Absolutely regret not reading reviews before hiring this company. Created a Yelp account just to lay into this company. Take your quote, multiply it by 5, and there's your final price! Showed up 2 and a half hours late to my appointment, and then proceeded to charge me $75 for there travelling fee. I heard the owner tell his employee to start the clock 10 minutes before they began moving - told him I was looking at the clock and had it corrected. They told me it'd be $75 per hour - but never told me it'd be a minimum 2 hours payment - regardless it still took 4.5 hours. I have 1 bedroom. All they had to do was move my belongings downstairs into a moving pod. Was planning on paying with a check, the owner said that wouldn't be possible because the banks were closed - maybe it would have if they'd showed up on time! Got the 3% credit card fee waived. As they were wrapping up, the owner then again tried to add on an extra 30 minutes to my moving fee thinking I was too dumb to tell time. Had to argue with the owner once again to get it corrected. $40 for shrink wrap, $3.50 per "moving cover" (literally just a sheet of paper) - and had to argue to not pay for any covers. Also the guys got locked out of my apartment - didn't let me know until about 20 minutes later - and guess what? Still got charged for that. Maybe one of the most dishonest and pathetically run businesses I have ever had the unfortunate experience in dealing with. The owner even complained to me as I was being quoted out that the Yelp reviews didn't do him justice, and sent me over a selection of good reviews to change my mind. I've never felt like more of an idiot or a chump trusting someone. The actual movers were nice though, and I felt bad that they were employed by such a loser, so I tipped them appropriately. Not only did they break the lamp shades for both of our matching lamps, they didn't bother telling us. To make matters worse, they broke a chair which was part of a $7000 dining room set, dodged up for a month with a classic line, "it will be ready in a week," turns out they brought the chair in to repair and then left it there and refused to pay for it. Finally got the name of the repair place. We called to pay to get our chair back, $200 and apparently they've done this to many other people. We didn't bother with the lamp shades but over my dead body they are not paying the $200. Small claims court will be next if they don't pony up the money and they'll be liable for a hell of a lot more than $200. read more

The worst company I have ever tried to work with! I set them up to move my elderly client from a 2 bedroom condo to a two bedroom small house 2 miles away and they showed up late with four kids and it took 10hrs at $155 an hour. I believe he gave me a fake name "Joe Black" because when I called to chat with him about it no one knew who I was talking about. My client and I specifically told him to just move the large furniture and leave the small stuff. They went ahead and not only packed the small stuff, but took every piece of furniture apart and shrink wrapped it. Needless to say $1,700 dollars later my clients bed and kitchen table are broken. He, "Joe", was completely unwilling to work with me and told his boys to not unload the truck and stand outside my clients door until she paid them, holding her stuff hostage. This is the worst experience I have ever had with a moving company and am writing this review in hopes they will not have the chance to screw somebody else the way they did my 71 year old client!!! How can I start this off! I should have done my research on this company before I said yes! John Negrete or John Martin who knows if his real name is John at all?! I am happy to say I didn't get con'd into more money like I have seen in these reviews and it might have been thanks to my boyfriend who btw helped them load, stack and unload the truck! I was quotes to have 3 movers what I got was one very old man, and two people off the street as they couldn't help but talk about how John came up to them day of move and offered them 50 bucks to move a spa then offered them some more money to continue and do our move! My scheduled time was to be from 8am-10am only to have the movers show up at 1:15pm, how do you give people off the street jobs like this? You are allowing people to move others personal belongings into their homes with out any background check or any paper trail! You don't know their backgrounds or what they are capable of? He also had the nerve to get a serious attitude with my boyfriend over the phone because he asked what time they were going to show up?!? Mind you I would have never known about a time change in the first place if I had not called the day before to confirm everything! He didn't call me I called John only for him to say ohhh btw it's gonna be a 10-11 move time instead which day off turned to 12 then to 1! Please reconsider another company. I was quoted $300 to pick up at Point #1, pick up at Point#2, and drop off at Point #3 (a 4 mile distance from the two furthest points). The moving day came and I had to call them. No communication. They were late AND started at Point #2. No communication. The movers themselves did a fine job, but the office help (if there was any) seemed very unsure of anything, young, and very unprofessional. Called to schedule a local move, placed deposit on credit card for agreed hourly charge for 2 men and a truck. Day of move, truck does not show at 8 am scheduled time. Call at 9 am to be advised their records had 12 noon. (Later to find out by disgruntled employee who came in at 7 am for the 8 am move they were just short staffed). At noon, receive a call the truck will be late as it is having a tail light repaired and would I mind 3 men instead of 2 as that was what was sent out with that truck already in the field. Agreed just to get it done. Truck arrives at 2pm (6 hours LATE), advised I