Miro is a popular spot to go during the farmers market hours, so lines get long! I had visited a year ago and returned since it was very good. The tea quality is worth the wait. The matcha latte and chai latte I tried on a recent visit were both great. You can choose between three matcha options for a latte. The chai spices are somewhat subtle but tasty, with light sweetness. There are tea samples, but they were out of cups to sample during this recent busy visit. Miro Tea in Ballard is an outstanding shop for tea aficionados. They have a small menu of iced drinks available to order and a binder full of loose leaf teas that they sell by weight or if you want a full tea experience (cup, pitcher, kung fu tea size). Their tea selection is excellent and they also sell tea accoutrement like tea sets, cups, pots, etc. I do think prices are pretty high with the iced drinks running you just under 10 bucks, but vibes are excellent and they sell croissants from Maddy's Bakeshop, which are absolutely banging. Vibes are excellent, but only a few tables have power outlets if you're hoping to stay for a while. Crowds on Saturday are pretty manageable, but during the Ballard Farmer's Market on Sunday, it can get a bit crazy with lines out the door. read more

I got the seasonal kinako matcha with soy milk - the drink was pricey at over $10, but that's almost the standard nowadays. I was really blown away by the selection of teas that they have here. They have a book with their selection near the cashier for you to browse. I was overwhelmed with their options and had trouble picking one as so many sounded so delicious. There is truly a tea for everyone's taste buds. Upon entering they have some of their teas that they sell on display for you to sniff. They also have samples as well for people to try. Staff were very kind and the service was very quick considering how many people were in line. I tried one of their white teas and it was delicious. I'm not a tea connoisseur but you could really taste all of the flavors in the description of the tea. It was very light. I definitely want to come back to try other teas. So... ginger matcha latte anyone??? I came here by myself on a Saturday evening just an hour before they close, and walked into a strong tea smell, and a very calm and soothing cafe space where the tables and floors looked like they was made of hardwood floors, only in a much lighter wood color. They serve a ton of teas, chais and (matcha) lattes, and I decided to get something that one of my friends didn't have a high opinion on: the ginger matcha latte with oat milk. Nothing to say about service for my visit here, though. First sip of this and I was like, "Yes, the matcha is there and it's pretty strong." Then came the ginger part, and I was kind of surprised. Normally I'd expect matcha to be sweet or bitter, but never have any spice in it like for this drink. Despite all of that, I didn't quite mind it and actually thoroughly enjoyed it myself. It reminded me of longan ginger tea that I sometimes got back at what used to be Hard Wok Cafe over at Bellevue: sweet in the right sense but also randomly spicy while not being off-puttingly pungent. I also sometimes like to eat ginger upfront when I'm eating anything that could potentially upset my stomach, such as sushi. And I did eat some very spicy food that day. I did get a drink that was quite peculiar and things didn't quite fit together, but I'm more than satisfied with what I got and I can't wait to try their other drinks in another future visit with friends! read more

Truly a 10/10 matcha and insane that it's so readily available by the Ballard farmers market. For some reason I assume the shops around an "event" are just tourist traps but NOT the case here! Interior was so cute, great place to hang- though a little crowded on farmers market mornings. Matcha was delish. We first got the latte with one pump simple syrup. I think the full sweetness (2 pumps) hit the mark and they were super gracious about fixing that for me. Staff were awesome, very well informed and kind. The Old Mountain Black Tea with a splash of milk from Northern China Hands is hands down the best combination of tea and milk I have ever tasted. In addition, Miro offers a complimentary tea tasting bar, allowing guests to sample various teas before ordering. It's a fantastic feature! The only drawbacks are the limited seating capacity and the current closing time. Also, the staff are knowledgeable and recommend new tea experiences which create an unmatched vibe like anywhere else! Been meaning to try Miro Tea for a while now and finally got the chance to this past Thursday 7/18! My friend invited me come do a work sesh on our laptops, so we ended up coming here! Right off the bat, coming inside the aesthetics were very easy on the eyes, quite comforting and had lots of seating. The only complaint I had about the space was how cold it was inside despite it being a hot day. AC was BLASTING, felt like I needed to wear a sweater. Aside from the ambiance, customer service was quick and simple. I ordered their All Nighter which was a matcha-coffee drink. It was a good drink, but the coffee flavour did drown out the matcha taste quite a lot. Also, super aesthetic cup. And the kicker is that most people are on laptops with empty mugs that they probably bought hours ago. I really wanted to like miro tea, but I feel like they fell short out of the two occasions I visited. This tea shop is super popular in ballard, and I really love the aesthetic of it. It would make a really cute place to meet up for a chat, but maybe too loud to study. During my last visit, I ordered their rose ambrosia which is a seasonal drink ($7). It's said to be a sweetened organic matcha with rose jelly. The presentation is so pretty, but the matcha itself is not at all sweet, though the jelly is. In my first visit here I ordered their moon milk (blue drink pictured below) which is chamomile with blue pea flower and lavender tea. In theory, both drinks sound delicious but lacked flavor in my opinion. As my final thoughts I think the presentation of the drinks and cafe are way better than the drinks.
