I've been here twice now and now that I live within walking distance, I really wanted to find a cute little cafe that I could get some work done and meet with clients. The first time was quite disappointing because the lady wasn't very inviting, didn't smile, and being my first time trying this tea place, I needed some recommendations... I didn't know what to expect coming in... I looked at the menu but didn't really even know where to start. I prefer my teas a bit on the sweeter side but she just shrugged and said, "we don't really do sweet"... I forgot what I ordered but it was bland and just ... not worth the $5 I spent. I told myself, I might not come back but then one of my clients actually likes this place so I decided to give it one more try. My original experience I would have given 2 stars. But I bumped it up to 4 because the second time around, things got better! We were greeted by a different employee this time around, she' was actually nice and had a warm friendly face, I asked for recommendations once more and I ended up ordering a drink that was tasty, flavorful, and worth it! When I went to this lovely little tea shop and restaurant their kitchen was closed. It wasn't even something that it was a factor because I loved the chai and pastry I got here. To be specific I got their Golden Chai which was out of this world! Black Pepper was an ingredient with it and I just loved that perking up in complexity of flavors this lovely drink had. Miro tea is good and has really tasty pastries from Fuji bakery. They also have this black velvet cake that's pretty delicious. I like that they have a binder full of all the tea leaves they have for purchasing so I can buy some to take home. In my experience, this cafe has been consistently busy so I personally wouldn't study here, but if you're lucky you'll find seating. Generally the customers here are nice and they'll share tables if you ask. The staff here are also friendly and willing to answer questions and give recommendations. read more

Tried their super food latte- ruby ginger on a busy Sunday morning. Lines were long but they were moving quickly. The guy at the counter was visibly exhausted by 11 am :-/ I got the iced variation of this drink and I couldn't tell the flavor profile of this drink as it seemed watered down. For $6 (excl tax and tip), it's a pretty expensive drink with limited flavor. May come back to try something different, and give it another chance. read more

This tea cafe is wonderful! The service is great, and the workers all clearly know a lot about tea as a whole. Overall, the drinks are lovely. They aren't too sweet, and if anything, you have to remember to ask for sweetener if you prefer sweeter drinks. I personally love less sweet drinks, so this place is perfect. The tea flavor is also very strong, which I really love for a tea cafe. It's super crowded on Sundays since it's right near the Ballard farmers market, but the line goes by decently fast! I ended up having iced Jasmine Tea and it was perfect. There is so much variety to choose from when you go to Miro. Not only can you pick from your "standard tea" items. There over 40 blends of loose leaf tea that they can brew freshly for you. Additionally, you can purchase loose leaf tea to brew at home. I loved my experience. I loved the tea. I got a very interesting tea that I haven't seen anything like on any other cafe menu--summer velvet. It has a sweet corn cold foam made with oat milk. Soooo good! I can't even describe it. It cost $7+ with my oat milk substitution (additional 30 cents). But worth it in my opinion. Adorable cafe! I love the greenery and woodsy interior design. I adored the ube latte and it was delicious - very strong flavor, creamy texture and actual bits of ube! There is also spacious indoor seating which is a rarity for a Seattle coffee shop. If I lived in this area, I could definitely envision myself coming here for a study session or two. We dropped by Miro Tea while visiting Seattle and were so pleasantly surprised to find a place that had so many varieties of unique tea lattes that I had never seen before. As people who don't usually drink coffee and love to try new tea, my husband and I were so excited. My husband got a seasonal ube tea latte and I got the jasmine tea latte with juniper syrup - both absolutely delicious with mild sweetness and deep flavor. Also really cute interior, super modern and even cute seating outside. They also have a selection of teas to purchase and tea related appliances and gadgets available. After getting lunch in Ballard, my friend and I decided to check out Miro Tea, a small urban café on Ballard Ave. On a Sunday afternoon, this place was hopping with people. There was a long line out the door and almost no seats available. My friend and I grabbed a menu booklet while we waited for the line to shorten. We were overwhelmed with over 150 different tea options. The menu contained all sorts of varieties of black, green, rooibos, chai and oolong teas. It was 20 pages long and basically an atlas on tea. The teas were grouped by origin and contained a flavor profile and picture of each tea. All of the tea prices were around $4 for a cup and I think around $6 for a pot. You also had the option of adding milk or plant milk for an additional $0.75 or so. It took us a good 15 minutes to decide, but I finally settled on the Vanilla Coconut Red Rooibos. My friend went with the Longan Black Tea. We were both full from lunch, so we just ordered two cups to go without any added milk or sweetener. After we got our drinks, we were fortunate enough to find a table for two. There is very little spacing between tables, so it was a maze trying to get to it. Once my tea had cooled down some, I took a sip, and was impressed by the strong vanilla flavor and aroma. The Vanilla Coconut Rooibos definitely lived up to its name. I also tried my friend's Longan tea (which is an Asian fruit similar to lychee), and thought it had delicate fruity notes. I'm not a huge fruit tea fan, so I personally liked mine better. My only complaint about this place is their lack of seating. Other than that, this would be a great place to meet up with friends or try a variety of unique tea flavors you can't find anywhere else! read more

Miro tea is the place to visit if you're a tea drinker. They have a rotating seasonal menu with hot and cold drinks which is always fun to try. I was walking around the neighborhood on a weekend morning and popped in randomly. Inside is quite spacious and there were still a good number of seats available even though a lot of people were there already around 11 am. I felt like I'm doing something wrong when I ordered coffee because this is a tea place and they had a lot more tea options than coffee drinks. I was too lazy to pick from the options though. It was nice of the staff to not judge me ordering coffee, and their latte was pretty good. I also liked how there were many pastry selections where I got to try baked goods from Fuji Bakery. THE BIG: Cute tea shop in the heart of Ballard. Tons of options, even has a gaiwan, traditional chinese tea service. THE BLACK AND WHITE: The roomie is from Taiwan and was craving a tea shop. Miro Tea was one of the first options that popped up and we weren't disappointed. The shop is spacious and there seemed to be a lot of people working or conversing at 3pm on a Monday afternoon. Be aware, the menus is quite expansive. As long as you have an idea of what kind of tea you want, it should be easy to navigate. If you're still unsure, there are 4 teas out that you can sample from! We settled on the green tea blend, Masala Mint Green, which incorporates peppermint, ginger, fennel, and black pepper. It was a nice spicy refreshing treat. A cup is normally around $3 while a pot is around $5. THE FINAL BAMBOO: A 20oz loose leaf tea pot with unlimited hot water refills for $6.85 is a great deal! Every time I'm in Ballard, I try to stop by Miro. I've had the London Fog, which was made perfectly. The earl grey was steeped perfectly, the drink was creamy and just really good. My dad ended up stealing it and drinking it all. I also tried the Strawberry Supernova this past weekend when it was sunny and hot. It's the perfect summer iced tea drink. Green tea, muddled strawberries, and a passion fruit syrup. The green tea flavor wasn't lost, and the strawberries added a perfect burst of sweetness. The service isn't super friendly, but they're just nice enough. The food is a little pricey. I got my boyfriend the nutella banana crepe that has a berry drizzle on top. I have been to Miro Tea multiple times, I enjoyed my drinks every time. I have had strawberry supernova ( like strawberry sparkling water, very refreshing!), pink chai, and golden orange ( I'm not a big fan of it because the turmeric flavor, but my boyfriend likes it). It's right next to the Ballard Sunday market, definitely a hot spot and there is always a line. I like the aesthetic and the decoration of the tea store a lot.