now had to pay by cash although original agreement was credit card. I declined and adjustment was me on the contract to reflect form of payment to be credit card. I was given a phone to speak with a supervisor, he advised their credit card machine was down and there were no guarantees. Currently as a credit card company employee, I advised they could call it in and that I was VERY familiar with credit card protocol as I do it for a living. Truck gets loaded, arrive at my storage unit only to be advised the main office called and unless I pay in cash in full right then they were going to take my items to they were going to take my items to their warehouse and hold them ransom. I asked to speak with a supervisor, and asked if he called the card in. He said: "This is America and we accept Legal Tender" He advised pay in Cash or I was not going to receive my items. He was very rude, condescending and it was a total bait and switch from the original phone agreement as well as in breach of the terms of the signed contract. It seems to me, this company is the same as Discount Movers, which also has a poor rating. I say this bc the address bar of their website and their truck says Discount Movers. Do not use this company. I paid over twice what i was quoted and i did most of the work myself. The guys didn't even pretend to like their jobs. I too was asked to use 3 men instead of 2. They arrived earlier than scheduled. They keep your furniture in the truck at its destination until you pay the exaggerated rate. Who knows what happens if you don't have the money. Fortunately I did, but i was livid!!! I was scheduled between 8am to 10am. They showed up an hour late. I was quoted a job for 2 1/2 hours. They had 1 bedroom and livingroom and kitchen to move. It ended up taking 5 hours. They took their time on the move even standing around. One guy went into my bathroom for 30 min. Finding a bloody q-tip in my toilet was the final straw..i thought. My husband set up the reservation for this company. They were supposed to show up between 8-10 am. They called and said it would be 11 which was okay. At noon I called and was told they would be at the location in 20 minutes. They did not arrive until 1:20. It then took them four hours to load the truck and placed them in the middle of rush hour. They did not change Miley's the project until 10 pm, I was told this would be a 2-3 hour job. They also damaged my house. Do not use this company. These are the worst people you could deal with. I used Marty's company in May of 2013. I gave him an entire truck of furniture, and accessories for charity to donate which I was told I would receive a tax receipt with in a week. He is a thief. I have called, I have written, I have emailed and never received a return call. I gave him master bedroom furniture, living room couches, chairs, tables, outdoor furniture, a breakfront, etc. I could have donated to veterans who needed it. I should have trusted the bad reviews I saw when I hired this company. They are also operating under "Arizona Discount Moving & Storage" Do not hire this company! This has been the worst experience I ever had. I scheduled this company for 5/31/13 at 3pm and they showed up at 7:30 - 4.5 hours late! Not only that, the four men that came were noticeably not interested in their "4th job of the day" including cussing and complaining the entire time. I was quoted at a flat rate with absolutely no hidden fees (explicitly discussed on the phone with what seemed like the manager) but just as soon as the movers pulled out the contract, they started trying to charge trip fees, google fees, etc. I had to argue with the person on the phone and the movers for half an hour, finally agreeing to pay $100 more than what I agreed to on the phone when I booked. The mover lead promised that they wouldn't get the work done in only 2 hours and that at the end, they would have to charge me for more hours. Not only was I forced to help them move even though I was paying $360, but I had to continually tell them to keep working as they stood around lingering. When we got to the drop-off location, I talked on the phone to someone who basically threatened to hold my stuff in storage unless I paid the trip charge that they originally cut in half. MARTY is full of it!! I was quoted without running all the legal mumbo jumbo by me but was assured it would cost $300 from my apartment to our new home. Once they were in front of our new place they demanded $600 or they would not unload our things. When I called MARTY, the manager, I did my best to remind him of our conversation the week before and all he wanted to do is read the contract to me that he DID NOT read to me the week before which gave him all the loopholes he needed to bind me. Also, I called to rescedule 3 days beforehand because I was going to have to work which would leave my wife and 8 month old to watch over it and was assured that this is why I hired movers..he said they will take care of it all and all his movers are very professional, fast, and certified. I agree that I should have read all Yelp reviews first! This move was an absolute disaster from beginning to end! They were 5 hours late, I had to babysit them the entire 5 hours they were there. I have a 2 bedroom, it should have took 3 hours tops! These 3 came with no water, we went 2x to QT to get them drinks. One of the movers got so dehydrated, he threw up in my front yard. I'm sure it had to do with (recreational substances that were quite apparent) They had sores and scabs all over their arms, dirty clothes, i could go on forever! They were sitting down on my furniture, sweaty and all. There was 3 guys but at most 2 working, 1 was always sitting in the truck at most times. They broke glasses, damaged beds, furniture and didn't care 1 bit. They took smoke breaks and stood around unless one of us was asking them to get to work. 20 minutes to get a washer down