They were so kind and made it feel like we were pals. The tea was rich and I was pleasantly surprised by the fact that they made everything dairy free (my tummy likes to play roulette whether I'll get an upset tummy or not when drinking dairy) and the drinks were HUGE! 24oz was their "small" and was more than enough for me to enjoy both the night I got it and the next day. Seattle-Area Boba Shop Review #111 Tab Milktea is an interesting boba shop located in a shared commissary. The entrance is located on SW Snoqualmie St. The exterior door leads to a small vestibule, where a wall of wireless doorbells greets the customer, each for one of the businesses in the building. The owner of Tab is highly responsive, coming out within seconds of the bell, and is super friendly. All milk teas are made with Lactose-free milk! Yes! Classic Milk Tea, Small 24oz, 35% Sweet, Less Ice w/ Boba ($10.35) - Very interesting flavor with this milk tea, clearly with SE Asian influences. It's somewhat malty, but the strongest flavor by far is that of vanilla, with a tiny bit of almond-like nuttiness. Kind of like a variation of a strong Thai Tea, but less smoky. It's certainly not what I was expecting, but is very pleasant to sip on and is extremely fragrant. The body on this drink is phenomenal. It's so viscous and luscious, it coats the entire mouth with a creamy film. Less ice is perfect for this drink - since they use crushed ice, it doesn't take up too much room so they can maximize the amount of drink in the cup. At 35% sweet, which is what the owner recommended for people who don't like drinks too sweet (I usually order 50% at most shops), the drink is on the sweeter end on what's tolerable. My guess is the boba I added contributes a lot to sweetness, and the amount of extra fat in the drink enhances the transfer of sugar to the tongue. I'd probably go with 25% or less in the future. The boba is fine - I probably wouldn't get it in the future. The pearls are sweetened, but are a little on the tough side, too firm for my liking. $1 per topping is quite high as well and in my opinion for the quality is definitely not worth the price. Milk Tea Rating: 4.5/5 Boba Rating: 3.5/5 $10.35 before tax is by far the most I've every paid for boba. Is it worth the price? That's debatable. I'd say Tab Milktea does use high quality ingredients, has clean and interesting flavors, and has an owner who's a blast to be around. I understand their pricing is higher most likely lower volumes. It's a small business worth supporting, but isn't a place I'd go to regularly simply due to pricing. It's really difficult for me to justify a drink that's 50% more expensive than other high quality (but not top quality) boba shops. Not to mention that there are places around with similar high quality (e.g. high quality tea leaves, no powder, no syrups, premium ingredients) that are more affordable but unfortunately aren't small businesses. read more

I enjoyed my candy milk tea with boba, but my partner was not a fan of his fresh milk brown sugar boba, as he felt it didn't taste like it had much more than milk and boba in it, which I think was all it was supposed to be. I thought his was ok, but probably wouldn't order it myself as I like tea and I think he just misunderstood the menu. The server was very kind though and checked in with us and brought the order out. It's a to-go only spot for multiple restaurants so there's not really a place to sit - kinda like the UberEats pick up stations. The tea was alright, seemed freshly brewed but have had better, but for the amount you get, it's not worth $7. This black milk tea bottle was honestly what seemed like 8 oz as you finish it in six sips or four gulps. The bottle is around the size of my hand. Tapioca was also alright. Also, for the menu to order up front, the ounce size of the bottle is blacked out while the other sizes aren't, so I think transparency would be needed to improve guest experience. This is a hidden gem located in West Seattle. I love that they are open late. TAB is located in a building with other to go places and you press a button to order. The owner comes out and is so friendly and helpful. She told us that the grass jelly is also homemade :) We ordered the brown sugar milk tea as well as the Thai red tea. Both tasted so fresh and truly delicious (definitely no powder here). I would recommend getting the size above the smallest size since the smallest size is a little too small. Finally, a respectable milk tea place in west Seattle. Oh sure, there's Sharetea but that's a chain but the quality varies so much. Tab Milktea on the other hand seems to get it right each time. I ordered a Jasmin Milk Tea and Peach Milk Tea both with boba. My goodness, the tea was very fragrant. The peach tasted like real peach. The boba was cooked just right and had flavor to it. I say that because a lot of boba places do not cook their boba long enough and it just comes out bland. They're a new boba shop located in a commissary kitchen so don't be alarmed if it's a nondescript building. I'm sure they're trying to build up a base and get their own brick and mortar shop given how crazy rent is. And yes, their boba prices are a bit higher for West Seattle (they have downtown prices) but again, business is hard these days! I arrived at the kitchen and ordered two bottles on a Sunday afternoon - classic milk tea and Thai red milk tea. Both were good and they were freshly made when ordered. The lady was friendly. She asked about my preference (sugar and ice level) and quickly made my drinks. When I was leaving, the lady was servicing two other customers who were asking questions about the drinks.
