I was pressured to put a review while closing out. I didn't want to say anything at the time, because I didn't want the head mover to potentially lose their job. Here's what I really think: I had the rare privilege of being able to compare with a nearly identical move that happened two years after the one I had with OnTrack on 1/24/2023. The OnTrack guys packed, moved, and reassembled in 4h 45m, and the other guys did it in 7h 15m. So OnTrack gets five stars for efficiency! Plus the new guys knocked all sorts of stuff around, whereas I think OnTrack only had like one time they bumped something, but it didn't even leave a permanent mark or anything. I am deducting one star though because the head mover pumped me for a review on the spot while we were closing out. I think that's a shady practice and ruined an otherwise almost flawless move. read more

Pros: movers were on time and did a good job moving and packing items quickly. Customer service was very helpful and easy to reach. Cons: My promo wasn't automatically applied (I had to call the billing department to correct this). Not cheap (especially since I had to pay for the parking citation that the movers received and that was only communicated to me days later). read more

Just used Ontrack for my moving needs yesterday and it was such a great experience from beginning to end. Had a last minute reschedule due to an issue with my new place and they were amazing with that request and totally understanding. This is my second time using Ontrack Moving in San Francisco and both times they've been excellent. I can't recommend them higher. Great communication throughout from scheduling until the day of moving. Ontrack arrived exactly on time and the crew of Leonel, Carlos, and Luis were incredible. Extremely professional and friendly guys who worked fast and smart to get everything packed safely and carefully. They even custom wrapped some items they felt needed extra protection, put down protection on the stairs, and disassembled our bed frame. Incredibly, they even took a photo of a scratch on a piece of furniture and let us know about it -- they didn't think they had made it but wanted to be honest that they were unsure -- and we confirmed we had made that scratch ourselves, not them. These are extremely careful, honest, and upfront guys. On delivery, they made very fast travel time despite the narrow streets and even moved the truck halfway through when a neighbor complained. Unloading was a dream, they delivered boxes to the appropriate rooms and reassembled the bed frame too. Finally, the price was extremely reasonable (cheap I would say given the speed and quality). I would give them 10 stars if I could. Leonel, Carlos, and Luis are the dream team. I hope I won't have to move again any time soon but if I do, it'll be with Ontrack for sure. I used Ontrack for my move from the east bay to SF. I moved a one bedroom apartments worth or furniture and all of my personal belongings. I was given a window of 8-10am for arrival and the movers were right on time at 8am. They were super efficient and helpful with all of my moving questions (this was my first big move). The were very respectful of my furniture and personal belongings. (I did take my personal/work laptops and other high value belongings in my own personal vehicle). I was super shocked that they were able to wrap all of my furniture in blankets or plastic wrap to keep it all together and safe during the move at no extra charge! They also disassembled and reassembled my queen size bed frame. The entire move took about 4 hours. I was hesistant about getting movers, but having reliable people who know the most efficient way to move made the whole process a breeze! The only issues I had with the process is a small metal piece on the bottom of my bed frame broke. I'm not sure at what point during the move this happened but it wasn't broken prior to the move. Like all other movers, it was a hefty cost for the job. Many companies have the policy that the drive time to the location is counted as double time. The drive for my move was about 35 min so it was counted as over an hour. Minimum time for a move is 4 hours and after 4 hours, you're charged by every 15min I believe. If you don't use the 4 hours, you still get charged for it. Overall very standard policies for moving companies, but I somewhat felt them to be unclear. Overall, very satisfied w the service and move. And I do recommend using a mover if it is in your moving budget! read more

Totally dissatisfied and disappointed. I sent a request for 1-BR apartment moving which had an exact moving date, floor info, and zip codes. I got a response "price starts at $119". Of course, when I called them, they gave me $145 price. I have booked my moving with their more honest competitors who do not use the cheap marketing tricks which take my time. read more

