We knew we were going to need help moving our bulky furniture from our fifth floor apartment. Booking Ontrack Moving Company was easy and their pricing model was straightforward. They even offered a discount for taking an afternoon appointment. Our movers Edgar and Jonathan were real troopers. Not only did they have to deal with a busted elevator, causing them to have to use an elevator farther away, they powered through to carry our super heavy sleeper sofa and two standing desks up two flights of narrow stairs at our new place. This was done without damaging any of our belongings or our new home. Despite wrapping and packing up everything faster than I've seen anyone do before, these guys stayed until almost 8PM moving us into our new place. They impressed me from the reservation all the way to the end of the job. Miguel Prerechu and Karin Pereyra are the movers helped us move. They arrived on time and examined the room first to understand what are the moving stuff then prepare the all the moving materials. During the process, they are very careful, professional, nice and friendly. Most importantly they are so efficient! We bought them pizza and drinks beside tip because of the excellent service both provided. I think every family when they move should provide some kind of food because moving is not an easy job. The whole company gave us a peace of mind when we do this moving and we get it done less than 5 hours whereas could be 2 days if we do it ourself. A friend recommended Ontrack to my partner and me for our move across the Bay last month. When I called for a quote, Dylan candidly walked me through their process and pricing, and was patient and kind in answering my questions. There were other moving companies we were considering, but this interaction made me feel secure and confident with Ontrack. Our movers Luis, Mateo and Antonio were amazing! They wore masks and gloves throughout the whole move. We had 30-40 boxes all packed and ready by the time they came, and some large furniture, which they wrapped attentively with blankets or plastic wrap. They moved everything out of the first location in an hour, working quickly, carefully and safely. The destination had three small flights of stairs, and they carried heavy items up using either a dolly or raw superhuman strength! We saw how hard they labored, so we bought them donuts and tipped them each 25% of the total cost of the move, and we hope that you'll do the same. Last year Hugo moved us and was such a delight to work with. I requested him again this year, but David and Jesus were sent and they were wonderful too! Ontrack Moving is great. We approached our move from the San Francisco Bay Area to Portland, OR with a lot of trepidation, having read many horror stories. However our move with Ontrack went extremely smoothly and nothing was broken or damaged. We did a 3 phase move of our 3 bedroom house: Move out, Ontrack storage for 2 months, Move up to Portland. All three phases went smoothly and nothing was lost despite going on and off the truck twice. Leo managed the move out crew and efficiently emptied our entire house in just 3 hours. The move into our Portland house was very challenging with a long steep driveway and then a full flight of stairs. Their crew of 2: Ivan (who also helped with the move out) and Javier did a fantastic job of coping with the driveway and stairs and got all our possessions into the new house safely and without any damage at all. The move out was local so T&M, which sounded risky, but the final price came in approximately the same as the original estimate, with no attempt to add in extra time or charges. The interstate move was a fixed price quote (it ended up being two vehicles because our stuff was over the single vehicle weight limit), and the final charge was exactly as quoted, despite the driveway and stairs. They took every precaution and on top of that they were the most skilled, hardworking, and efficient movers I have ever used. My family used Ontrack to move from CA to Oregon. After hearing horror stories from friends about their intrastate moving experiences, I was determined to find an honest company that would treat our items with respect. These are the reasons I went with Ontrack: No truck sharing = no multiple addresses to coordinate delivery. Clear pricing that was set (two trucks at up to a max weight was the price, all transport fees and moving services [like taking apart furniture, wrapping it, putting it back together] were included). There were no hidden costs like transportation or use of materials fees. They were clear on the dates, and the $$ due for deposit, and what would be due at pickup and drop-off. Ontrack will even lend wardrobe boxes, so you can put your hung clothes in them when they arrive, which makes unpacking much easier. I have two BIG compliments to give. The first goes to Alex for giving us an accurate estimate. I had SEVERAL companies come to do estimates. The trucks have regulatory weight limits for long distance, so weight estimates matter because they determine how many trucks you need. I got weight estimates from 16,000 to 32,000 pounds, all from companies with good reviews and BB ratings. (Seriously.) This is the difference between 2 and 3 trucks, which amounts to a huge price difference. Alex estimated we were around their two truck limit (26K). He let us know we close, and they'd have to weigh as they loaded to make sure we didn't go over. He stated he could not guarantee it would all fit in 2 trucks, and offered 3rd truck prices, but didn't push or try to upsell. Unlike other companies I spoke to, Ontrack had scales to bring to our home so they could weigh on the spot. Because Alex seemed more knowledgeable, (and my gut told me he was right), I went with Ontrack. More great customer service = After I let them know I was only able to pay for 2 trucks and may need to leave some items behind, they helped me by telling me which items would be the heaviest and agreed to hold on loading items I tagged as "less important" until we were sure they go could. They did not make me feel bad for this; in fact, I felt like they were on my side and doing what they could to make it work for us. Based on Alex's estimate we gave away/sold a few heavy furniture items before the move... and, good news! we were just able to fit in everything we had left. So, Alex was right on - we would have been slightly overweight, and after getting rid of a few pieces were just under. My second big compliment is to an Ontrack Manager, Paul. There was a scale malfunction while they were loading. They called Paul and he responded right away; driving out to our distant location to fix it. During the loading, the