I really want to love this place bc it's so close to my house and so continent but their issue is they never listen. I ask for square pedicure and have to keep repeating myself because they want to make my toenails round. Then they get mad and talk about you in their language to the other workers. Not to mention the acrylic nail. Never in my 29 years of life have a went to a nail salon that not only CUT ME, the acrylic bubbled. Every. SINGLE. Nail. Had about 20 bubbles per nail and the young man could not do a thin French tip to save his life. Out of town, do my own nails, but struggle with designs. I was looking for a place to get my nails done on the way to el cerrito. Walked in and the lady at the front didn't notice I was coming in. She wasn't very busy, but she was sweet. I asked her if she could do design on a picture she said yes but she seemed unsure. I told her it was okay if she couldn't do it but she insisted. When picking out the color, she got frustrated with me about picking out the color. All I asked her for was to see the swatches and she was bothered that I didn't pick the colors that she had picked out. Ultimately I had to ask her to stop trying and just ended up with a partial design, I understand that it's not going to be just like the picture, and the picture should be some inspo, but this just didn't hit the mark for me. Got a pedicure here for the first time, and I will probably return. The things I liked were: they take walk-ins; the area is spacious so you aren't cramped and breathing fumes from other's manicures; they used a treatment to help stop a splitting toenail I have. The pedicure result was about the same in quality as anywhere else (maybe a little less flawless) and the foot massage less lengthy. read more

When I lived in Pinole, I frequented this salon for my quality full service nail and spa treatments. The ladies there always took care of me. The prices were always fair. Okay I obviously have not updated you guys on why I stopped coming here. This place tanked faster than the titanic for me. I stopped going here after I updated my review in 6.2019. I specifically called and asked to get my nails done by Nina and I walk in and she sends me to EVERYONE ELSE! Nancy, Sam, Lynn whoever. Lynn was the last person who did my nails and KILLED my nails. She over filed my nail bed it had a divit! It hurt sooo bad! And all they do is talk mad disrespect about every customer in vietnamese. The prices I also noticed were never consistent. My pedicure was worth every penny. My technician (she said her name was Nina?) was gentle and very understanding about my particular shortcomings and pains regarding my feet. It's been a few years since my last pedicure so she had her work cut out for her. My feet feel so much better. My manicure was good too. I like the massage chair. Solved some sore muscle issues. Walked in, no appointment. Only one person in chair. I asked for manicure. I told him they were my nails except two. I needed one nail with an acrylic tip and a design. They don't listen. A 30 minute salon trip turned into an 90 minute trip. For the nail that was broken, instead of her adding a acrylic tip, she decided to make a nail. I kept asking her what is she doing. I could not understand what she was saying and she was ignoring me when I would ask. She cut my finger. After about 45 minutes of her working on one finger and she said do you like, I said no. That's not what I asked for. Another woman finally came over and did what I asked for plus a design. I will never go back. By the time I got home, the nail (which is my own nail) on my baby fingers were split on the sides. One was split so far down, I could see the fatty part of my finger. It was so sore, I couldn't touch it for a few days. I type a lot for work. Now the baby finger nail is split on my right hand, but not as far down. I have 9 fingers with nails and a design. I don't want to go to any nail salons now. I thought it would easier having my own long nails, no acrylic nails but it's not. I have had my own nails for 2 months. Go to this shop and my nails are breaking. No I would not recommend this shop. The second lady was good, she listened but an hour later. If the second lady would have done my nails first, I would give them a four star. So one star for first lady because you can't give zero stars. Although the second lady was good, I will never go back. And like another person said, they start talking about you in their language which is so rude, especially when you don't listen to what the customer is asking you to do. I like stones added to my ring fingers. Both stones fell off the next day. She used finer nail polish to add the stone, no glue, fingernail polish. read more

