I chose the Hong Kong milk tea with boba and creamccino. The tea was made with a special steam machine right in front of you. The taste of the tea is milder than I would like. The creamccino was the best part to me, tasting very fluffy with milky sweetness and saltiness. The boba I thought could be improved, since it was clumpy and hard to slurp up. Just had a big dinner and saw this place, which had been on my list, on our way to grab dessert. Even though I was full and didn't want to stuff myself anymore, I had to grab a bubble tea for later. I got the Grapefruit Oolong Tea to save for the next day, and my bf got the Taro Swirl. He drank his that night, and said it was really good. I drank mine the next day, and it was still really tasty. I realized my choice was also foolish since this did not involve freshly brewed tea or boba pearls. Very frenetic, high energy spot watching the crew working through a high volume of beverage orders, which were sealed, and handed with a sling or plastic bag based on number of drinks picked up. You order through a screen so it's pretty low need for interaction besides when they call out your order. I got the bubble milk tea, half sugar, half ice. This is my third time here and this is my second time ordering classic boba topping. I remember I really enjoyed the drink the first time I got it but this time the boba was just distinctly mushy. The actual drink tasted great tho, maybe it was just an off day for the boba. Today was a 3 for the drink, but last time would've been a 4/5. I've been meaning to stop by ComeBuyTEA since they opened, and they did not disappoint! I love the location in cap hill (right across from QFC), but the conveniency makes it too tempting. When I walked in, my friend and I were greeted right away and given menus! I ended up getting the Hong Kong Milk Tea ($7.40) and I loved how cream and boba were included. The size was very decent and the tea flavor was definitely strong. I love how every cup is made with freshly brewed tea, so the quality is really there. I want to try the Taro boba next time after hearing good things from my friend! Inside, the store has some cute cushiony booth seating as well as stool-counter seating. I think you could definitely come to study, but maybe bring headphones. It was quite busy and loud when I went, and there's a constant sound of steam releasing. I was pleasantly surprised by the decor of this shop, as it was sleek and modern, with cushion-y seating perfect for cafe working and stools facing outside. They use innovative tea machines to brew their tea, which is supposed to extract the flavor of the tea in a special way. I ordered their #1 most popular item, the classic milk tea with boba and konjac. Konjac is a unique topping option that isn't regularly offered in many boba shops. It's chewy and not too sweet, and a good low calorie switch if that's something you want to be aware of. I adjusted the sugar levels to 30%, which was perfect for me. The default is non dairy milk creamer powder, but you can also substitute oat milk for $1. The tea itself was nothing mind blowing, so I can't give it a 5/5, but I have no complaints either. They have free wifi there as well as a clean single stall bathroom. You can order on tablets or with the staff, who are all very kind and helpful. The only thing is that there aren't any outlets at the center tables, so working for an extended period might be difficult since plugging your computer into the walls would be a bit of a tripping hazard. I went here for their grand opening and was one of the first 100 customers which meant I got to redeem a free drink that's in their top 5 best sellers. I personally got the #1 which is the COMEBUYTEA Milk Tea with bubbles and konjac jelly with less ice and 50% sugar. I really like how they make each drink to order, but the downside in this scenario is the wait can be really long. I was the 37th person in line and it took 40 minutes to get the drink, but it was well worth it, for the price versus quality. Normally the drink costs $5.95 so it is around average price in the area, but the tea is very high quality. I also really love the boba texture here as it is very chewy, and the konjac jelly gives an additional depth in texture. I normally don't get konjac jelly on top of boba but it was included in the price, and it was a good experience. I am pretty impressed by how smooth they operate this place, which is rare for a place that is grand opening. I will return to try some more of their top 5 drinks when the hype subsides. read more
