I scheduled a business dinner at this venue for 6:30 pm for a large party. August 24th, at 6:30 pm. This was the 3rd reservation in as many months that I had made for my business guests and clients. (All large parties) One of our local Dallas VIP guests was late due to traffic. The hostess (and I use this word in its most general terms) would not seat the remainder of us 6 folks until the remaining individual made her appearance, which of course we could not guarantee. My clients were out of state, local banking and law firm VIP's. The hostess was rude, snobbish and arrogant. We left as a group, walked, and found another venue, with last min seating and folks that really appreciated our patronage. I will never book this venue again. The truth is: The food is average for the high price point, and the staff is "Privileged." There are plenty of other 5 Star Venues in Downtown Dallas. Don't waste your time. read more

This review is strictly in regards to their excellent bar/cocktail lounge. The drinks ranged from classic to "improved"/adventurous and the bartenders were top notch. This restaurant is beautiful. The service was lovely. The food was good. I just don't think I had the five star experience. The glass of sparking when you walk into the building is lovely. We had a nice table. The wine list was extensive. The sommelier helped pick a bottle and suggested we upgrade to a library bottle. It was good, but was it worth the price. Hmmm. We shared oysters, frito misto, and the Cesar salad. I had the pasta a la vodka. It was tasty. I have no complaints about the food, but no wow either. After dinner one of the waiters even invited us to take a walk around the restaurant to gaze out of the windows and indulge in the spectacular night skyline view. We went on a date here and we're totally blown away by the food and service. It's a great experience with amazing food. We were greeted in the lobby with glasses of sparkling wine for the elevator ride up. Nice touch. We were sat promptly with our reservation and were nearly immediately greeted by our waiter. He was top notch and truly a professional. All of the staff were top notch actually. We never wanted for anything. Our waiter always showed up at the right time without hovering, and was always very friendly. We had a few drinks, and he always showed up at the perfect time to order another. We ordered our entire meal at once and he spaced it out perfectly. We never felt rushed, and we never were left wondering when the next course would arrive. It was very well orchestrated. My water glass was never more than a few sips empty and was always topped off quickly and with no interruption. The food was amazing as well. We started with their caviar service. It's a full caviar service and well done - chives, crème fraiche, egg whites and egg yolk served with bilinis. Delicious caviar and well presented. For dinner, my husband opted for the Japanese A5 filet. I regret getting the sirloin strip even though it was the best sirloin strip I have ever had. It was well seasoned, tender and cooked perfectly medium rare. My husbands filet was out of this world good. Incredibly tender with a great flavor. Again, seasoned and cooked perfectly medium rare. We had the black truffle mashed potatoes as the side. The sides are huge and we didn't make a dent in the potatoes. They were really good, but *really* buttery. I had the black truffle butter for my steak and it was the perfect amount of truffle. We ended the night splitting the panna cotta. It was delightful and refreshing after the umami meal we had. The mango mint sorbet is tremendous. We visited the floor above for a lovely 360 view of DFW. By the restrooms there is a door to the Japanese restaurant. The journey to the hotel was a bit confusing but me and my friend enjoyed the adventure lol. Staff were friendly and attentive. My girlfriend and I drove from Austin to Dallas to try this place out... I had a reservation at 9pm I arrived 5 min before and checked in. I understand the place was busy and I wasn't going to be sat right away; however the hostess marked me as a "No show" I asked 3 times to see how much longer I had to wait, every time I got a different response it wasn't until my girl friend went and spoke to the head hostess that they where able to sit us... we waited for an hour after our reservation to be seated. We did the Royale and I can't recommend this enough, you will leave not only stuffed but so spoiled that regular food the next day will be ruined and unappetizing. The cocktails were good, I tried a non-alcoholic lavender drink which was very refreshing. Food came out very quickly and the waiter was very knowledgeable of the menu items. The herb ricotta agnolotti was so tasty - it melts in the mouth. We also tried the filet mignon and halibut which were both good as well. The chocolate cake came with a lit candle since we were celebrating a birthday, it was good but very filling and slightly over-sweet. This place is such an interesting mixed bag. The service, the views, the general vibe of the place is all 5-star initially . No doubt. Our server was almost comically friendly to the point where it was approaching feeling phony. The inside of the restaurant and the views were also incredible. All that being said, the clientele and mood of this place is extremely pretentious. If you're a 50+ greasy dude with your 24 year old girlfriend, you're the target demographic. The food, which is the source of my low score, was really disappointing. It was all extremely average and does not live up to the hype, and certainly not the price. I had a steak which was overcooked and completely flavorless, and my wife had some seafood that she said was "just ok". One of our sides was completely wrong, and the pasta dish we ordered was served cold. Our server told us he would address stuff but then disappeared until we were done eating. So I guess we got a side to go which will just end up in the trash. Our server also aggressively requested to put his contact info in my wife's phone so we could contact him "for reservations and stuff". That was fucking weird. Full stop. All in, this restaurant serves up extremely overpriced food for those times when you want to impress someone and pretend that you're classy. read more

This is one of the hottest and coziest spots to dine in Dallas. It has has everything for most foodies, romantic view, ambiance, great food and service. I didn't feel like it was a tourist trap. Dined here several times with friends and we all have similar but different palettes and there has not been a complaint. Not too big on cocktails but did take a liking to The Duchess The CRUDO is a favorite of mine but also liked the Fritto Misto and Oven Roasted Prawns were all amazing. This is a good one. Tasty dishes with some interesting flavors throughout. You're supposed to order your dishes "family-style" here, which means order a meat, a few pastas to accompany the meat, and whatever other appetizers you want, and everything gets shared among the whole table. The highlight for us was the burrata "salad," which has no leafy greens whatsoever but had a lot of tomatoes and other veggies I couldn't quite make out, but either way it was delicious. The ribeye was so shockingly tender that I don't think I've ever had an easier time cutting a piece of meat. Overall would recommend, there's genuinely a lot of care places into the food.