My partner and I have hired Ontrack to help us with three moves. First from one apartment to another, then to a rental house, and then to a house of our own. Each time they have been stellar, which is why we've continued to use them. Although moving isn't much fun and we're glad we won't have to do it again, it's bittersweet that we won't be able to support Ontrack directly anymore. Hopefully this review helps get them some more business. On this last move, our crew consisted of Cristian, Jose, Miguel, and Victor. They were prompt, arriving slightly before the scheduled time. They were polite and understood everything we asked of them. They were amazingly efficient. It took us weeks to pack our three bedroom rental house, but these four men finished loading it into their truck in about 2 hours. At the new house, it took about the same amount of time to unload everything. They were careful to protect all the large objects that we couldn't pack into boxes beforehand. Nothing was damaged or lost in transit. At each move we've been amazed at the physical strength of Ontrack's movers. On the previous move, we had a large, cumbersome box that we'd been putting miscellaneous oddly-shaped objects into like brooms, mops, and a step stool. Because of the tall objects inside, the box wouldn't even close. We weren't sure it was going to be any use to them to group things together that way. But when the movers came, one of them picked it up and carried it on his shoulder like it was nothing. On this last move they did something even more unbelievable. We have a heavy old wooden desk that's hard to move even with both of us. One of Ontrack's movers picked it up, flipped it upside down, and carried it up a flight of stairs balancing it on his head, all by himself. I should've taken a picture of this ridiculous feat, but I was too surprised to react fast enough. Thank you Ontrack for the three moves you helped us through. They make setting up a move date and getting a quote very easy and streamlined. I also felt like cost-wise they were more reasonable than several of the other options I explored. Hugo and his team did a fantastic job moving us in yesterday. I thought they were very thoughtful in how they wrapped and packed all of our big pieces of furniture, and how they took apart AND put together our bed frame after the transport. Was looking for a quality mover to move some antiques. Had a 6' glass cabinet, 3 antique dolls in glass display cases, some super heavy plants and a few other things. I used Yelp's "Get a Quote" service to contact 5 movers and heard back from all within a couple of hours. I liked Ontrack's reviews and response so I called them to schedule. Not the cheapest, but liked the customer service over the phone. But the proof is in the movers, right? Movers showed up in the appointment window and got to work. I always expect a couple of weightlifters but the movers were a couple of normal sized, if not small, guys. The got to work wrapping the items and moving them to the truck. We also wanted to move some large furniture from the second floor to the first which they happily obliged. Well, the important thing is how did the items transport? Happy to say all items made it safe and sound and were placed exactly where we wanted them. Had a little problem processing my payment on their app but they called it in and everything was fine. The main thing is that the antiques be moved with no damage and Ontrack delivered in spades. Friendly customer service and the movers were fantastic. Would definitely use them again. read more

Long overdue review. We used Ontrack movers for our local San Francisco move. Very responsive from the moment I called to get a quote as well as good communication day of. We opted for the two day package, pack up our belongings on one day, move us the following day. The price was comparable to other moving companies. You do pay for the packing materials. Jorge Gonzalez and his crew were great! They were very thorough in packing and unloading our belongings. Overall they did a very good job with our move! We were in good hands with Jorge and crew. They were able to soothe some of my concerns listed below. I feel that this follow through is deserving of redeeming my experience with the service itself, hence the updated review. ----------------------------------------- ORIGINAL REVIEW 9/1/2022 3 STARS: First off, everything got done, and nothing broke. Just from the perspective of their services offered, it completed the task. Now a few things that happened that lowered the rating: - we moved from a 1 bedroom loft. We had a bed, sofa, table, desk, and dresser. This took over 4 hours to move. Originally, I was going to ask to cover much more (side tables, paintings, kitchen stuff, garage), but they took so long and each hour is $$, we ended up prioritizing our large items and moving the rest ourselves. I couldn't help but think they were milking us for more time. - they really spent a long time wrapping each item (which is good if you have expensive things, but not if you have cheap items) and they will charge you for all materials. Again, just for the items listed above (and 2 additional boxes), we paid over $200 for just materials. - were 1 hour late to meet us (communicated to us they were running behind the morning of, so there really isn't anything you can do at that point) -total came out to $1900 (with tip) to move basic furniture from a 1bd apt. Did not move any bathroom or kitchen things. Two people showed up but really only one person was packing. The efficiency we expected might have been too high, as we anticipated everything to take 3 hours. In the end, we were charged for almost 8 hours of work. Nothing against the guys that were working. It's not easy carrying heavy things, and we even went out to buy cold water and soda for them during the move. We just weren't impressed with the overall service and wouldn't have gone with them had we known moving a few of our items would cost us almost 2 grand. read more

