chicken pad thai, jade green curry, white rice ($2)

Pretty good, but a little pricey. Came here on a Saturday afternoon and my friends and I got a chicken pad thai and a jade curry with a side of white rice. The flavors of the pad thai were pretty good but I felt like the noodles were a little soggy but I still very much enjoyed the pad thai. The jade curry was a little more sweet than I expected but it was still pretty good. I never really had basil-y tasting curry so this was new! This restraunt was a little pricey but the servers were really nice and the interior was pretty cute. I think this is a nice place for a casual catch up with friends!

fried rice 4/5; pad Thai 3/5, summer rolls 4/5, satay 3.5/5 The food was averaging 3.6. There's plenty of room for improvement. The summer rolls only had 1 shrimp on top but the sauce did complement the rolls. The pad Thai was a bit too sweet and pungent smell of fish sauce. The skewers were ok. I will come back to try other dishes. The service was ok. The ambiance was very clean although was too hot inside.

The service was super fast and efficient, making a seamless dining experience. The food was both filling and delicious, we ordered Pad Thai with prawns, green beans with garlic and butter (you need to order rice separately for that, and gyozas as appetizers. It all came out quite fast and was delicious. The prices are reasonable, especially considering the generous portion sizes. The atmosphere inside the restaurant is quite chilled and cozy. Located in a vibrant area filled with shops and restaurants, finding parking can be a bit limited on the streets nearby. However, there are a few not expensive parking structure close by.

Great location for lunch in the Pasadena area! It's super convenient for me and my co workers and we usually come here when we are hankering for a sit down meal of Thai food. Plus, if you come during lunch during thier happy hour, you get a free egg roll and drink with your entree purchase! Thier Thai tea and green Thai tea are both very sweet, so you might want to ask for less sweetener, but I like it, so no changes for me there! I have been coming here a few years, hands down my favorite curry of thiers is the ruby curry, thier portion decent that I sometimes can't finish it. I like more sweet curries, and this one hits all the right spots! There's plenty of vegetables and bell peppers with the cheaper options of chicken, veggie, tofu and then also beef and shrimp for an uncharge. Service is friendly and pretty quick, as there usually not too much of a wait for everyone in our party to get thier meals! For about 20$usd (including tax and tip and time of this review) I think is a reasonable price for a sit down meal in Pasadena! Will continue to come here as long as I still find myself in the area wanting Thai food during lunch. There is a large parking structure on Green st (one way steet) and Fairoaks, connected to the same block building as Moom Thai, so pretty easy parking, as you go downstairs of the Green St exit and it's just around the corner!

Stopped here on a whim after the Rose Bowl game. We were walking from the stadium and were so hungry. Being celiac I can pretty much count on Thai food being gluten free. We were lucky and were able to be seated quickly. I could tell the server was very informed about the gluten free options. She was very knowledgeable. I ordered the PANANG curry-nutty curry, pea carrot, bell pepper, basil, green bean with chicken and white rice cost is $17.85 It was super nutty sweet and smooth. The restaurant and bathroom were nice and clean. The service was excellent. Would recommend for gluten free and any one else.

March 2024/Pasadena: Moom 48 Thai was a tasty surprise! Discovered the restaurant after seeing a movie nearby & craving a bite to eat! We stumbled upon this Thai restaurant while walking around! Spicy Eggplant w/Crispy Tofu: Absolutely delicious, incredibly flavorful and just a spicy as I love it! Grateful that my tofu was crispy just like I like it and requested it! Love this dish & would order it again!! I also ordered a side of white rice! Large portions; I had plenty of leftovers! Service With A Smile: Thanks, Audi! The food is so good. We ordered papaya salad, pad see u and Tom yum noodle soup. Their Tom yum noodle soup was bomb! Compared to other places it's less sweet, and it has fish cakes in it. I think the flavor is more balanced compared to most of other places I've tried. Pad see u is also super flavorful. And the papaya salad is very fresh. Every dish we ordered came in huge portion size and we were so satisfied

It was a cold night. It was time for some Thai food. No connection to cold nights or even rainy days/nights. Random night really. Haven't stepped into this restaurant which I pass quite frequently. Glad we did. Quenched my thirst with some Thai iced tea which is staple when at a Thai restaurant. Yellow curry was a bit spicy and I wasn't asked about the level of spicy preferred. Honestly didn't think about the spice level until I started to eat it. The flavor was there though with chicken potato and carrot. Enough for 2 meals for me. I had it with brown rice which had rice more grain in it? It was fine. Pad see yu is a favorite and it was yummy with chicken and veg. Leftovers were great the next day. Restaurant is clean. Staff is courteous and quick service. Parking garage around the corner and metered street parking. Will be frequenting this spot.

Everything was fresh and light, not overly salted or sweet, very little spice... also very little flavor. The vegetables and chicken were perfectly cooked. The wine pour was small. We had the shrimp wonton soup, cashew nut stir fry, and pad Thai. The service was solemn and polite. I'm rounding up a star because it was raining tonight... and rain makes some Angelinos sad. You know? I'm not sure we'll be back... but I wouldn't complain if we did. This isn't Thai Town folks.

