this place was terrible i went there in the evening (5:30) i went in to have powder removed and…read morecontinue with a mani/petti. my natural nails are extremely long and strong. the wax removal process started with the technician using the electric tool she says to remove the top coat. she then brought me 2 small bowls full,of acetone and told me to stick my fingers in. my response was wheres the aluminum foil and cotton that's what i'm familiar with. her response this is a better way. after soaking my nails in acetone for at least 10 minutes my skins turning dry (white) up to my knuckles. she drysc my hands. she grabs the electric tool and gets ready to file my nail after being in acetione for 10 minutes. i say no more electric tool. her response was what you want me to do! how about filing it's what technicians do. i've broken 3 nails since yesterday, as i stated my natural nails are super strong. i walked out of there totally dissatisfied, uhearded and racially exploited . , , no apologies and continually dismissive if, i had a dog i would'nt send them there for grooming my nails are sick and not in a good way. and i have a rash on both arms from acetone drying me out. they suck. response: say what you want about your shop procedures. the key word is "emory board", "not a filing "electric tool on (my) natural nails, then immerse my nails my hands in two bowls filled with acetone. the skin under my nails, and the top of my nails are still irritated and sensitive. ive been receiving mani petti to acrylic nails since the 1970's i dont need you to explain procedures to me yiu should also "google" immersing your skin in acetone. my suggestion to your shop "cotton balls, acetone, and aluminum foil. better tell the other patrons what you want. your shop sucks and your response is indicative of that. good bye. may we never meet again. Research: hands in pure acetone for 15 minutes is unsafe and unnecessary. Acetone is a harsh solvent that damages skin, nails, and periungual tissues and can cause systemic effects with prolonged exposure. Safer, evidence-based steps and precautions follow.

She then brought steaming hot water, literally steaming, along with acetone to remove the old gel off. I wasn't paying attention and just put my hands in the bowl and nearly jumped out of my seat. I asked her politely if she could make the water less hot and instead of agreeing, she said "since you have a problem, you can tell her.". Before I could respond, she yelled for the manager/receptionist, who came over immediately and inquired on the issue. I was shocked. No, I didn't want to burn my hands, but I wasn't planning to make it a big deal either. The manager was sweet and explained that the technician was attempting to remove the gel. I told her I was aware, but just simply wanted to water to be less hot. The manager explained this to the tech and she added cold water. See how easy that way? My appointment continued to go from bad to worse. Instead of asking me to turn my hand a certain way, or to lean in, for example, she would yank and pull my hands and arms rudely. I even asked her, "are you having a good day?", and of course, she ignored me. She was rough with the drills, and repeatedly kept nicking, cutting my cuticles and the skin around my finger nails. I even yelled out a bit on one occurrence because 1) it shocked the heck out of me, and 2) it freaking hurt. The other nail tech even looked over, as I think it scared her as well. At that point I said to her, "you need to stop being so rough with me. I'm serious". At that point, it stopped. The end result: My nails were okay. As I was paying, the same manager who was at the front desk asked about my experience and I was honest with her. She seemed embarrassed and thanked me for my honesty. At that moment she recognized me. I've been coming to this nail salon for months, with no issues at all. Im not a complainer and I'm never rude to any technician. I think based on our past interactions she knew I wasn't the problem. She apologized on the technicians behalf, even taking $10 off my total, with I thought was nice. Again, this was the last visit. I refused to let one bad experience prevent me from coming to a great salon, with talented nail techs. Thy is amazing, very sweet, and professional. She did my nails beautifully, and I was done within a half hour. She corrected the shoddy work that was done the last time, and they look amazing. This is why I am rating 5 stars again. That and the fact the other technician isn't my usual experience. Im not sure if she's new, or was having a bad day, but again...that was an outlier on my usual experience here. Now, I don't remember the name of the other technician, but I have a photogenic memory and if I see that she's the person being asked to do my nails, I will kindly ask for someone else and wait.

This review is about the recent booking experience which the business needs to work on improvement and for future customers to be aware of ahead of booking. I made a last minute booking yesterday evening and it was confirmed as the normal flow. This morning when I showed up at the studio 10 mins ahead of my appointment, I was asked to wait for 30 mins or reschedule. I don't think a 30mins wait for a pedicure service with a booked appointment is reasonable. This simply is saying that a sitting customer who might have arrived late or requested more complicated design resulting the pushback of subsequent appointment is more important than the customer whose appointment gets pushed back. The lack of booking or appointment time management or proactive communication with proper remediation options is unprofessional and frustrating. A manicure/pedicure appointment should be relaxing not causing friction of schedule of the day. Sharing this feedback for the business owner to improve the booking management and communications. Hope nobody in the future gets the same terrible experience like today.
