Made an appointment for mani/pedis at 1pm on a Friday - it was my BF's first time. When we arrived we had to wait for chairs to open - no big deal, this happens. After a few mins, a super friendly woman seated both of us, set me up with a foot soak and began to take care of my BF. During this time 2 more people came into the salon. I watched one woman get seated immediately for her manicure; the other was seated for a pedicure and told to wait. A tech came out to start the manicure then when the other tech was available she headed over to the 2nd woman who came in after us. I had been sitting for nearly 10 min by this point. My BF's tech noticed what I was witnesses and said something. After that one of them reluctantly came over to take care of me. It was a strange vibe and a bit irritating b/c I actually made an appointment and had already been waiting. So that is why I am taking a star away. I have been going to Jade Nails Salon in Hercules for about 3 and a half years now and I keep coming back because it's just that good. Everyone who works in that salon is wonderful. They are all so nice, professional and talented, especially the owner Jade who I specifically see for my manicures :) As a nurse, I super appreciate how clean they are too. Two hours for a basic pedicure as a first-time customer is absolutely unacceptable. If anything, a salon should put their best nail tech with new customers to make a good impression. Never again. The work was not worth two hours, and to make it worse, the owner only came over to "check" after two hours had already passed. At that point, an apology feels meaningless. As an owner, you should step in the moment you see something is wrong not wait until the service drags on that long. They were watching me struggle with this pedicure with their nail guy the entire time. I had to file my own nails and still did nothing until the end. That's a major red flag. Being nice after the fact doesn't fix poor service. Please do better as an owner. Save your time, money, and go elsewhere. The pedicure alone was 67 dollars for a terrible job! Linda and the technician who did my pedicure were very nice and professional, and the place itself is quite clean with generally professional staff. However, the technician who did my manicure did not provide the Cat Eye gel treatment as expected; it looked like regular gel polish instead. She also did not ask about my preferences when she was cutting my nail and three of my fingers were bleeding and she was quite rude. Unfortunately, I would not use her service ever again. My sister and I scheduled an appointment for two gel manicures and one gel pedicure on Saturday at 10 AM. I called two days in advance to ensure availability. We arrived at 10:06, checked in, and were told to have a seat. Ten minutes passed, and no one had attended to us. All the nail technicians were busy, and two women who had just been seated were barely starting their services. The remaining customers were still in the middle of their appointments. Despite making eye contact and trying to get the attention of the staff member who checked us in, there was no acknowledgment or sense of urgency to assist us. This lack of professionalism and empathy made this our first and last visit. ~~~ POST SERVICE ~~~ The service took about an hour. While the nail tech was gentle and didn't rush, there were some issues. I originally wanted a dark chocolate brown polish, but the color selection was limited, so I settled for "Bubble Bath" by OPI. The nail tech didn't fully remove my previous dark red polish, assuming I'd pick another dark color. When I chose a light, sheer shade instead, she had to backtrack and file off the leftover red, which added unnecessary time. The final result was just okay. Despite applying three coats of gel polish, the finish was uneven and patchy. By the end, I was ready to leave. The hand massage lasted about 30 seconds and was followed by a hot towel, but then the same towel used to clean the cuticle tool was reused on my hands--unhygienic and disappointing. The lady who delivered my pedi took her time and was efficient in taking care of my feet as if the service was important for her to deliver. My mani on the other hand was beyond rushed it was basically a quick polish that lacked shaping (I shaped with a nail file at home, see photos) and I received a few seconds of lotion rub on my hand complemented with a hot towel. Vibe was off , didn't feel valued . Mix feelings of whether I will be back. If I do it most likely be for a needed pedi . this was my first time coming here and i was very excited to see there was a place with cute nail art in hercules. unfortunately, i was not happy with my service and experience so i will not be coming back. i came in on christmas eve for a manicure with dip powder because i wanted to wash my hair and my nails were lifted. i was very happy to hear that this salon was open and they said i could come in in 30 mins (10:30am). i thought it would be a quick fix since i called and asked when i could come in. i came at that time and was seated after 10 mins or so with a bowl of acetone and a paper towel. since i was just sitting there, i took the time to