stairs and put in the truck. Was the most ridiculous sight I've ever seen. We had to use our own vehicles to get all of our stuff but in a storage unit. The day after the 5 hour nightmare trying to talk to the dispatcher Carl Harris was a joke. Apparently every time a smoke break, a broken item occurred it was MY responsibility to call the dispatcher. I was to babysit these 3 stooges as if they were children. My cost was 3x was i was quoted, the mover posted on the final bill $100 less than what I had given him. So they stole $100 from their own company. He told me I paid $100 less than I had paid due to the movers forging the amount, my fault I didn't catch that but after that long nightmare I just wanted them gone. I sent an email inquiry on Friday, April 12th to book a move for either Sunday, April 14th or Monday, April 15th. I received a call back almost immediately. Secured 2 men and a truck for $75/hr. for Sunday, April 14th between 8am-10am. I was assured that this would be the most hassle free move that I have ever had. I received a call at 6:13am (WHO in the world makes sale calls at 6:13 am?!?- TOTALLY unprofessional in my opinion. Trying to up sale me on 4 men and a truck at $150/hr. I explained to "Marty" or "Martin" on Friday that I have 10x10 storage unit packed and ready to go there is NO prep work needed should be a simple load and unload, he kept pushing the issue and then proceeded to try and sale me on 3 men and a truck for $99/hr. I firmly declined once again. I received a call from the same person at 8:09 am saying our movers were in route to our storage facility- we drove over and waited, waited and waited only to see them go flying by not paying any attention to the street address to finally show up more than 1 hour later. I was greeted by 2 men, 1 of them completely filled with tattoos dressed in church clothes. Who comes to work dressed in their church clothes? He advised me that him and his partner were on their way to church when being asked to come into work- that the "boss man" didn't have anyone scheduled and he needed to pull someone last minute to work our move. What a fantastic way to make your customer feel like their move was of any importance to you. He was unprepared no pen, he didn't even have a belt on! He used shrink wrap off the truck to keep his pants from falling off him. Him and his partner began to load the truck, which was completed with our help within 45 minutes. Isn't it the point of movers so that you don't have to do the heavy lifting? I worked faster and harder than the 2 adult men you sent me to work my move. So you'd think it would be time to drive to our drop location- nope the guys decided it was time to work on the truck- ON MY DIME! Not acceptable- you should have never given an employee a truck to drive if it wasn't ready to be used. After 15 minutes of them milking the clock on my dime we finally head to our drop location. We get to Glendale and I was informed that the truck couldn't be unloaded until payment is collected- but really how much would you know to collect since the job wasn't completed?!? And even better the credit card machine was down so they sat and milked the clock again on my dime while I drove a mile down the road to the nearest ATM pulled cashed, drove to Circle K to get change because neither driver had change on them and then back to the drop location to give them the exact amount so that they could unload the truck. Again, I worked harder than they did to get this done as soon as possible to make up for the time wasted. Which really wouldn't have mattered since they had all my card information and the card could have been ran at a later time... The truck was unloaded and a call made into dispatch- now I was owed a refund but once again neither driver had change. Here is a breakdown of my final bill: 2 hours @$75/hr = $150.00 Travel time (61 minutes) $76.24 Glendale Tax (15%) $40.00 Minus $100 deposit required to book Total paid in cash $166.24 However, 15% of $226.24 is NOT $40 it is $33.93 which means I was over charged. I've already contacted the City of Glendale to find out how to file a complaint and to get a partial refund since your dispatcher doesn't know how to compute simple math. Tuesday, April 16th I received a call from "Martin" calling to confirm my move?!? Yes, I received a call to have a completed move confirmed. As soon as I mentioned that I was unhappy with my experience I was told to submit an email- NO one is available to take a complaint via the phone. All in all, I wouldn't recommend Move-For-Less, Move 4 Less etc. to a dead rat. This entire move has left a sour taste in my mouth and by far one of the worst moving experiences I have ever had. This was the worst moving company!!!! I called an east valley number to get a quote. They stated that I should get 4 men and a semi for $125 bc it was a special. They stated no surprise fees. Actually that was wrong! They charged me $172 for portalto portal. They stated that they are located in north Phoenix and they were coming to chandler. They stated that google map stated it would take 45 minutes for each way! Why would a north Phoenix business have an east valley number? It is to scam people in the east valley for this ridiculous portal to portal charge. For 3.5 hours I paid $701! All they moved was my big stuff bc I moved everything else with uhaul the previous day. They unplugged the washer and broke the wall unit. They showed us the washer cable at the new house and told us that this won't fit. We didn't know until we went back to the old house. I tried to call to let them know and the guy that answered phone (Jim) said I need to email and they will contact me back. He said that they were busy and couldn't talk. My mom called back for a quote and they weren't busy enough to find next victim. He offered same special of 4 men. My experience with Move For Less was great. My move was relatively small. Moving my daughter into her own place. But we had a very heavy large steel school locker that needed to go up 2 flights of stairs, and around 2 tight corners. My movers Joe Gomez and Mike Ramirez handled the job like the professionals that they are. Everyone I spoke to from this company was friendly and helpful. Their rates are good and so is the service. I highly recommend Move For Less and will use them next time I have a move, large or small. read more

