Every time I'm in Seattle and spend time down in Capitol Hill, I always walk by this place and this weekend I finally had a chance to try it. You order on a big screen at the front (there are two) and just wait for your number to be called. I got the mango pineapple jasmine tea with bubbles, half sweet and it was pretty standard. There are seats inside (booth) and also stool seating by the window if you want to hang out and enjoy your tea there! read more

COMEBUYTEA is a known brand in Taiwan but not necessarily regarded as the best. That being said, the high quality is consistent with expansion in the states. It's strange that this Seattle location has a spin-off website from the California location. The menu is also more extensive, so there are differences. Drinks were also on the sweeter side. Either that or they're not great at adjusting sugar levels. Holding some reservations because of this. COMEBUYTEA holistically is better than the other highly regarded chain on the Eastside. More volume at lower prices with similar quality. I'd come here more often but go to the other spot for special occasions. The interior is nice and clean but the seats are tighter. There is a restroom with a passcode. Decent location around good food options in Cap Hill. COMEBUYTEA Milk Tea w/ Boba - 30% sugar tasted more like a 70% sweetness. As their signature, I believe it's a black tea base but the tea was light, competing with the frothy milk and sugar. Boba had a fair flavor in addition to holding a normal chew. Could be bouncier but very solid for a spot that specializes in tea and ironically, outdid the tea for me. Neptune Milk Tea w/ Boba - the Neptune is a green tea that gets additional flavor and aroma from preserved fruits. Without knowing, it's not too obvious but a few taste tests will reveal the floral green tea alongside elements of fruit flavor. I ordered the Comeback Milk Tea (top #1) with 30% sugar and 50% ice. The interior of the shop was modern and I liked seeing the teas on display along with the brewing machines. The wait was pretty short (less than 5 minutes) and the employees were nice! The drink itself was just okay (8/10). The tea flavor was very mild and even at 30% sugar, the drink was pretty sweet. The boba was a bit tougher than I like and a little difficult to suck up. While I normally like konjac jelly, this one was a little odd- shaped like boba but there was also slivers of it. Parking in the area can be a little difficult. I don't think I would go out of my way to return here but I would want to try the oolong milk tea if I was nearby. read more

The way they brew tea is very unique and the steam that comes out always reminds me of instant pot! They only take orders from the machine and the line can get pretty long. When it gets busy the 4 steam machines will start brewing non stop and it can get pretty loud so I would avoid if you are looking for a more quiet spot. The tea and service here is absolutely excellent. My only gripe is having to deal with homeless, trash and graffiti all over the front entrance which is kind of out of their control. read more