remove the previous dip powder and gel polish myself. by 11:30 the lady finally came over to work on my nails. i've only had dip powder 2 other times, and at those appointments, the nail tech would brush glue on my nail, then dip it into the powder, and repeat this 3-4 times. then, they would put 1-2 coats of the matching gel polish, then use a top coat. at this appointment, the nail tech brushed the glue, and gave 3 applications of powder, then put top coat on. no gel polish applied, so the color was very light and not what i expected. i wasn't really sure what usual method for dip powder was and i was in a rush, so i didn't question it. when it came to payment, she said it was $65, and i was confused because the prices on the wall said it was $55. the lady next to her, who i assume is the business owner, said it was extra because of the removal of the previous dip powder. i instantly apologized for my mistake and paid and left. then i remembered that i had actually done the complete removal myself, so i felt a little cheated as i had to wait an hour past my time to be seen, and did the removal process myself. it wasn't gonna be a big deal, but the very next day, the polish chipped off the tip on the left hand middle nail. i went back into the salon on that monday afternoon (12/29) to have it repaired, and at this appointment, she applied the dip powder like how you would see them apply acrylic powder. she didn't charge me anything, but i felt inclined to tip because she worked on me and gave me her time. then that same day, the thumb nail polish chipped off, and at this point i became over coming back to fix it. it's now less than 2 weeks since the appointment and everything is chipping off. although, the middle nail that she repaired is still in tact. like i said, im not exactly sure of the techniques used to apply dip powder, but i do really think that a matching gel polish should have been applied to make it long lasting. maybe they don't do that here? im just gonna get it fixed by the other place that did it for me last time. read more

I love coming here. I don't live too far from here so when I need my nails done at the last minute, I'm able to call and find time to get my nails done. They're super efficient and I never need to wait long even if they're running late, which is rare (in my experience). It's not only relaxing to hang out on the massage chair while your feet get soaked in warm water, but it's also nice to have interesting conversations about life with Vi. My nails always look so good afterwards and sometimes I let her pick my colors when I'm indecisive. She does such a fantastic job with getting my nails so clean and polished. read more

Don't you hate when you go get your mani and pedi done. You tell them what you wanted? This lady insisted that I should do pink base for my pedi. I specifically told them white with chrome I dont want it too pink. I showed her the picture because i previously had it done in same place but different lady. I saw the final result for pedi I didn't like it and she knew I didn't like it. She was not paying attention because she kept looking at her phone and texting. Then I told her I wanted white with chrome and said my pedi is too pink. She did the white and again didn't pay attention because she's on her phone. She was getting irritated because the left 2 side of my nails came out yellowish I stopped her there and said its too yellow. Made an appointment for 9 am, showed up at 845am, and was able to get started. One of the few salons that do the new GelX manicures which is why I wanted to come here. Nice setup and one huge tv facing the pedicure chairs. The older lady who did my pedicure was precise and did a great job painting them. My gel extensions kept switching between two ladies (I didn't catch their names). One prepped my nails and another glued the extensions but left air bubbles which is why I took off a star. Esp if your design is showing a natural finish base, air bubbles shouldn't be acceptable. The other lady did the design and painting which I kept having to tell her to fix because it wasn't symmetrical. I left satisfied but questioned if I would ever go back for gel extensions because of the air bubbles which I could've done myself haha. I have been going to the place for years. Never had a problem with service or the quality of work. However, until recently the quality of work has been going down hill and also the service. The last time I went there which was like a month ago I got my normal pedicure and after I was done I noticed a lot of bubbles and the polish wasn't done great. Then, recently I was trying to get service done again and wanted to use a gift certificate that I received, however, there was an expiration date on there and yes, it was my fault for not paying attention to it. The woman that I spoke to would not accommodate and basically that business is keeping the value of the gift certificate. I even tried to explain to her that in CA there is no such thing of expiration dates on gift certificates. It makes me furious that a local business that I've been supporting for years took my money and did not accommodate a service in which it was intended for.
