve. I wanted to share this to avoid this happening to others.
