I could not more highly recommend Elliot, his crew and Sterling Interstate. His business model, the care he takes in choosing who works for/with him results in an experience that belies most preconceptions of the moving industry. They were awesome! After what packing I'd done myself inside the house, and with the prospect of "the garage", I was pretty stressed and overwhelmed when Elliot and his crew arrived. From the very beginning they put me at ease and assured me the work ahead would be easily do-able. They showed me moving was a combination of labor but more importantly a matter of teamwork and art. They packed "everything", right down to scrap shop wood and a collection of bricks. And it was done with a smile and an assurance that their job WAS to make this stressful event as easy as possible for me. That was repeated with every heart felt thank you I directed their way. They asked me about packing stuff that had simply become invisible to me over the years. They pointed out numerous fake plants on the pot shelves and asked if they were to be loaded. I told them I wasn't taking them and I couldn't find anyone who wanted them. I said they were going, like so much other stuff had, to Goodwill. They offered to drop them off at Goodwill themselves and loaded them into one of their personal vehicles. They offered to take my suitcase to my truck. They helped me load my second vehicle onto the trailer behind my truck. When all was loaded up and ready to go two of the crew, Dave and "the Hulk" immediately left in the huge truck and set out at once for New Mexico. They drove all the way to Las Cruses that night. The next morning I caught up with them in Las Cruses and we were only about 20 minutes apart arriving at my new home. They negotiated the truck up the significantly steep dirt road to my house and maneuvered the truck expertly in the driveway/parking area of the house. I had serious reservations of whether or not it could be done and they did it with an expertise that I hadn't believed possible. Within a few hours they had everything unloaded and placed within the house. None of my possessions were damaged. Neither house was even scratched throughout the process at either end. They even helped shuffle things in the garage so I could put the car in the garage. The entire process was extraordinary and I can't describe adequately how much at ease they made me feel. If anyone was "on the fence" when considering using Sterling Interstate to safely and professionally move their possessions, I would wholeheartedly encourage them to trust Sterling Interstate. I couldn't be happier with my experience with this moving company! Moving from Phoenix to Boise was a huge step, and I was nervous about finding a company I could really trust. Do you want good customer service? choose Sterling. I inquired on their site about a small move - 5 large pieces of furniture and some boxes. Nanci answered my query promptly and advised me since they have dedicated (only 1 customers items) per truck, they might not be the best choice for me cost wise. the items were traveling from Phoenix AZ to San Antonio Texas. Nanci added that they would be happy to discuss my specific needs and give me a price so I called the next day and she was right, the price was a bit out of my range given the small amount I needed moved. she then went on to tell me if I was considering moving the items myself, that U-Haul provided movers. didn't know that! Bad knees and lower back problems, not sure if friends could help ....etc. Went to U-Hauls site and indeed they do provide this service. so although Sterling was not a good fit for my small move I would highly recommend them for anyone needing to move a house or apartment. their reviews on Yelp are what led me to them and without Nanci's suggestions, I would never have found a solution. She did not need to go this extra mile, she could have simply apologized that they could not help me and signed off with a "Have a good day". Thanks Nanci for your all your help. read more

We recently had Sterling Interstate movers help us with loading our Uhaul moving truck for a move cross country and I must say that they were probably some of the best movers we have ever used. They worked supremely efficient, careful and took the most concern for our items and made sure they were properly loaded for our long distant move. First off, we reached out to Nanci to receive a quote, and she was very accommodating, honest, forthcoming and extremely professional when giving us prices and what to expect from our contract. Everything she mentioned is what happened and there were no hidden surprises or unexpected charges. The movers showed up ready to dedicate their time to us and while 2 of the movers were moving everything and taking care to wrap everything nicely (Mark and Dante), another mover (J.B.) was using extreme skill in loading the truck to its max capacity (was like watching a master at Tetris). All of our items arrived to our new location without ANY shifting or damage thanks to the care they took in loading our items. Will highly recommend them to ANYONE moving in Arizona. If I could give more than 5 stars I would. Nanci, Elliott and Ron were absolutely the best for my move from AZ to NC. Moving cross country is always stressful, but the team at Sterling Interstate made it super easy, all the way from the initial estimate to the arrival of my items at my new house. It was like I had a friend driving my moving truck cross country and Ron made sure I always knew where he was and when he was stopping/starting for the day. Elliot (owner) gave us a good quote - it was similar to a large national company, but with Sterling we got our own dedicated truck and dedicated movers from beginning to end (cross-country move). The moving team was friendly and incredibly thorough and careful from packing to loading to unloading. We had several challenges moving in (pouring rain, elevator out of service in condo building) but Ron (the moving team lead) took everything in stride, always with a smile. This is what you've imagined movers should be. We've had several movers in the last several years. Sterling Interstate is leagues above them all. The company and movers are simply exceptional, kind, courteous, and considerate. The mover dudes arrived on time and were quick and efficient at getting us loaded and moved. Honestly I wish I could leave Elliot and his team a 10 star!! They were all AMAZING!!! He agreed to come load up the truck a day in advance so that we could hit the road first thing in the morning from Phoenix to Los Angeles. Let's be honest, moving sucks. SUCKS. Especially during the summer in Phoenix where it's frequently over 100F.
