I have only wonderful things to say about this classy Seattle bakery. I had dreams of my wedding cake since I was a little girl and Morfey's made them come true. So friendly, so positive, so accommodating, so delicious! A fun tasting appointment sealed the deal with choosing them for our team. They created a special flavor filling for our bottom layer (salted caramel whiskey). Paired perfectly with the chocolate cake. Champagne with champagne mousse was the top layer. Yum! I wish there was an option to give negative stars as I would give a -100 to this place. I wanted a pineapple cake for friends birthday so I called them and asked if they could make one. They said they could and I verified that the cake would be pineapple flavored and have pineapple filling. However the cake I got was cinnamon flavored and had a few pieces of pineapple as filling. My friend has a cinnamon allergy so she couldn't eat the cake at all. Extremely condescending and rude service. I came in after reading the good reviews and was appalled that the lady at the front of the shop did not look up ONCE while I was speaking to her. She said I needed to make an appointment, which Is understandable, but there is no excuse for the treatment I received. I had brought in a picture of the custom cake I wanted and just wanted a simple "yes" or "no" if the cake was possible to make an appointment and move forward. She did not even look up to quickly see the picture or even make eye contact with me. As I was leaving I said "thank you" to which I received no answer. Erin at Morfey's is an artist and extremely talented baker. Our wedding cake was divinely delicious, a huge hit, and more beautiful than I imagined. The shop even gave me a courtesy call to remind me to pick up the cake which was very helpful with everything else going on that day! The cake was also reasonably priced and well worth every penny. Erin also let us know she could bake a cake-for-two with the same flavors for our one year anniversary!! Unfortunately, the pizzazz ceased the moment I walked through the door and was introduced to the worst customer service I have encountered. What an utter disappointment. It was Thursday afternoon and I was asking for a birthday cake for Saturday afternoon. Ample time, I feel. Instead of graciously stating that they were overwhelmed with orders and had no possible time to complete my request, I was treated like a supplicant and literally laughed at for even beginning to think my request was reasonable. A simple and genuine, "I'm sorry but we will be unable to complete your request," would have sufficed. An employee with an attitude problem resulting in wretched customer service will overshadow and spoil any tasty dessert Morfey's could possibly create. read more

I've been ordering my daughter's birthday cake from this small, woman-owned business for almost 18 years. Not only are the cakes delicious, but beautiful. My daughter has had a theme for many of her birthdays and each cake was expertly decorated to match the birthday theme. Morfey's made our wedding cake and just did the cake for our anniversary party as well as cakes for a lot of family events. Their cakes taste great, look great, and are a bargain compared to a lot of cake bakeries. And they didn't use fondant which so many bakeries use to create interesting designs but tastes like paste. I want my cake to look great, but it's even more important that they taste great. A lot of the most publicized bakeries seem to forget that fact. read more

I was very pleased with the customer service I received. It may have helped that I actually went into the store. The person who greeted me was very cheerful and willing to help me get my cake just right. I brought in a photo of how I wanted the cake to be decorated and I think it turned out even better. The cake was tasty, but I would have liked it to be a bit moister and have a little less frosting. The frosting quantity might be my fault due to the design I wanted.The frosting had a nice flavor even if it was too much. I absolutely love Morfey's Cake! My husband and I got married in Seattle two years ago. We had our cake made at Morfey's and for our second anniversary I wanted to have the top of our wedding cake. Excellent cakes. I surprised my girlfriend on her 25th birthday with a carrot cake that had cream cheese and was done with fondue. Delicious and very presentable. They were very timely in letting me know when the cake was ready, and very good about instructions for pick-up. Here it is eight years later and I am still in good standing over that cake! Let's get the most important thing out of the way: the cake was delicious. We ordered a 2 layer chocolate cake with the standard buttercream icing and vanilla filling, what we got was pastry perfection. We also got it in about 48 hours with no hassle whatsoever, and the custom message on the cake came out better than we had hoped (inner-capped "conGRATulations!!!). The staff was very easy to work with and very accommodating. Oh, and the cake was beautiful, but you could guather that from pictures of other cakes on their website. Needed a last minute cake for a graduation a couple months ago and I stumbled into this bakery on my way to the ceremony! I asked them if they had any cakes available and they said they only have special order cakes ready and not any for sale, I was so bummed, but they had a few cakes in the back that they had and asked if I was wanted one of those. I opted for the chocolate and they were so accommodating and even offered to write on it and decorate it a bit. I waited for about 15 min for the cake and then it was ready! These cakes do not just look good, they actually taste delicious, which you usually don't get with wedding cakes. They did a great job of matching the color on our wedding invitations, and they delivered the cakes (wedding cake and two sheet cakes) right on time for the reception.Everyone loved the cakes--lemon and chocolate--and they were a big hit. The nicest part, however, has been the "cake topper" benefit. Instead of having to remove the top layer and freeze to have on your first anniversary, Morfey's offers to reproduce your top layer for only $10.00 for your first anniversary! I took them up on this offer this week, and they made us a lovely spice cake with our wedding decorations on the day we asked for it, even though we were a month late since we were out of the country on our anniversary. I think this is a really lovely offering, and it made our first anniversary really special. read more
