My most recent visit to Miros was good as usual. They were unfortunately quite busy on a Monday morning/afternoon, which is also now typical and my only complaint really now as it impacts the ambiance. The service was great as always and I tried one of their new seasonal drinks. I think it was spelled Ban cha or similar and it was a great dairy free and non-caffeine option for me. I just wanted a warm, flavorful drink but maybe not a lot of caffeine and this was perfect!

What a gem of a place! The space is lovely, there are free hot tea samples in ceramic teacups (not your single use paper plastic crap) and enough matcha and seasonal options to come back again and again. Plenty of seating but seems to be packed rather quickly. I had the kinako matcha which was so lovely, I wish I lived in Ballard all the time.

I'd love to come back and try more of their drinks, but the matcha latte didn't stand out to me. We ordered the iced matcha latte with oatmilk, and when we asked about doing an iced ceremonial matcha, the cashier said she wouldn't recommend it. I liked how they offer teas to sample, and the variety of teas they carry. During my wait I was able to try the Jasmine green tea. The wait on a weekend noon was 20+ mins and all the seating was taken, but looked like there was a lot!

My iced ube was FANTASTIC. They have so many options of tea it is amazing. Service was great, the guy making it seemed really passionate and was getting to know the ppl coming in. Great vibes- some people were chatting around and others working on laptops

A tea lover's paradise! As an avid tea drinker, Miro Tea excels in creating an environment to casually sip tea and also peruse every new and classic tea that they offer. The staff are upbeat and helpful. I love the opportunity to A) sample selected teas of the day for free and B) pay to try their endless selection of teas before committing to buying them. I decided to get a kinako matcha, while my partner got a hojicha latte. Both were deep in flavor! The kinako powder's nuttiness enhanced the earthy matcha. Truly a beautiful and refreshing drink.

My favorite tea cafe in the Ballard neighborhood. Ordered Hojitcha latte to go w/ almond milk - it was delicious and had a strong high quality hojitcha flavor. No line on a rainy day, so service was quick. Hard to find a table indoors though (it was a full house), otherwise I would have ordered for here. They have cute ceramic mugs for those dining in and their pastries look delicious. Will need to come early next time to snag a table and enjoy my tea latte indoors. Def worth visiting again soon!

I loved the interior and the overall ambiance. The tea samples were so good as well. I tried the ceremonial matcha latte which was decent. It was a bit grainy, I would definitely come back to try a different tea. I also tried the baecha tea which was really nice and would definitely get or try and make when I am sick. It wasn't too sweet and tasted pretty gingery. For the place being pretty busy on a Saturday, we got our drinks quickly as well.

    Ginger matcha latte

So... ginger matcha latte anyone??? I came here by myself on a Saturday evening just an hour before they close, and walked into a strong tea smell, and a very calm and soothing cafe space where the tables and floors looked like they was made of hardwood floors, only in a much lighter wood color. They serve a ton of teas, chais and (matcha) lattes, and I decided to get something that one of my friends didn't have a high opinion on: the ginger matcha latte with oat milk. Nothing to say about service for my visit here, though. First sip of this and I was like, "Yes, the matcha is there and it's pretty strong." Then came the ginger part, and I was kind of surprised. Normally I'd expect matcha to be sweet or bitter, but never have any spice in it like for this drink. Despite all of that, I didn't quite mind it and actually thoroughly enjoyed it myself. It reminded me of longan ginger tea that I sometimes got back at what used to be Hard Wok Cafe over at Bellevue: sweet in the right sense but also randomly spicy while not being off-puttingly pungent. I also sometimes like to eat ginger upfront when I'm eating anything that could potentially upset my stomach, such as sushi. And I did eat some very spicy food that day. I did get a drink that was quite peculiar and things didn't quite fit together, but I'm more than satisfied with what I got and I can't wait to try their other drinks in another future visit with friends!

Truly a 10/10 matcha and insane that it's so readily available by the Ballard farmers market. For some reason I assume the shops around an "event" are just tourist traps but NOT the case here! Interior was so cute, great place to hang- though a little crowded on farmers market mornings. Matcha was delish. We first got the latte with one pump simple syrup. I think the full sweetness (2 pumps) hit the mark and they were super gracious about fixing that for me. Staff were awesome, very well informed and kind. Will be back even outside of visiting the farmers market! Edit- i want to include tips about parking in my reviews so because I went while the farmers market was up, I parked two streets down so I did have an 8 min walk back to the car just FYI!

Old mountain black tea with almond milk.
    Oris B.

The Old Mountain Black Tea with a splash of milk from Northern China Hands is hands down the best combination of tea and milk I have ever tasted. In addition, Miro offers a complimentary tea tasting bar, allowing guests to sample various teas before ordering. It's a fantastic feature! The only drawbacks are the limited seating capacity and the current closing time. Also, the staff are knowledgeable and recommend new tea experiences which create an unmatched vibe like anywhere else! I truly wish they would stay open longer, ideally until at least 10:00 PM.

    Renee S.

