    Onion Soup

I was in the mood for some Japanese food, so I stopped by Wasabi in Georgetown--[[HIGHLIGHT]]it's a convenient spot with a nice overall decor that gives off a cozy Asian vibe, though it could use a bit of a refresh and deep clean.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The service was friendly and attentive, which helped make the experience enjoyable. I ordered the hibachi steak with scallops, which came with the usual soup, salad, and fried rice. While the portion was generous, the dish leaned more toward a Chinese-style broccoli beef flavor than traditional hibachi--tasty in its own way, but not quite what I expected for Japanese. The scallops were on the smaller side (about quarter-sized and thin), and overall, the entrée felt like it might have been prepped in advance rather than cooked fresh to order. The onion soup was a simple chicken broth, which was comforting but not distinctly Japanese. Prices are a bit on the higher side for the quality and authenticity delivered. If you're craving solid Chinese takeout flavors in a sit-down setting, I'd come back for that--but I'd probably skip it if I'm specifically in the mood for Japanese cuisine. I did enjoy the fortune cookie, got a good laugh out of it.

Lunch Specials include Egg roll, fried rice, soup or salad. Plainly stated.

When a customer order a lunch special entree, don't tell them that it doesn't come with fried rice because it plainly states that all lunch specials come with egg roll, fried rice and soup or salad. Just honor the request and bring fried rice. If you don't want to include fried rice then change the menu. Major fail!

Came in to try something new, was pleasantly surprised by the new dishes. Service was amazing as always. Amber and Henry do a great job at being attentive. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The lighting is great as well, not too dark or overly bright.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Can't wait to return!

    Calamari

Don't order the calamari appetizer. The 9.95 calamari for 5 small pieces was disheartening. The rest of our meal was par. Really disappointing. wanted it to have improved since our last visit. The service was good.

It never fails! Wasabi's sushi is always so fresh! I come here about twice a month and you can always count on the freshness. Tonight I ordered their fried veggie rolls for the first time and they are to die for! Each order comes with three egg rolls with sweet and sour sauce. The rolls came out so crispy and hot! (Be careful though because they do come out pretty hot and can burn your tongue if you bite into them to quickly). Also note their is a bit of a spicy kick to them as well so if you are adverse to any spice these may not be the rolls for you. I personally love a little spice to my food so my palate was very happy! I also ordered the Dancing Salman roll, the Philly roll as well Salman and tuna sushi. All around delightful! Additionally, the staff is very friendly, humorous and make you feel so welcomed. I have sparked up multiple conversations with members of their team and they put a smile on my face. I always leave happy and full!

This is an amazing little gem in Georgetown. I come here at least a couple times a year although I wish I came more often! The sushi is always fresh and full of flavor. If sushi is not your thing, they also have some amazing cooked dishes for those who don't share the love of raw fish. The people here are always really friendly and try really hard to keep you happy. The place is always calm and quiet so it is a good spot to chill. This is a MUST VISIT in Georgetown, especially if you like SUSHI!

The first thing I noticed upon entering is; the restaurant smelled very pleasant and clean, unlike a couple of other good sushi restaurants that I do not like entering. We ordered the Viking, fantasy, spicy Ninja rolls and all we're done very well. Hreat flavors and freshness. I would say most notably their fish was extremely fresh tonight. none of that slimy strong tasting stuff you get from some places. Sorry, I know totally gross! That is why the past year or so we pretty much quit going to many sushi restaurants in the area. It just wasn't worth the cost. I hate to say it; but actually H-E-B can beat some of these other sushi restaurants on certain nights. But the fish here tasted fresh like it should taste. Service was quick and efficient and pleasant. We will try it again before too long and I will update accordingly. But I totally know fresh fish when I taste it and this was it.

Surroundings that transport you somewhere, like a villa, to embrace a type of cuisine? Here, I'd say ambiance is a comfortable escape with a kitchen and menu offering quality Japanese fare we all crave. The menu is vast and easy to read as you nestle in the cozy, Japanese themed surroundings. Not fancy. Cozy. You quickly forget the strip mall location and vape shop next door. It's a place to settle in for a spell or a quick, relaxing lunch. The service was extremely friendly, smiling and quick. The sushi was delicious, proper temperature and flavorful. The spicy seasonings were on point and the very spicy is appropriately noted on menu. I'm going back for more exploration, relaxation and `affordable quality.