After a co-worker did research for her own move, I called and spoke to John Chandler. He quoted me $90/hr. for two guys for a small move from Peoria to Phoenix near their home base that we guessed would take 2 hrs. Their dispatcher called the day before the move and convinced me that 3 guys at $105/hr would be quicker. I trusted their experience. What no one told me was the one hour travel time (now calculated at $105) and the 15% total cost fuel surcharge (also now calculated at the higher hourly rate). The end price was 75% higher than originally estimated. Travel time and surcharges should have been discussed during the original query and not presented for signature while the move was in progress. We're surprised by the number and vehemence of the negative reviews on this site for this company, as we had a relatively good experience with them. Clem and Brian P showed up on time, moved our items without damage, and even went way beyond the extra mile to help us disassemble an old stove before it could be moved through the doorway. Our only complaint is that it was more expensive than we originally planned on, but not much more and all of the hours they put in were legitimate as far as we could tell. read more

My interactions with Move for Less resulted in the loss of hundreds of dollars. I was cheated out of hundreds of dollars to move furniture after first being quoted an amount and then having this price changed when presented with the bill. It is a fact that I was quoted an amount by a representative of Move for Less on the phone. This amount that I was quoted was later changed after the workers moved my furniture. I was presented with a bill for hundreds of dollars more than I was quoted. Therefore, I was victimized by being deceived to think the move would cost me half of what the final price was demanded. The loss of money after being lied to by this company does not end here. The price was not only doubled, but I was also cheated out of a $100 dollar deposit. I asked for confirmation E-mails and they were never sent. My girlfriend asked for confirmation E-mails and they were never sent. WARNING!!! DO NOT EVER USE "MOVE FOR LESS"!!!They were two hours late. They dropped my only two boxes labled, "fragile/glass. Shattered everything. in the boxes.Once they had every possession that I own in their truck less then a mile from our destination, they pulled over onto the side of the road and called me demanding I go find CASH or they WERE not going to finish delivering my belongings. They also added $85 to my trip charge and $20 per hour to my original quote. They also added a ton of tax on personal services??? The end result well over $300 more than I was originally quoted. They had all of my credit card info and a copy of my visa for their payment method at the start, yet aggressively demanded cash only. I wanted to call 911. Felt like I was literally being robbed by crooks. I reported my credit card stolen on my way to the bank while they waited in their truck for me to pay them cash first before unloading anything. Scheduled them to pick up and move my furniture on 8/30 at 2 pm. At 4, I called them. Said they didn't know if they could make it out because they were behind schedule and the guys hadn't picked up their kids and a storm was coming in. I told them I had other furniture coming in and this was not acceptable. Said they writing see what they could do... No confirmation. At 6 I called again, talked to Carl in dispatch. He said they would contact their subcontractor and see if he could do it and Carla would call me back. No call ever came. I called at 8 pm and he said someone would be out at 8 am the next morning. At 8:30 am the next morning they called to say someone would be there in an hour. My other furniture was being delivered at 9 am and I expressed my displeasure with their service. At 9:15, their mover called because he couldn't get into the complex. They brought a semi for a bed, dresser and nightstand. After an hour of them trying to get the truck somewhat in the complex, me taking my furniture downstairs myself so my other furniture could come in, they presented me with a contact that had to be signed. When I refused to sign the first sheet for the noon refundable $100 deposit, they refused to show me the rest of the contract. I told them to leave, that I didn't need their services. They already charged my card. I want my money back and no charges applied against Me. Would give a zero rating if possible. read more

Spoke with the owner of the company and he told me that they would have 4 guys come and load our house and it would take approximately 3 hours at a rate of $140.00 an hour. They were suppose to arrive at 8:00 A.M. did not show up till almost 3:00 P.M. Also, only 3 guys showed up and the boss called and told me that they were delayed due to another job. Sound familiar. They said since there was only 3 guys that they would only charge me $120.00 an hour. We were moving our stuff two miles away into a storage unit. Two of the guys were working really hard, while the one guy was standing around ordering the other two. Well instead of the job costing us $300.00-400.00, it took them over 8 hours and cost us $978.00 with an additional fuel charge of $178.00 that we were never told about. So DO NOT use these people, unless you get a FIRM price quote, do not let them sucker you into an hourly rate to move your things. Very dissatisfied. read more
