The matcha latte and chai latte I tried on a recent visit were both great. You can choose between three matcha options for a latte. The chai spices are somewhat subtle but tasty, with light sweetness. There are tea samples, but they were out of cups to sample during this recent busy visit. The inside is bright and inviting, filled with plants and a moss wall. There is also a lovely little outdoor seating area with a few tables.

I ordered through the qr code site and they asked me to come to the front and tell them what sweetness I wanted. They said default is 70%, if you like things unsweetened go for 20% (is that not still sweetened?). I said I don't like my drinks sweet just sweet enough to be balanced and they recommended 60%. I got a thai tea and jasmine milk tea to try and oh man both were waaaay too sweet and tasted like these were powder drinks with super chalky overly vanilla flavor. If you like things sweet I would say 60% is good but would probably do 20-30% myself if I ever came back. But did not find the drinks good enough to really come back. The jasmine tea as well had very little in the way of jasmine flavor as the powdery vanilla sweetness and milk was most of what you tasted with a non-descript floral note going on.

So many cute decorative details, and I appreciated that there is a separate shop where you can buy from their menu. I loved my tea-the wild cherry and coconut black teas were my favorites. And I would say the afternoon tea platter had a great variety that was consistently tasty. I do wish there was more protein (especially for the price), but I suppose it's supposed to lean more towards crudité than a heavy meal. I'd recommend making reservations ahead of time for weekend afternoon tea bc the tea room is quite small and walk ins are limited! The tea room is definitely decorated and they have a large tea selection! Unfortunately the food for afternoon tea was just okay? It's $75 per adult and $36 per child for weekend afternoon tea though, so while I wouldn't necessarily say it's worth it.. I think it's fine for rare or special occasions and for the overall experience with the cute tea sets. We all had a good time and my daughter really enjoyed it!

Every single time I have visited Seattle Best Tea, the staff has been incredibly warm and welcoming. However it had been a while since I've visited since boba everywhere costs closer to $10 these days. But I got a chance to visit recently, and lo and behold a cup of milk tea with egg pudding: $6.50 plus tax! And milk tea is still fantastic, with strong tea flavor, even if you skimp on the sugar (at least as low as 30%). I also splurged for some ice cream recently, and despite feeling like a random addition, is actually incredibly soft and creamy. The pistachio has real nuts in there and is full of pistachio flavor without any artificial taste. The strawberry ice cream? My goodness, don't you always wish that strawberry ice cream had more strawberry flavor? Even at Molly Moon's, don't you feel like the strawberry is just not punchy enough? Not the case at Seattle Best Tea, that strawberry ice cream will hit you in the face and send you into a state of strawberry bliss. this place is solid. i have good memories of it. this is the first place i ever got boba when i…read moremoved to seattle 9 years ago, and i go back occasionally every few years or so. i just want to leave a review specifically for the little stand they had at the recent u district street fair. after a long 1.5 hours there, i was on my way back to my car, and i saw the booth with no line this time that i passed. they had all my fav flavors, including oolong. i was so tired but i was like, ok, i bought my son some things that he wanted, i should just get something nice for myself, too. my son (3 y/o) protested bc he just wanted to go home. at first, i gave in and said yeah, i already spent too much money at this festival. but after i walked away, i thought, no, i'm tired and hot and i worked hard and i came all this way--i should get boba if i want it!! so i came back to the stand and said, "can i have an oolong tea?" and the very nice person at the stand looked me straight and steady in the eyes and said, "yes." she was very supportive and insistent that i have the tea for myself even if my 3 y/o insisted on just wanting to go home. it was arguably a small gesture, but it felt really good to have someone so confident and encouraging that i should do this nice, fun thing for myself. i drank the boba on the way home as my son fell asleep thank you!!!