Moon Thai was great. I've had a lot of thai food and this place was excellent. The prices were reasonable, especially lately. The food was yummy, hot, spicy, and the quality was lovely. The lady who helped asked me to call her to let her know what I thought of the drunken noodles, so I did and told them they were lovely. And the Tom Yum Kah was perfect. The definition of mediocre, overpriced, tourist Thai food. I had one of the curries and asked for very spicy. What I got had minimal flavor and 0 spice. The noodle soup was also pretty mediocre and definitely did not taste authentic. read more

I'm not the biggest fan of Thai food but I love Moom 48! My friend and I got the Pad See Ew and the Fried Rice from here and absolutely loved it. The textures and flavors were perfect and we'll definitely be coming here again. As for parking, there is street parking but we parked at the De Lacey parking structure as they have your first 90-minutes free. read more

We came in at 9:20 on a Friday night and the place was not busy had a lot of empty seats. Mine you, they close at 10pm. The employee turned us away and there was 3 of us. They said that the kitchen was closed due to high volume of orders they had to make. So they closed the kitchen? We were like ok, I didn't even say anything, we just walked out as they refused to serve us. Maybe because we were Asians and everyone in there were either white or hispanic. Excellent customer service! Nancy was so friendly and helpful and greeted me right as I entered the door. They have a new beautiful inside look along with a wide range of items on the menu but not to many where it's overwhelming and you can't decide . They have a happy hour 11:30am - 5pm which includes a free drink and egg roll! Both were so good! I got the Thai tea which was sweet but not toooooo sweet. And a pad see u chicken noodle dish which was so fresh! It had a good amount of veggies too for some crunch and freshness. I got my order to go and the chef came out to ask if I wanted my drink while I waited or wanted it all together! A great place for a date or family meal. I will definitely be a returning customer! Pad Thai was like wet rubber bands. Yellow curry was bland and runny. Tofu was uncooked. Egg rolls, beer, ambience and service were all good. Fire the cook. My wife couldn't wait to get home to brush her teeth. read more

It's a small local spot in Old Town Pasadena and it does not disappoint! The food is delicious. The portion sizes are absolutely reasonable for what you get. There is a quality about the food that is second to none. Recommend for a small date night with your significant other, or just a quiet night out for yourself. I've tried many Thai restaurants, the food here was all sweet. The fried rice was sweet the Tom Yum soup was sweet and curry chicken was sweet. Too sweet for my taste. Not sure if sweet or salty is the original food from Thailand but i'm used to a little sweetness this food was too sweet. The overall food freshness was great just wished they didn't use too much sugar. Not coming back as i'm watching my sugar intake. read more

Stopped in on Christmas was one of the few places open in town, the outside is unassuming but the inside has a warm and lively ambiance with interesting marble tables that sparkle. I had a Thai tea and drunken beef noodles both were excellent and cost a little over 20 dollars. read more

We ordered the yellow curry with chicken,the cheese wontons and the papaya salad. I requested the chili on the side for the salad, since I am a bit of a heat wimp, but the rest of the family loves it, and I saw a review that mentioned ordering it that way. Unfortunately I didn't receive the side of chili so I was ok but the heat people gave me the eye. We also ordered 2 Thai teas , all of this was for takeout. Everything was delicious and fresh, if you have a air fryer you can reheat the wontons since they cool down quickly in transit but my son was ready as soon as it arrived so they never made it to the fryer, I only got one. I also checked in for the free beverage but was informed that they only allow that for dine in although the gentleman on the phone said that he would honor it, I was still charged.That aside, it was a very enjoyable meal. read more

Not sure how this place obtain 5 stars reviews. We ordered delivery via Postmates and we ordered Tom Yum. What a disappointment. There is no taste of lemongrass, Galangal and lime leaves and we all know those are the KEY ingredients in making Any basic Thai cousins. Do yourselves a fav, remove the 'Thai' in your restaurant name because there is nothing Thai about it. 0/10 will not recommend. read more

Every dish we ordered was beyond our expectations. I ordered the spicy eggplant - VERY spicy according to my husband's taste and it was hot. This hardly ever happens and we were both so happy that they honored our instructions. We also got the pork skewers and they were delicious. The Tonkatsu Fried Rice was fantastic. I had a yen for noodles so I ordered Chow mein, another winner. We will be ordering again. Yum! read more

so delicious! my friend & i walked past here and popped on in and i'm so glad we did. we split the steamed dumplings, which came with this absolutely incredible dumpling sauce. i got the pad thai & she got the thai boat noodle soup (she is thai & said she doesn't typically see this in restaurants so she got super excited when she saw it on the menu). it was so delicious on a nice cold day. the environment was really peaceful, wait staff was super attentive. no complaints here! read more

The papaya salad was perfectly balanced--not too sweet and not too sour. The Tom Yum soup was incredible. My husband usually doesn't eat soup, but he loved it and kept commenting on how flavorful it was. The fried rice was also excellent, and the lunch special was a great value for the price. On top of the amazing food, the customer service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and attentive, which made the experience even better. We will definitely be coming back. I can't wait to try more dishes from the menu. Highly recommend!

Moon 48 Thai in Pasadena was such a lovely experience from start to finish. The space is cozy and intimate, and we were seated right away despite a steady crowd, which I really appreciated. Every dish we ordered was beautifully prepared--the flavors were incredibly rich, vibrant, and perfectly balanced, and the portions were more than generous without feeling overwhelming. The crab fried rice was truly the standout. It was packed with flavor and loaded with an impressive amount of crab--far more than I expected, and honestly one of the best I've had. We also had the most delicious papaya salad--fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor. This place would/should have 5 stars however this place will allow every credit card except the Apple Card, which is a card on the Mastercard network and this restaurant takes Mastercard. It's pretty low when a restaurant won't take your card just because it's got the Apple logo on it. If the owner is reading this, Apple Pay and the Apple Card are two completely separate things.