It's not the best ramen I've had but still very good compared to other spots in the Austin area…read more The broth and seasoning is less saltier compared to other restaurants and it reminds me of the ramen I've had in Japan where the broth is generally lighter tasting. The noodles were thin and had a nice chew, apparently made in-house according to the bartenders. The karaage wasn't heavily battered, and the chicken was nicely cooked - I liked that. The establishment is still fairly new, it took a little longer to get most of our food but the bartenders comped part of our meal which was generous since we were in no rush, drinking our heavy-handed cocktails and enjoying the ambiance of the red sun. Love that they have Toki high-balls on the menu, more Japanese restaurants here need that, it's literally a staple of Japanese ramen/izakaya cuisine. 4.5 stars from me, the staff and bartenders are absolutely fun to converse with at the bar. Rounding up to 5 on Yelp because I think Georgetown is lucky to have a spot like this and everyone should check it out. I'll hold onto the extra .5 rating since I haven't quite found a dish here that I could eat every week or the perfect drink. I want this place to succeed, I'm hoping for continuous improvement.

Came in around 5PM on a Tuesday and it was relatively empty. The staff were great, very nice and helpful with the menu. I haven't had many Ramen dishes so I chose the spicy Tonkotsu with a crisp Sapporo on tap. The bowl came quickly and was at the right temperature. The bowl seemed a little small but I thinking of memories of a bowl of Pho.. the broth was amazing, very smooth and silky with an amazing flavor. It had enough spice to make my nose run a little. The pork belly was tender and delicious. The noodles were this and almost Al Dente.. all in all, I enjoyed the Ramen, and the Sapporo... The only negative to me was that the place is very dark, someone else mentioned being lit by the red sun, which is a perfect description. The menu was rather limited but it is a Ramen and Sake bar. I will definitely come back and try some saki..

Poke House is a really good "go to" for a great poke bowl…read more First, the staff is always patient and really helpful! That is important when there are so many options to choose from. Patrons are making a ton of choices from all of the great options and, it can be time consuming. Today, I stopped by to pick up 2 bowls. Each had VERY different ingredients and sauces. The employee was patient and very accommodating. I was reading, off my phone, the options that my sister chose. Then, giving the options that I chose for the second bowl. He didn't skip a beat. Even more frustrating for him, I think, was asking for all of the sauces on the side. He didn't seem to mind. He graciously put all of the sauces in little cups. He also labeled them with a Sharpie. Nice touch! Before I move on with the review, I'd like to offer a suggestion for the side sauces. If you are taking your order to go, the sauce containers will ultimately tip over in the bag, on the way home. Although the containers are of good quality, the sauce often leaks out. Perhaps adding a quick wrap of Saran Wrap (or the like), would aid in keeping the multiple sauce containers from tipping over in the bag, on the way home. The fish has always tasted fresh! Not once have I eaten here and complained about the quality! Sometimes we don't want to go to a sushi restaurant to get good raw fish. It's also hard to trust a poke restaurant in a strip mall. Trust me on this, Poke House does the job! I've been to this location at least a dozen times. Not once, was I disappointed in the quality and service. I'm so glad that this place is so close to me! Job well done! When you get that tip option on the screen, do what you see fit. Please consider the patience and kindness of the person building your lunch or dinner.

TOPPINGS - Choices include chili flakes, furikake, garlic crisps, ginger, onion flakes, sesame seeds, shredded nori, tempura crisps, spicy mayo, wasabi aioli, and wasabi. You can choose any or all of the toppings included with the price of your bowl. I absolutely LOVE how customizable the bowls are! A lot of poke restaurants limit the number of toppings or charge extra for a majority of the items but this was pretty much all-inclusive. I was able to make my perfect bowl for one set price and left feeling full and satisfied! I randomly stopped here for dinner after searching on the map for a healthy and quick dinner option but it's now one of my favorite places! It can be hard to find nutrition information for a lot of restaurants so I absolutely love that they have it available online. If you love poke, it doesn't get much better than Poke House!