I really liked the interior decor t's modern and classy. The seating is also quite comfortable and makes it a suitable spot for working from a cafe. They have a self-service kiosk for ordering, which is convenient, but I can see long wait times being an issue if the people ahead take a while. When I arrived, both kiosks were in use, and I ended up waiting at least 10 minutes just to place my order. I chose one of their top five picks: the Hong Kong Milk Tea with 50% sugar, less ice, cream, and boba. Service was a bit slow; it took around 10 minutes to receive my drink. The boba itself was good chewy with a nice texture but the tea tasted quite diluted and light. The cream added extra sweetness, and in hindsight, I wish I had gone with 25% sugar or had more customization options. Overall, it didn't live up to the hype for me. I haven't been to cap hill in a while and I was excited to see this boba shop had finally opened! Came in around 9:30 on a Saturday. The place had quite a few people sitting there, and I was really surprised how cute and comfortable it was! You could also smell the tea and brown sugar, and the decor of tea leaves boded well for quality. I ordered a brown sugar fresh milk on a tablet. The taro swirl smoothie(?) and kefir drinks with basil seeds also looked intriguing though. My drink came out quickly. The shop also had a sample of Neptune green tea to try which was mild and lightly sweetened, and it tasted great. My drink also was delicious. Brown sugar and fresh milk were in a good ratio, and the boba was well cooked. Tried some of my other friend's drinks and we all enjoyed everything we tried. I don't write a lot of review updates unless there's a huge difference in the drink or food I receive on subsequent visits. I revisited ComeBuy Tea recently and unfortunately what I received that day certainly met the criteria for an update. Top 5 Hong Kong Style Milk Tea + Bubble + Creamccino, 50% Ice, * Sugar ($6.55) - This drink is an absolute disaster. I ordered it with 50% sugar originally, and while I know ComeBuy Tea is normally on the sweeter side, this drink was so cloyingly sweet that it covered up any semblance of flavor other than the sugar. I swear it was equivalent to something like 200% or even 300% sweet at any other boba shop. Normally I can live with a drink that's slightly too sweet for me, but this one was so unbearable, I had to ask them to remake the drink. This is not something I can ever remember doing in the past. At 0% sweet, there's only a very slight sweetness from the boba that has been mildly soaking in a sugar mixture. Unfortunately there is still no tea taste, being entirely covered up the milkiness. I can't see how this drink can ever be considered a HK Style milk tea when it neither has a caffeine bitterness, tea taste, nor mild condensed milk flavor. The creamccino is entirely too powerful and completely overwhelms everything else. I actually went home, over-brewed a strong cup of black tea through an espresso machine, added it in, and could still barely taste the tea. This drink is simply not balanced. To add insult to injury, the boba was also not anywhere near the cook quality of my prior visits. Both barely sweet and very hard, like it was rushed through the boiling process and soak. Milk Tea Rating: 2/5 Boba Rating: 3/5 I have a feeling that I simply visited at the wrong time. My visit was during the after lunch rush, and there were a ton of orders going through the queue. I think this might have made them rush the drinks. I'm going to be honest: if this had been my first experience with ComeBuy Tea, my rating would likely have been either a 2 or 3. They have enough goodwill from me that it still remains a 5, but my impressions have soured a little on this boba shop. So just some notes for myself for future visits: never order the creamccino again. Only order 30% sweet at max. Do not visit during the after lunch rush - only go when the store is not busy. I did notice something interesting on this visit. On the trash/recycling area, the signs don't make any sense. The sign that says "GENERL WASTE" (yes, it's spelled wrong) shows the recycling symbol. You order what you want at several kiosks at the front, where there's also a ton of tea leaves stored behind glass and some of the tea being brewed. It's very noisy in here, and on cold days your glasses can fog up really bad when you step inside. I got the osmanthus oolong tea, which came with boba and konjac jelly. Whole drink tasted really good, and I have no complaints about it. It does better in taste than other boba places I know of, so I'm down to come here again to have some of their stuff. Unfortunately those are the +s I can say about the place. What're the -s about this place? 1) Taste: the mango oolong tea with konjac jelly (top 3 of their menu) tasted absolutely disgusting. It's extremely sweet and the artificial mango flavored sweetener just overpowered the oolong taste. I cannot taste a bit of oolong. 2) Price: after tax, this is ~$8. Yet, it tasted as cheap as a $0.80 artificially flavored water 3) Inside is nicely decorated, decent seating areas. However, the steam hissing sound constantly coming off of their tea brewing machine is so loud that you can barely converse without yelling in each other's face. Boba could be 5 stars, but the time it took for the drinks to come out was just too long, especially when it wasn't busy on a Wednesday afternoon and there are 5 employees working. I'm not sure if they took a long time to start because they were waiting for something to finish, but if that was the case, I would have appreciated that they communicated that to us. In my experience, most boba shops would let you know right when you're about to order that they're out of boba and that it could take longer to finish a new batch. Anyways, the drinks were good and I would say I'm glad I waited in the end. I got the Osmanthus oolong tea latte and a brown sugar boba milk tea, and both drinks were excellent. I could really taste the roasted tea flavor in the oolong tea and the brown sugar had a deep flavor without being too sweet in the latter. Drink consistency wasn't too thick.
