Pretty standard milk tea and drink place, but happy that I don't have to go far to get something sweet. This particular location shares parking in a plaza that it shares with other surrounding businesses like Ding Feng and Q Bakery... and as I've said many times already, careful of how you park there! Looking past that, this place feels like all other Happy Lemons in the Seattle/Bellevue areas, with a great amount of seating and some parts of the walls and logo that are in yellow, making for a brighter-looking atmosphere. There is some inconsistencies I've had in the past with service here, mostly with just the servers not always being as attentive or even mishearing the sugar, ice or milk adjustments I usually make on my orders. Happy to say I didn't have that issue in this visit! I got my default, which is the strawberry jasmine green tea with rock salt crema. Delicious as always especially on hot weather like we've been having, and the rock salt crema always makes the drink a lot better with its saltiness that just knows how to complement the jasmine tea. Besides this drink, I've gotten their avocado smoothie - it's very, very filling - and their taro milk tea - it tastes very artificial, so highly not recommended to get. There are other better places I prefer over here for milk tea, but I usually go here and pair my Q Bakery banh mi with a drink from here, so I'm pretty sure I'm gonna keep coming back regardless. read more

They have caffine free options clearly marked and a good selection of them which is great for my kids. I like the option of adding different percentages of ice and sugar so it doesn't have to be too sweet or too much ice. They are in a strip mall with a large parking lot. so parking is easy to find. Extremely disappointing and frustrating experience at this Seattle Happy Lemon location. I visited specifically to redeem the Mother's Day promotion advertised in the Happy Lemon app: two drinks and one original waffle for $17. When I showed the promotion to the cashier, I was told they had never heard of it and refused to honor the offer. This is completely unacceptable. If Happy Lemon is going to advertise promotions through its official app, all store locations should be properly informed and required to honor them. Customers should not have to be there one to tell the employees or be turned away because they are unaware of company promotions. I made a special trip to this location expecting to enjoy a Mother's Day treat, only to leave feeling disappointed and frustrated. On a day meant to celebrate mothers, this experience did the exact opposite. Happy Lemon needs to do a much better job communicating promotions to its stores and ensuring customers can trust the offers advertised in the app. I would hesitate to return to this location. read more

I got a hot boba for the first time ever and it doesn't taste so bad. I realized getting a hot drink makes the Tapioca more chewy. I'd recommend the Jasmine Green Tea. Unless you prefer a more sugary drink then get the brown sugar boba. As for the waffle, it should be both crispy and chewy at the same time. Been going here enough now it feels like time for an update. Pros: clean, quick service, easy payment, large menu, lots of seating, easy parking. Cons: staff is not friendly. I didn't see a smile on any one of them at any point and I was there for a couple hours. Details: they've expanded the menu with mochi donuts! It looks like they're bringing them in from another business, and you have to use a separate transaction to pay for them (if you order drinks and donuts they'll ring you up separately). I didn't try them, but the Oreo and coffee ones were gobbled up pretty quickly. They're very visually appealing! They also added new cream flavors for the waffle dips. The tiramisu cheese one was a nice mature option--less sweet and a little salty. We picked this up to dip the coffee mochi donut in. Oreo cream was also really nice with the plain bubble waffle. You still cannot go wrong with the original cream, though. It's delicious and we always have enough leftover for toast or cookies or scooped out and eaten on its own! I feel like the menu is really broken down nicely here in a way I don't always see at boba joints. They explain how to build your drink and give you a lot of customization options, like even how much ice you want. Honestly, all I wanted was a black milk tea with boba and it wasn't the best, but it was good. I like the convenience of using their app and ordering without standing in line. And I appreciate the option of almond milk since I'm a no-lactose kinda person. However, I watched as my drink was made and just sort of shoved to the side behind the counter as other people got served. I tried to be patient and the finally had to get someone's attention and say, "I think that's my drink". I know they get busy and are very popular, but not sure if they have a good system of actually getting giving you your order once they've made it. It seemed a little chaotic. I am obsessed with their A7 drink which is the milk tea with boba, pudding and lychee. I get it with regular sugar and regular ice and it is just perfect . I love how the three toppings go so well together . The bubble waffle is really light and airy ! Love that they offer some dipping sauce with it but I feel like it's good on its own . Our second favorite drink is the brown sugar with milk. It's a little on the sweet side so I probably would get less sugar next time . Good bubble tea place that just opened up, first time trying Happy Lemon. I got the mango jasmine green tea with tapioca. I really liked the tea, both the mango and jasmine green tea flavors came through well. The boba was just standard- could have added more boba! The wait wasn't too long (only 2 orders ahead of us) however the music was pretty loud and I'm not sure if they call your order number so we waited longer not know if our drink was ready or not. Service was just okay, since it's a new location I'm guessing staff are still getting used to the menu offering and cashier system. Let me start by saying that we usually love this place, but today was an exception that means we're not coming back. This location would now be 0 stars. We got 2 drinks and I told you the milk was spoiled in the Brown Sugar Fresh Milk drink. At first you didn't believe me, then when your coworker also said it was spoiled, you remade our drinks with a new bottle of milk. By then I also tasted the salted cheese that came with my Oreo waffle and it was not right either. I told you that I think maybe your fridge is bad -- you told me your back fridge broke and you moved all your stuff to the front fridges. Then we got our new drinks, the milk still sour. You didn't offer us a refund, you instead focused on continuing to fill new customer orders. That was not okay. The moment you realized your ingredients were spoiled, you should have stopped serving your customers products that contained your milk or anything else at risk from your fridge breaking down. I think some of your customers may get seriously sick if they bought drinks with dairy milk in them today. We also know many other non-dairy milks have strict temperature requirements and they too can cause illness if stored inappropriately. Fridges breaking happens to everyone, but the decision the team made when alerted to the issue is what makes me think I'd better not come here again. read more

