I have a golden rule for restaurants: NEVER go 30 minutes or less priori to closing. You either get the death stare when you walk in the door, food won't be great, and you'll be rushed. But we were coming in from out of town, hungry, so we took a gamble. And boy did it pay off! Although it did take a while to get service and then food took a little longer than usual, everything was delicious! All of our plates were good portions, the sushi had great flavor and was properly rolled..not too big, not too small. The staff was friendly, courteous, and came to apologize for the delay. And even though we were the last ones to leave, we never felt rushed!! So glad we found this gem, would definitely be back next time we roll into Georgetown! read more

This place is OK. I would come again, but it does not beat my go to place. There sushi was good. They were very courteous and nice. My waitress seemed a little new, but still very nice which is why I'm willing to try it again. The setting kind of reminds me of an old school Chinese restaurant, so it is appropriate that they have Chinese food as well. I didn't try any of their Chinese food so I can't review on that. We went last Friday and had a great meal. The fish tasted super fresh and was very affordable. I paid $11 for two rolls and a seaweed salad- the lunch specials are great. Only complaint is that service was a little slow (they only had one waitress- but she was doing an awesome job) and they only had a couple menus available... but I think they will get these things figured out in the upcoming weeks and are hiring. I am super excited to have a delicious sushi restaurant with fresh fish that is affordable in Georgetown. I will definitely be back soon. read more

Finally, a decent sushi restaurant in Georgetown, so we don't have to drive the distance to, and pay the prices in, Austin! The owner/chef is creative and pays a lot of attention to detail, yet he is very open to suggestions and requests. He makes a concerted effort to hear the feedback from and get to know his customers. Admittedly, my wife and I are former west coast sushi snobs who are used to fresh, authentic, and reasonably priced sushi. This is the closest we've come to all three anywhere in central Texas! The restaurant has a basic, but comfortable and friendly atmosphere; a warm, charming, and attentive staff; good beer, and reasonable prices. When I first wrote this review, there were a few things we like, for example shiso leaf and natto, which the owner either used to serve or simply chose not to offer, because there isn't a lot of demand for them in these parts. He told us he added ankimo to the menu because a regular customer requested it, And since then, he ordered the other items just for us! The way he serves natto is among the best I've tasted. I have been to Misu Sushi about a dozen times since it opened. We enjoy their sushi (after living in Seattle for 5 years, we feel that we know good fish/sushi and Misu has been a refreshing change from the other restaurant in GTown and Grocery store sushi). Sadly we wanted to introduce my mom to Misu tonight (Saturday night about 6pm). It was busy so we waited 10-15 minutes for a table which was ok. After being seated, the server delivered our drinks and informed us that if we wanted sushi it would be about a 45 minute wait...are you kidding?? Next time inform us before we wait for a table and order drinks! We left a $5 bill for the iced teas and wakes out. Need to work out staff kinks still...fortunately their sushi is good enough for us to return. They need a larger sushi bar!! read more

Best sushi in Georgetown! My husband and I were pleasantly surprised with our experience. We moved from Orange County California where there is great sushi around every corner. Misu did not disappoint! We had spicy edamame, seaweed salad, salmon nigiri, cosmopolitan roll, dragon roll, and happy valley. ALL were delicious and the fish tasted very fresh. The restaurant filled up and even in the busyness our server was very attentive and super friendly! We are so excited to have found our sushi place right here in Georgetown. This is great sushi! We ordered to-go for my birthday and when my husband came to pick it up he had to wait 15-20 minutes. They gave him sake on the house. But we were happy with the food so it wasn't a big deal. We came back to eat in, 6 weeks later, the owner remembered us and brought us sake on the house. I took my grandson to Misu's as I have done many times before. While the food isn't the greatest the service has been good. This time we got a little red head who wasn't at all acceptable. Mr grandson order Misu Soup, Sushi and fried rice with chicken. I advised the waitress to make the fried rise a side order. She said what and I repeated my self. When the rice came I advised her that I had requested a side order. At this time she advised me that they didn't do side orders of fried rice. I advised her that in the past we had gotten side orders of fried rice and she told me Misu's had never offered side orders of fried rice essentially calling me a liar. I adjusted the tip for the additional cost of the full order of rice. I will be checking my credit card account in case she tried to adjust it. read more

Third time I've eaten here, wanted it to work, unfortunately it just hasn't gotten any better. The sashimi portions are soo small it's not worth the drive or the price. Both Randalls and HEB offer sashimi portions twice the size for half the price. I know you can't directly compare supermarket and restaurant sashimi, but there shouldn't be that big of disparity, as they are an alternative to going to this restaurant. I've been to Misu about 8 times now and I can honestly say that it is amazing. The sushi is fresh, the appetizers are a great size, and the service is quick and friendly. This is a pretty good place to go if you're craving some sushi. The Sea Bridge roll was good, though it had too much mayo on top. The hot and sour soup was not sour at all, and was WAYYYYYYY too salty. The unaju (eel) rice was great . The sashimi all tasted really fresh. The service was friendly, though not extremely attentive. The food was quite good, well made. There are a few bummers tho: we did take out for our first visit, and our rolls did not have wasabi included (that was a bummer when we got home) and to our great surprise there was shrimp on the rainbow roll; yikes. Furthermore, the Kama (fish shoulder) was tiny and didn't have the traditional sauce included. I'm new to Texas, so maybe that's usual, or not, but a tiny bummer.
