"HireAHelper" and "Moving By Professionals llc" provided terrible service. Unprepared - Movers showed up to move all possessions of a 915 sq. foot apartment with 5 small boxes (should have been 5 times as many boxes), they ended up moving all of my kitchen things in plastic shopping bags that I had to supply. Unprofessional - They didn't bring furniture pads, they used my blankets and taped them around my furniture. They kept saying they were done when there was a lot of items remaining to move, I had to keep saying "this room too, we're taking everything". A bottle of $300.00 Creed cologne was stolen. Openly nasty - One of them commented about how nice it would be for me to take a shower at the end of the day - I realized later that my shower head was missing (had been stolen) too. I'm still trying to figure out what else may have been stolen from me. This was a very bad experience to say the least. How are these guys in business? read more

Michael was a savior to my moving disaster. After finding out that the original moving company (coming from out-of-state) can't deliver my items to my apartment because it was loaded on a semi truck, I searched yelp for local movers. Moving by professionals was one of the top ones listed and reviews were great. So I call them while hysterically crying on the phone because I was beyond stressed (due to the facts that my shipment was a week late, I've been sleeping on the floor for 2 weeks, working 12 hour shifts many days straight. I was tired). Michael was very calm and he tried to help me with this mess not knowing if I was going to hire him as the mover. After playing phone tag with dispatch of the moving company, we decided on a place to meet to have my items be transferred from a semi truck to his truck. I told Michael that the truck driver will meet with me between 7-9am for the transfer. The next morning I received a phone call from Michael around 7am to check on me. I felt so appreciative of that call. It reassures me that he was there to help me and not after the money for the job. He lets me know that he will be at the location once I meet up with the driver. So after 30min of waiting, I finally met up the driver at a truck stop. I called Michael. He got there between the time he told me he would. Once he arrived, that's when he started his clock for the job. He was by himself. He helped move my items across 2 the two trucks with the other company's movers. Helped to make sure that all my items was accounted for on the list. Luckily, it was items for a one bedroom apartment. (I hope I didn't have too much stuff.) By himself and a dolly, Michael moved everything by himself up 1.5 flights of stairs. He was gentle with all the items. He worked a steady and efficient pace that didn't tired him out. He was able to move all my items from the time loading off the semi to his truck, his truck to my apartment all within 2 hours. He even let me know that I've reached the 1 hour mark so I would know if I was going to be charged a bit more for that extra time. He was very honest and his price was fair. He was most helpful during this stressful move. I highly recommend. Thank you. read more

Michael and Thomas were awesome! They maneuvered through some pretty tight turns including a 180 degree stair turn and never touched a wall. I think they are our first movers who have used a long flat seriously heavy duty dolly. They got us moved in under 1 1/2 hrs (small office). They even dealt with my, "can you move this over there?... wait, maybe over there" requests. Michael (the owner I think) said they were going to take the weekend off (after they had moved us - not complaining - I asked if they had a busy weekend). We called on Wednesday and they moved us that Saturday. He must have heard in my voice that I desperately wanted out of our old place ASAP. Btw, if you tell them you found them through Yelp they will offer a discount for a review (at least right now). Now, I definitely verified with Michael that the discount is not contingent on a perfect review. He didn't even say anything about giving them a 5 star review when we paid. He wants real reviews I was glad they weren't like the car dealer's service department that hounds you for 100% scores. I am only mentioning this because I first wondered if the discount led to some inflated ratings. But no. They were great! Really nice guys! read more

Absolutely cannot recommend these guys enough. They were amazing. I had a lot of things about my move that were still up in the air and I was not nearly as organized as I would have liked when they arrived. They had enough sense as to know when it was best to make an executive decision and not bother me and when they absolutely should check with me first. They helped make would could have been a disaster as smooth as possible. You always assume a few dents/scratches with any move, but MBP delivered without a single issue. I went with Moving by Professionals because of all the great reviews. I made an initial phone call and spoke to the owner who was very patient with me as we had almost a 15 minute phone call. He was very thorough with the information and professional. On the move in day, I received a call 30 mins before they arrived to let me know they were on the way. They arrived on time and started working immediately. They were fast! And efficient. I moved my stuff into a storage unit that wasn't too far away so I opted for the 2 hours and 2 men. My review is about 2 months late, well overdue needless to say. These guys absolutely rock. We've used plenty of movers before, and Moving by Professionals (MBP) was top notch. For what what we were looking for was mainly help with our heavy furniture from a 3 bedroom home. Most companies we received quotes from were charging twice as much and for 2 people. We considered a couple quotes from companies asking for less than MBP, but also for 2 people and a truck fee. MBP had no truck fee or hidden fees - and even sent 3 people for our move. Michel, Thomas, and Deion showed up on time and absolutely crushed our move. They worked hard, and moved fast but took the time to take care of our stuff and not damage either home. On top of that, they're 3 of the nicest people you'll meet - by far the friendliest and best customer service from any moving company we have ever used. At some point, we will be moving again. Wow!!! Not only do I recommend Moving By Professionals to everyone else, but I will also use them every time we move. Seriously I wish we'd used them sooner, we've moved every year for the past 8 years (God knows why.....? Oh well.) They were professional, fast, on time, and efficient. Nothing was broken. The truck they brought was a just a tad too small but it was my fault, I should've given them a better idea of how much crap we had. Even I didn't realize how much crap we had.... I also didn't consider our little apartment storage unit. So we'll have to make another trip or two with the cars, but that's my own fault and I'm not even mad. Had to go back home to get the cats anyway. They got all the big stuff, the heavy stuff, and The majority of the boxes. Actually they got all the boxes, the only things they didn't get were the randos that I hadn't packed yet. And I didn't expect them to grab that stuff anyway. I expressed to Michael that my husband was on the fence about hiring movers because he didn't know how fast they'd be. He's quite a hustler when we move so he didn't want me to pay for help that might be slow, especially since it's a cost by the hour. They were not at all slow! He quoted me two hours, they started right at 9am and finished at 10:56am LOL! I know this because Michael came and asked if I wanted to settle my bill and I looked at my watch and said "you guys are done!?!" They don't mess around. I like that. Highly recommend them. What do you say when someone is just too expensive? You liked the service but you are shocked by the charges. I've used this moving company before but this time I was shocked by the price. They came to my house and moved 3 items from the upstairs to the downstairs. Literally a half an hour of work, no truck rental involved, I worked around their schedule because they were coming back from a job out of town and were returning on the way back and stopping at my house. So, how much is the right price? I had been told in the past it was $85.00 for the first hour...so what would a half an hour be? I never thought it would be half of that cuz that would be ridiculous but should it be twice that? Or should the price be two and a half times that? Guess?! It was a $180.00 for a half an hour for 3 pieces of furniture. 3 guys showed up and 2 did the majority of the lifting and one guy moved the glass shelves and I paid $180 for a half an hour. I want to make that kind of money! Who doesn't. So I paid them but they are too expensive for my taste. If you need a , very expensive mover, these are the guys to call. $360 an hour for the first a hour and who knows what after that! I would certainly nail down the exact price and understand what they charge by the hour. I had used them enough in the past that I didn't think to do so and I have actually paid $80 for the same job to the same people just a few months ago. So, don't use them more than once and don't get ripped off. Get your price down to the penny if you have no choice in moving companies. read more