Great experience from start to finish. I worked with Dylan to get our quote -- it was fast and easy and he was a good communicator with reliable follow-up. A team of 4 (Leo, Carlos X, Celso and Victor) arrived the day of -- they called to let me know they were on there way and even came a few minutes early. Disappointing experience overall. Of course sales staff on the phone prior to the move were lovely and reassuring when I specifically and repeatedly asked for an experienced crew. Then on the day, I witnessed a team members heavy handedness break my couch such that it must be replaced and also chip my lounge chair and dining table. Post-move customer service demonstrated deceptive practices to avoid my insurance claim by doctoring the prior invoice - shocking and likely illegal. Both the house we moved out of and the house we moved into suffered a few corner casualties. Rather than letting us know it happened, they simple covered them with packing tape and didn't say a word. It was only after the dust settled that we found the damages. Thinking back and watching them move stuff, they could have spent more time disassembling large items and taking the time to do it right rather than trying to rush. Multiple times I had to let them know that the object wasn't going to fit through the doorways. I also would have been a lot more understanding if they would have come clean to me about the damages up front. read more

It's hard to imagine any moving company living up to a 5-star review after moves I've experienced in the past, but I don't have a single complaint about this move. Sam worked with us, was easy to get in touch with, answered all questions promptly and was just so reassuring and helpful throughout the whole process! Some of our special requests included: requiring proof of vaccination of the movers, which we received in advance; last minute destination changes, which were happily accommodated; and more packing than we originally anticipated, which, again was met with "no problem!" I had an awesome experience with Ontrack. Edgar and Jonathan were my movers and they did a fantastic job making my move super stressless. It made me wonder why I had never hired movers before! Booking process: I asked for quotes across a number of businesses and chose Ontrack because this was the only mover I found in the SF area that literally had no negative reviews. Even other 4, 4.5 star places had a few negative reviews but I was shocked at how good Ontrack's reviews were. Overall, booking was pretty easy and I corresponded with Luke to get my reservation nailed. I was also moving into a building with picky certificate of liability requirements, and Luke was able to get all these things resolved. Move day: Edgar and Jonathan showed up even earlier than expected, and despite me moving out and into two difficult buildings, they professionally handled everything. I literally just sat around and didn't have to worry about everything. Edgar and Jonathan successfully helped us move about 1 BD/1BA worth of stuff in about five hours. They were super speedy in getting everything packaged and wrapped, and extremely methodical in efficiently moving things up and down. I had a great experience moving with Ontrack Moving - which is saying a lot for something that is inherently stressful. They were really responsive in providing initial quotes, and helping me to get everything scheduled. They were also responsive for all additional follow up questions I had. The move day itself was also really smooth. We had a team of 2 come (I can't remember their names, but they were wonderful) - they were super fast, polite, easy to work with, and took really great care of all of our stuff. We had such excellent movers from our last move within SF! Edgar, Carlos G. and Miguel moved us (and packed whatever was not yet packed) within a reasonable time. They were so mindful with handling fragile packages, protected all our furniture and our home, and took great care making sure nothing is damaged during the move. They even helped us move some furniture pieces to the curb for Recology pickup. They had to disassemble some furniture and they re-assembled everything correctly (this was important to us because our previous movers botched the re-assembly).