My wife took our daughter to get her nails done for the first time. This experience was very bad. They are very rude, we are the only ones here there's no need to be rude. They asked my wife what color does my daughter want, and my wife replied ask her she will tell you. They were very rude to my daughter while picking, they seemed like they did not even want to be there. This is our first and last time at this place I am hoping my daughter will get her nails done again after this experience. OKAY. So, I searched around for a place to just get my acrylics taken off because I completely broke off the entire nail on my right ring finger. I tried to walk in to a few places where I had been running my errands, but no one could take me. Finally, I called MP to see if they were able to take off my nails and hopefully just make them look somewhat acceptable, and they told me to come on in. NOW, if only I could have shown you a before picture, to have you truly understand the MAGIC that my technician, Tony, did on what I considered my poor, hopeless nails. He shaped them perfectly, completely cleaned up my cuticles, and suggested this opaque gel color to cover up the damage my acrylics had done, and keep them from breaking. I have been a regular here for at least 5 years. It's my go-to spot for both my nails (dip & gel) and most importantly - my eyebrow waxing! I have pretty strong feelings about how I like my brows to look and at MP they get it right every time! Not to sound like a diva, but I actually don't trust any other salon with my brows. When it comes to the nail techs, some are better than others, so unless you ask for one by name it's really left to who is available. Also, I would advise to make an appointment during busy times which appear to be weekdays after 5 PM and weekends. I've been here a few times. The first two shellac mani's were perfect. Not rushed, had full polish on each nail, you can tell they really took there time to provide the best service. Today. Angie does my nails. White. Shellac mani. Salon wasn't busy at all. There were probably 2 other people getting their nails done. So Angie had time to work on me. I'm disappointed because with the time she spent on me. She didn't rush but also didn't fully give me the works of a proper manicure. The manicure was messy, and sloppy. She didn't fully clean the cuticles, she filed my nails and they were all un even. And when she applied polish she wouldn't apply it to the full nail so it looks like she legit missed a spot or two or 10. In addition to that, you can tell she didn't fully clean your nails because the polish kept getting on the ends and she would just try to clean it up. Horrible... I wasn't rude. Every issue I had with her fuck ups, I politely asked her to fix. Even tipped her. But I will never go back to her. I am disabled, MS, use a Walker, canes now, sometimes my electric scooter if having a challenging day. I am always treated with respect and kindness, and they do a great job. I visited this salon to get a pedicure and a natural looking acrylic manicure. Andy did a PHENOMENAL job on my toes. I am seriously so in love. However, I think there was a communication issue between him and the female manager as to what I wanted for my nails. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she said Andy would do it. When explaining to Andy that I want to keep as much of my natural nail as possible so they could grow our, I think that's all the information he received. He finished doing my nails and I asked for an underarm wax. When getting the underarm wax, I really took a look at my nails and they looked awful. They were already lifting and parts of my nail didn't even have the acrylic on it. They were so uneven and thick. On top of that, this location DOUBLE DIPS WITH THEIR WAX STICKS which is so unsanitary. For the nail part, I just disregarded it until it was time to pay. When she walked me up to the front, she informed me it was $23 for my nails $20 for the fake acrylic and $3 for the gel top coat. I could swallow $10 but $23 for this job was ridiculous. I showed her my nails and said that the job does not reflect the price and she told me to come back on Sunday at 1030 to get them fixed. Well, today I walked in and she totally forgot about my appointment. I waited an additional 25 minutes before being helped. Shan redid my nails for me - not to what I wanted but it was close enough and satisfactory. When he was finished he tried to charge me $10.99!!! For what! For you fixing a bad nail job that your manager previously acknowledged?!?! I was going to top him but first I asked him what is the charge for and he told me to forget it. He just walked off and started explaining the situation to the other nail techs. Super rude and embarrassing. At least explain your stance to me and we can come to an agreement. I am torn between coming back to this place again for the amazing pedicure job or just kissing it goodbye. It's probably not worth the hassle or bad business practice. read more

I'm quite baffled at some of the reviews because I've been coming here for years. I will say that they are not racist at all towards African Americans every time I have been there. Maybe a misunderstanding. But being in Pinole, it's a very diverse crowd. I always see this establishment with different ethnicities and mainly African Americans and never I saw them act discriminatory towards anyone. I have witnessed some subtle rude actions towards anyone but not towards a race . I say this because if I have witnessed an inkling of that, I wouldn't come here. There was one time a young girl that came in and was kicked out because she outright threatened to sue if her nail bleeds, when her nail was broken to the middle and I wouldn't even Touch that because it is inevitably going to bleed of how it's broken. I really hope these accusations have merit because I've always liked this place and yes service can differ from who u get at times, but racial, no. I have even seen stereotypical comments the other way around like "y'all look alike" . Come on. My only thing is I wish they can be more creative with their nail painting and designs . read more

I went there to take my daughter to get her nails done for her 5th birthday. While being there, I got a gel manicure as well as a gel pedicure along with my mom. My other daughter got a full set and my 3 year old got a gel manicure. The service was amazing. This was my second time coming here and my daughters and my moms first time. The ladies and gentlemen's that helped us were amazing! Wendy did my gel pedicure and gel manicure. She is bomb! Great customer service and very friendly. This nail salon is so close to home. It's not my favorite but it's quick and gets the job done. No complaints. Walked in for a typical pedi and gel mani. No issue, everything's fine. Seen quickly. She's cutting my cuticles and cuts a little too deep on my thumb and I can immediately feel it and see it. I'm not upset; it's a tiny thing. I acknowledge it and her immediate response is to tell me "oh are you sore?" Trying to imply I already had a cut there. I tell her "no, you cut it" and she literally goes on and is trying to show and explain to ME how I must have had this beforehand because it wouldn't show that quick. LADY... WHAT???
