Great View!! And, did I mention great food! Quite surprised at how good the shrimp and grits were and the duck pasta. Service was great. We would return again!

9-21-24 6pm As we were walking on the riverfront there is a place on the road you are walking under a building and people are headed up in an elevator to a Roof top bar. So I tell hubby let's go. Well this ended up to be our best stop all day. When we got off the elevators there was tables with guest with drinks and food. Who knew we arrived at the Hyatt. We went to look for the hostess station and was told we had to order drinks at the bar and carry them outside to a table. Well the drinks were off the chart's amazing! Fresh juices were used to make my Cosmopolitan. As we got a round a drinks we sat outside what a beautiful view. If we wanted another drink back inside and repeat. Makes zero sense as there is table service but not if you are only drinking?! Thus one less star for lack of any service or hospitality. Although the bar staff was great and we tipped them as such. Definitely the only redeeming quality of the entire River front. That and the candy shop below.

For breakfast, you have a choice of either an ala carte or buffet; we opted for a buffet. They have a wide variety of choices. I loved their multi grain croissants among all the breads I tried. For dinner, their fried tomatoes were delicious. The calamari was crunchy, a little too crunchy, though, for my taste. The red sauce was flavorful. I loved it. The arugula salad was simple yet satisfying. The she crab soup tasted a little too buttery, less of a craby taste. We've also ordered their fried chicken, which we ate in the room. I didn't fancy it. It was lacking more batter. The chicken meat was bland. It should've been marinated more. The staff were very nice, friendly and attentive. They made sure my coffee cup always gets refilled. Empty plates were always cleared. Food is always replenished on the buffet table. On Fridays and Saturdays evening, they have live music. It was entertaining. I would love to come back again.

Moss and Oak is located in the Hyatt. If you're looking for a rooftop that is not too hot and has a beautiful view, this is it! We didn't even need a reservation for a family of four at dinner time (but maybe you would on a weekend?). You can see right down River Street and watch the boats pass on the river. The restaurant was classic upscale American food. We got the burrata salad, poutine, and wings. The burrata salad was good but nothing special. My family loved the poutine. They said the meat on top was amazing. I thought I'd be able to shared the poutine with them but the meat kind of overtook the dish and there was barely any cheese. It was more a meat and fries dish (still good! but not poutine). Their drinks here were good, and I had the chance to try a local Georgia cider.

Great patio seating with a view of the Savannah river and Georgia queen. I only ordered drinks, the Brussel sprouts were complimentary and the Negroni was made to my liking. I'd come here just to sit on the patio and people watch. Our waitress was friendly and checked on us periodically.

Moss + Oak was our last dinner in Savannah and it was overall a great experience. It's located inside of a hotel, but has spectacular views of the river if you eat outside (which I recommend). The food wasn't anything to write home about, but it was good and satisfied our cravings for seafood before heading back home to the midwest.

Location inside the Hyatt. Initially was drawn to the location because of happy hour, but ended up not ordering from that menu. I ordered the Azalea cocktail, it was so refreshing and so pretty. Food options were pricey and limited. Staff was friendly and was quick to refill our waters. Was enjoyable!

Nice ambiance Abby great open piano. Rowdy bachelorette going on. In a great area with lots to see and do. Poor service and menu knowledge. My food was thrown together per the photo. If you want a beverage refill you might need to go get it yourself.

The service was great, our waiter was quick and made sure we had everything we needed. We were traveling and stopped for the night at the Hyatt. It was pretty late in the evening so we decided to go here since it is part of the hotel. We had a variety of different dishes. My burger was dry, I know I ordered will done, but not dry. The kids pizza was pretty good. I guess the food was ok, not to special, the presentation was pretty though.

I ordered the Savannah cajun style flatbread...It had pepperoni, spicy sausage, peppers, and Cajun blue crab. It was pretty good I wasn't disappointed!