movers were respectful of our home and property. They worked hard and efficient, but without being reckless. The trucks were packed neatly and tight. The drop off occurred on time. I could not be there until later in the day and Ontrack worked with us by agreeing to start unloading before we arrived (my Real Estate agent came to let them in). Unfortunately, there were a couple of issues during unloading. The crew seemed rushed, as a result some boxes were left in the wrong rooms, a few were upside down, some furniture was not unwrapped/reassembled, and there were a few other mishaps. I'd still recommend Ontrack and use them again. Why? Because the majority of the move went well, their rate was competitive, and I believe the problems at the drop-off were limited to one or two guys in a rush. When I contacted Ontrack to share my frustrations, Manger Paul jumped in again. He called me personally to discuss my concerns and offered several options to ensure all was remedied. He even offered to send someone (6.5 hours away by drive) to move the boxes back to the right rooms and a do a few other fixes... which was over and beyond what was necessary. This company was super fast to respond, really friendly and quick with their quotes, and their price met or beat most of their competitors. On moving day, Ika and Martinez showed up exactly on time at the beginning of the move window and even called ahead to let us know they were coming (They drove from Hayward to Oakland and made it at 8am sharp!). The guys were super friendly, professional, and --- FAST. These guys came in and they got.to.work. We were looking to have all our big furniture moved for us (Couch, beds, tables, etc.) and they immediately started at it, at a super quick pace (if I had done this myself with 3 friends there is no way we would have moved so quickly). I researched several companies and I choose Ontrack Moving due to good prices and rating. I set up the moving date with Sam and he was very good at explaining things and replying to my emails. I also needed a certificate of insurance from the movers to provide my building management and Sam did all of it in time. On moving day I received a call from Matt 40 minutes in advance as promised. He arrived with Sammy and together they proceeded to wrap my furniture and load it in the truck. Once we got to my new place in San Francisco they proceeded with the unloading. Going up the stairs did not seem to be a problem at all! They maintain an upbeat attitude at all times making sure every was where I wanted to be. Awesome communication an excellent experience!! Update: I had a really lovely conversation with someone from OnTrack who worked hard to make sure that I understood that this is really not representative of their work- which I really believe. I think this was an off day for an off team. They are sending someone to make sure our kids bunk bed is put together correctly- and I really appreciate their customer service. The day didn't go how I planned, but at least I won't look back on it and get upset. I did a lot of research in hopes of having a really smooth moving day- needless to say- that is not what we got. It started great- Juan was in charge of our team of three, they came bright an early and did great with all the boxes- I thought we were totally on track- then everything fell apart. Moving each piece of furniture took forever, we asked them to take apart the bed and bunk bed, and pieces were all over the place (this one will come back to haunt us)- then there was a couch debacle that I won't put on the movers (we realized later that our doorframe changed a little so- that's on us) but between that and all their inefficacies we were like four hours in on what was supposed to be a four hour move (and then it pushed into holiday traffic and made our drive time more than twice normal). When we got to our new house- they dinged our furniture, they dinged our walls, they spent like 40 minutes trying to remember how to put the bunkbed back together (the ladder is still not on right and two pieces are backwards....), they put our bed together going the wrong direction and then we had to ask them to move it again. By the time we hit HOUR 7 I started moving wardrobe boxes back into their truck, and taking small furniture out. Eventually when I noticed them putting our shelves back together wrong side out and putting our couch cushions on backwards I asked them to wrap up and leave. We paid 2.5 times the estimate and I spent a solid part of the day crying. So not what I was hoping for. Oh I almost forgot - even though I asked about furniture assembly/disassembly they failed to bring any tools, not a screw driver, not a hex wrench, nothing. read more

It's been about 4 months now since we used their service. We wanted to tried a new mover, and our roommate told us that she got recommendation from a friend. Ontrack has a lot of good reviews on Yelp so we decided to use them, so as our roommate. They came promptly within time frame. 2 people came and started moving our stuff. They worked relatively fast, but too bad, they were not very careful with things. One of my shelves' parts fell apart(not broken), but the crew didn't assemble it back. He just put the parts on the table. I didn't tell him to put them together, but also he didn't care to ask me if I want to. When they were done with the moving, I assembled the shelves and found out that there were parts missing. Those parts were crucial to the shelves. I texted them to see if they were with the person that carried it. They were in his pocket, so he drove back after work to return them. Later on I also found that the part that held the TV stand shelf in place was also missing. I just feel like they could have done better. Take more cautious to everything they move especially little parts that come with the furniture. With my experience with them compare to other movers I've used, I wouldn't recommend this company unless you are willing to micro manage the move. read more

These folks are professional. I'm super happy with the service. And the final cost was aligned with the service. Everything went well; they were on time; they described the final plan, cost estimate, timeframe, and overall plan. They took our 30+ boxes like nothing, they took care of our furniture with care, and they even suggested using our remaining bubble wrap so they won't need to charge a couple of dollars more. Bonus note: They were the only providers that called me 5 minutes after sending the request for information form. They were quick to tell me if my dates were available or not, while other providers took 24h days to respond only to tell me that they were booked.