A great spot if you're into traditional tea! I tried the tea samples they had on display and they all tasted like the ones you get in Asia! The coconut cloud matcha I ordered also has a very strong matcha taste, and the foam on top was super airy with strong coconut flavors. This spot gets busy on the weekends so there may be very limited seating.

I've been coming here for decades so maybe I'm biased. This is a proper tea shop with a whole book of teas to choose from, creative drinks and food items, tea ware, free samples and places to sit both inside and out. The staff is helpful and kind, and the place has a natural woodsy vibe. My latest fave there is the Gf hummingbird cake by Sweet Violette. The carrot cake is great too.

Iced matcha lattes (too milky, don't recommend)
    Thaila N.

Really cute cafe in Ballard that has free tea tasting. They have posters saying that they were the first to start serving matcha in Seattle, but that certainly doesn't make them the best. The matcha lattes were way too milky, it straight up tasted like milk only. The worker even told us that he doesn't recommend we pay $2 more for the ceremonial matcha because we won't taste the difference since the drink is so milky LOL. I should've listened, but at least I can upload this PSA to y'all. Do not recommend getting a matcha latte here!

You really can't go wrong with any of the drinks but my all time favorites are the tieguanyin oolong milk tea with toppings and the strawberry milk tea, which I believe they have now rebranded to strawberry smoothie. Sugar is adjustable which is great because I love my drinks less sweet. I got the strawberry smoothie and bff milk tea this time, which I believe is black milk tea with egg pudding and grass jelly, and I added egg pudding. So delicious and creamy, and the smoothie does not give off an artificial fruit taste. One thing that was off-putting to me was the signage indicating their kiosk. The makeshift, handwritten message to turn around and use the kiosk seems passive aggressive and gives off the message that the workers do not want to talk to you. Other than that, we got our drinks pretty fast since it wasn't busy near closing, which was when I went.

There was a large selection of caffeine free herbal teas. The teas are all lined up on the counter allowing you to smell the sample jars. I decided on a cup of West Cape Chai and a slice of lemon cake (one of their many pastries). The chai is a nice and polite balance of sweet and spicy flavors. After ordering, I went to the lower level to find seating. It was upon entering this room that I was greeted by a sweet meow from a little cat. Her name is Miu Miu, and this is her house. She promptly followed me to my table and after testing me out, made herself comfortable in my lap. This series of events was so unexpected, yet so welcomed. As for the lower parlour itself - it also serves as a museum, giving history of this landmark. It has an authentic antique charm with comfortable furniture and decor that invites you in. This tea room doesn't try to be anything it's not, and that's what makes it so special. I lost track of the time I spent here enjoying my tea. The barista reminded me twice that I can get more hot water for my tea whenever I was ready, so I did, getting the most out of my loose leaf tea blend. There are only positive things to say. The bathroom was clean and spacious, the interior might surprise you in a good way, the prices were more than reasonable, and it's a place to find peace. I've wanted to come here for a long time, now that I've finally come in, I have a new favorite for my trips to Seattle.

As part of the Uwajimaya food court, it's easy to get in and get out or grab a drink for the road, plus there's validated parking. They also have sandwiches, soup, and donuts. I'd stick to just the drinks though. Plenty of other options in the food court. While I thought some drinks were good, I thought the overall experience was average. I ordered on at 5pm on a weekday and noticed the "Happy Hour Specials" so I decided to also snag a sandwich. Well, that advertisement was a lie. Their menu advertises 20% off for the combo of a sandwich and a drink while their digital screen shows 10% off with a soup (without the limited happy hour). In the end, I paid about $20 with tax and tip for a sandwich and a drink so they clearly did not honor the happy hour. It's not much at the end of the day, but false advertisement is a bad user experience. Overall, the service is very mediocre. Menu does not make it evident that sugar and ice levels can be adjusted and the employees cannot be bothered to ask. Same with any milk substitutions. Once you receive the drink, it's evident that sweetness can be adjusted at least, still unsure about the ice. Plus the experience with the combo showed apathy. Turkey Grilled Cheese Sandwich - I had ordered food before but saw the happy hour and went for a sandwich. My other food was ready quickly while this grilled cheese took close to 25 minutes. My drink was ready 10 minutes before so I was just left waiting. It's a solid sandwich with a strong amount of cheese but lacking in the protein. Not worth the price. Uhi Empress Milk Tea w/ Boba - first of all, boba is pretty solid. Flavorful with fair sugar coating and chewy, only lacking a bounce. Uhi is another purple yam like ube but originates from Hawaii. Flavor is very similar, so ube and taro enjoyers will appreciate this drink. Jardin Pink Milk Tea - as one of their signatures, I knew I had to try it. The flavor is a watered down lychee jelly and while lychee jelly as a topping tastes fine, this liquid form just tastes off. Not very sweet as a drink but also lacking flavor. More like water with mashed up lychee jelly without the texture. I would honestly never get this drink again, but the others were good. Banana Breeze Milk Tea - good old fashioned banana milk! If you've ever had the little cartons or banana milk tea from a spot like Boba Guys, this is very similar.
