    Matcha latte iced
    Isra A.

im so pleasantly surprised! i think this was a solid matcha! I ordered the regular iced matcha latte, no frills. Not too sweet, still taste the earthy/vegetal matcha. service was amazing too. We showed up close to closing time and they still happily made us our drinks. so glad they did! I will definitely be back to try the jasmine matcha!

I was excited to try this new matcha spot on the Ave, but it was a disappointment across all fronts. Sharing a space with elixir dessert bar (Grean from 8am-2pm, elixir from 2pm onwards), Grean sells matcha and hojicha drinks, and some Asian pastries and cookies from Kemi's dessert bar. I ordered the matcha Jasmine oat latte (no extra charge for oat milk), which cost me just under $9. Pricy. It was approximately 60% ice and the matcha was gritty. When I finished my latte, there were clumps of matcha stuck on the bottom of the cup. Disappointing. My friend ordered the pandan honeycomb cake, which he said was mid. My other friends matcha latte with regular milk was overly sweetened, which masked the matcha flavor. I've tried Kemi Dessert Bar before, and I don't like their treats either. Plus $5 for a cookie is pretty high. Wifi is supposedly free, but it doesn't work. However, it is within the range of the UW WiFi, so you can still access the internet, but it's not thanks to Grean. The store is very loud, both downstairs and upstairs, as the space is large and a lot of students seem to enjoy studying here. It's not a place I would go to concentrate. One positive I will mention is that they have a wheelchair lift up to the second floor, which I don't commonly see in cafes. Parking is tough as always in the udistrict. With so many great matcha shops in the city, Grean isn't one I would recommend or come back to again.

Green is definitely one of the better matcha places in Seattle and I'm so happy that's located in the university District area. They've been around for a long time and has truly perfected their craft. Love how big the space is a great study and work space. The owners are great and service is fast. I love their Matcha lattes. It has the perfect sweetness, as I am someone who don't like, overly sweet Matcha and like that slight bitter taste to it. Their cheese cake was also super yummy!! Definitely coming back to try their hojicha as well!

Grean took over the old Oasis boba shop (iykyk) with another dessert bar. Matcha is available until 2 PM. I saw people ordering their matcha basque cheesecake. It looks pretty legit. They sift their matcha and hand whisk every order, so there's no clumps in my drink at all. The oat milk they use is califia's cafe oat, and you don't get charged extra for it. I'm very glad they don't use minor figures because I can't stand that oat milk. I'm a huge fan of the gorgeous green you get. Not pale. Not yellow. The default sweetness is just right for me, but there's a simple syrup you can add if it's not sweet enough. Drink takes a bit to come out, but considering how much the 2 staff were whisking away, not bad at all. A simple matcha latte is around $8.50. Pretty standard in Seattle. The look of the store is definitely an upgrade from the old Oasis, but somehow it still has that funky smell like the old Oasis. It's not a place to study quietly unless you have some noise canceling headphones, but it's definitely a good spot to chat and spill the tea ;) Would definitely return if I'm in the area again!

Great study space! I love how there are many seating options to sit in groups or on your own to get some work done. Their matcha is quite tasty and not too sweet for the latte. I got the matcha jasmine strawberry latte. I wanted the banana one but it wasn't available until later in the day. It's cool to see the staff whisking the matcha in the front. The pandan cake was like a rice cake/sponge cake. Not too bad. I look forward to trying their basque cheesecake sometime. Overall a great spot to chill in the day and get your matcha fix.

I've been able to try both the banana bread matcha and strawberry matcha, both jasmine and regular. I think this place nails the matcha intensity if these sweet drinks while having a great unique flavor. I was especially surprised at how the banana bread flavor was so distinct from a normal banana matcha. The vibe inside is nice and spacious and curated, and the service has been nice and helpful both times I visited. I'll definitely come back and bring more folks to try.

Grean matcha is located inside the Elixir building on the main area in University District. It's super cute inside and has a large space to do some work or just hang out. This place has one of the best matchas I've had in Seattle. They seem to always have some matcha specials with different featured flavors. I came here and tried their strawberry jasmine matcha latte. It was very good and had great flavor. I would definitely come back here.

Great place to get matcha around UW/Seattle! Large place to sit down and work/study. They have small pastries and of course lots of matcha options! The drink wasn't too sweet and had strong matcha taste!

Really really cute spot spot with lots of seating and really cute decor and friendly staff. I tried the seasonal drinks: a banana bread matcha, strawberry matcha, and strawberry jasmine matcha and overall it was all good! I didn't care for the banana drink but wasn't my order and isn't my taste. I do love a strawberry matcha though and was excited to see they had two on the menu. I really really loved the strawberry jasmine matcha and it might be my favorite matcha I've had in Seattle so I really hope they consider bringing it back full time. The strawberry matcha was also good, but I think I've had comparable ones nearby

By far the best banana matcha I've tried in Seattle so far! The strawberry matcha and cheesecake were also really good. We were greeted right as we walked in and everyone was very kind. The space is super cute with an upstairs and downstairs, lots of space for relaxing or working. This cafe is a shared space, and transitions after 2pm.

Beautiful, delicious, amazing new matcha spot on the ave! I had a pleasant experience visiting Grean which took over the old Oasis unit on the ave. I really love what they did with the space! The ambiance and vibes in the store are very relaxing and cozy- I could absolutely see myself studying or working remotely from this cafe. There is plenty of seating although it can be quite busy as it is a cafe in the U-District. Their matcha quality is great! I got the matcha latte which was pleasant, and have even returned to try their matcha with pandan top and matcha with cheese top. I thought the matcha paired very well with the pandan. I wish the cheese top had more of a cheesy taste but texture was great. The employees here are extremely friendly and quick as well! The employee Emily was very helpful in giving recommendations. Parking can be a bit difficult on the ave so I would suggest taking public transportation. I am excited to return to try more of their menu as they also have hojicha and small bites.

Loved Grean Matcha! The workers were super nice and really helpful, they took the time to explain the different options and made the whole ordering process easy, especially if you're not super familiar with matcha or hojicha. The space itself is also great with lots of seating inside. The drinks were also delicious. Both the matcha and hojicha were really good, smooth, flavorful, and clearly high quality. I'll definitely be coming back!

But honestly? The energy worked. The staff was moving with that calm, unbothered flow only seasoned baristas have. Light was flooding every corner; that soft Seattle glow that makes you want to pull out your journal and pretend you live inside a cozy indie film. Ventilation was perfect. Temperature was perfect. Seating options? Abundant. And not the awkward wobbly kind either. This spot is built for lingering. I grabbed a latte, sat down, and immediately fell into an art journaling trance. I looked up their yelp page as well as their Instagram and knew I had to come just to get one of their lattes with their amazing foam art! They have a variety of waffles and sandwiches on the menu that seemed appetizing however because I got here after 3:30 the kitchen was closed but they have a variety of pre-made burritos and sandwiches that you could still buy. I love that they have a huge variety of non-dairy milks including soy which is my favorite. I wanted to get the turmeric latte however I mentioned that I couldn't wait to see the foam art and the Baristas told me that due to the light color of the latte, it would be difficult to see the foam art so I instead ordered the red velvet latte with soy and it was as delicious as it was cute! I also got the egg and sausage cheese burrito and it was chock full of eggs and sausage... very filling. The decor and seating options are plentiful upstairs and downstairs. They also have free pineapple infused water for guests to drink which I appreciate. Seems like a popular spot for UW students to do work as there are lots of outlets for their laptops.

It took about 5-7 minutes to get our drinks, and the place was packed around 1:30 pm on a Saturday.