I do think a nice gesture of having a free dessert, being it was our anniversary, would've been nice (just a future suggestion). Street parking available and a game bar is next door, if wanting more fun entertainment after dessert!

While most of the rooftops are regularly accessible to the public, there's something about Myrtle & Rose which has caused it to elude us. Often, it has been closed for a private party, or perhaps it was full. In any case, we finally were carded and sent up the elevator with the slightly aggressive doors. Yes, they close fast. Keep a move on! We were offered a table overlooking the river and served by Will. My wife enjoyed her Amber Hour, and I an old fashioned. I suppose they don't want us getting tipsy and falling off, since my drink may have had 2 or 3 ounces. A good little taste, but not for long for this Wisconsin boy. Let's not go down the road of it being a "real" old fashioned -- I know and enjoy both kinds. (You must when you also own a distillery.) The two shining points of the evening were the view and our server. This spot offers a nice, close-up view of the river from both directions -- perfect for the occasional ships passing in the night. Our server, Will, was very professional, attentive, and thoughtful. By the end of the 50° night, Will had brought a blanket for my wife. While we can handle below-zero temps at home, there's something about 50° on vacation that gives us the shivers. Perhaps it was the dress -- I'm not sure, since I wasn't the one wearing it tonight. Anywho, finally a great experience was had at this well-done rooftop bar.

Unfortunately, our experience was frustrating from the moment we arrived. The biggest issue was the lack of staff. They desperately needed more bartenders and servers working that evening. As someone who has previously worked in the service industry, I understand that busy nights happen and staffing challenges are real, but this was beyond slow service. We stood waiting for about 15 minutes at the bar trying to get someone's attention just to order a drink. During that time, we noticed several other guests becoming frustrated as well. A few people who had been waiting before us eventually gave up and left, and others behind us seemed equally annoyed. After standing there without any acknowledgment from the staff, I finally turned to my husband and said, "Let's go." We ended up leaving without ordering a single drink. I don't know if the restaurant was unexpectedly short-staffed or if several employees called out that night, but something was clearly off. It's unfortunate because the location is fantastic, and the atmosphere seemed like it could have been a great place to spend the evening. I'd be willing to give it another try in the future, but based on this visit, the service simply wasn't able to keep up with the crowd.

It's right in the heart of downtown off Congress Street and across from the Rail Pub. There is street parking, but being downtown, it can definitely be limited. I finally stopped in after dinner hours around 7pm on Friday. Since it was date night we ordered the raw tower, which comes stacked with everything under the sun: oysters, shrimp, snow crab, lobster and mussels. I also ordered scallops and asked if it could be prepared without butter because of my dairy allergy. The kitchen has no problem making them with olive oil instead. Super delicious! I enjoyed it so much that I came back the following weekend with friends. I made reservations online during happy hour (4-6pm) and we were lucky enough to be seated in the small back dining room tucked away behind the bar. Our server was wonderful and very attentive, and I especially appreciated that she actually paid attention to the allergy notes I included with my reservations. Of course we all ordered a dozen oysters each because they're $1 during happy hour and who can beat that? I ordered the scallops again because I liked them so much the first time, and around the table we had a mixture of lobster, mussels, dressed oysters, turtle cheesecake, finishing everything off with espresso martinis. Hands down delicious. The service was top-tier too. Our server never hovered, but somehow always checked on us at just the right time and made sure we had everything we needed. Unfortunately, that may be where the greatness ends. We ordered varying dishes: fried chicken sandwich with collard greens, fried shrimp and fish basket with fries, and burgers. There was one consistent theme throughout: bland. The shrimp and fish tasted like...water? And I don't mean a seafood taste, but as one in our party described it: like licking your arm. Just flavorless and uninspiring. The crust and color on the chicken sandwich looked like I was about to bite into a life-altering morsel. But alas, I tasted chicken. And nothing else. We had very high hopes and were let down. I don't know if it was off day or what, but the food left a lot to be desired.