On my most recent visit, I had money taken from me by the cashier without explanation. I ordered two drinks and a bubble waffle which came to a total of $22.88 after tax. I gave the cashier $25 in cash. She gave me $2 instead of $2.12 and stares at me to move on. At this point, there was a line outside the door behind me so I felt uncomfortable confronting the cashier over the ¢12. Overall, don't pay in cash because you will not get your exact change back! To me, I'm frustrated that there was no signage or communication from the cashier that the cash register does not have coins. I would've preferred having a choice to be ok with it. If she told me that they didn't have coins for change, I would've switched to card. Also, who supplements the missing money at the end of the day? Is it taken from employees? I can only imagine how sloppy their book keeping is under this practice. This particular location has given me many negative experiences with long waits, lack of air conditioning during hot weather, and unwelcoming staff. Please find other boba places to support. Is your standard Happy Lemon chain but this location is okay. Trying to get to the location is a pain and usually requires a U-turn if coming from MLK because of the light rail. The drinks themselves come out fairly quickly and I always recommend milk teas from here. The lemonade is very very sweet. I have a sweet tooth but it was even a lot for me. If you're not a fan of really sweet tea, I recommend adjusting the sweetness level. The inside is very spacious and has plenty of seating. You'll see a lot of students hanging out here after school. It does echo quite a bit and can get a bit loud especially with the blenders going and multiple conversations. Service is iffy, staff sometimes seem annoyed when they take orders or have to answer questions. Because of that, it's probably best to take a look at the menu beforehand. 3/5 read more

Nice place! I'm lowkey glad it replaced the other boba shop that was here originally as I like Happy Lemon better. The bubble waffle was chewy and really good with the cream dip. Expensive for what you get though, because the waffle is $5.50 and the specific cream I got was $1.25. I don't think the waffle is big enough to justify the price, but guess they can price it that way if people are still buying! The lemon jasmine green tea drink my boyfriend got was at 100% sugar which was quite needed as it was perfect and not too sour that way. Upon drinking you get the lemon flavor and once that disappears, the green tea flavor shines through. Super refreshing drink. No wonder they're called "Happy Lemon"! I got the strawberry shortcake smoothie at light sugar/30% sugar which was good but I think 50% would've been like a dessert drink for sure. I can't imagine that one at 100%. It tasted like melted strawberry ice cream honestly, and the cream they put inside truly makes it like a strawberry shortcake (or at least whipped cream with strawberry ice cream). It was pretty one dimensional in flavor but a cute drink. Next time I think I'd like to try their ube drinks In total, I believe spent about $24 for everything after tax but before tip. In terms of the actual location, it was very busy on New Year's Day with a line that went almost out the door. A new thing I saw was they have this machine that will say the order number loudly through the speakers. My boyfriend said it sounded like the airport which he didn't seem to like for some reason lol. I thought it was a good way to notify customers of their orders but yeah there was a lot of noise in the shop in general. I also wish the tables were a little cleaner but given how busy they were, it was understandable. When ordering, the guy who took my order was very friendly and affirmed every choice we made by saying basically "hell yeah good choice" but in different words every time. Wow...I rarely ever find a 5 star boba spot. I've had other happy lemon locations, but I was really happy with my order today. I came during their soft opening. Got their fresh grapefruit jasmine green tea with crystal boba, light ice, 50% sugar. It was perfect for me! I don't like super sweet drinks, it was the perfect level, flavor of tea was there, that slight citrus grapefruit flavor was there too, and just the right level of sugar. I decided to try their matcha bubble waffle with their puff cream.....this was the best bubble waffle I've ever had. The bubble part was soft, and the pressed parts were crispy!! I was surprised and very impressed, I never order toppings, but I got their puff cream because the cashier recommended it. I'm happy I got it because it was perfect with the bubble waffle. The puff cream was like a whipped cream with salted butter. The salted whipped butter paired perfectly with the sweet matcha waffle! Anyways it was a great little snack for me, I'm definitely coming back and I'm excited to have this place really close to my home! Also I need to compliment how friendly and helpful the staff were as well. They are doing a SOFT opening. So that means theyre practicing and training up staff, expect waits, and other things. Yay! So happy another boba spot opened up in the south end. I'm Happy (Lemon) to try this new spot given I had bad experiences in the previous business, ChaTime -- for some reason they never had the drink I wanted. So for Happy Lemon to take over, I think it will be good to bring business into this neighborhood. I came here during the soft opening to give it a try and I will say I was not disappointed. Mind you during the soft opening they are training their staff and preparing for the official store launch so customer patience is needed, which is totally understandable. During my visit there was only two people ahead of me, and my wait was not long. The guy who took my order, whom I assume is the store manager/owner, was very kind and appreciative of the customers' wait time given staff was in training. I ended up getting my drink for free which was nice of them to offer that. I got a classic boba milk tea with less sugar and normal ice and it was the perfect balance and volume of both the drink and topping. They allow you to adjust you ice and sugar level so that's a plus! The inside is very spacious and clean and seems like a great place to just hang out, read or study. I do enjoy this location because I also shop/eat at the nearby local businesses as well which I do recommend folks go explore and support. First time trying Happy Lemon for a bubble tea. I ordered through their app of a Taro Milk Tea with 30% ice and 50% sugar and added boba and puff cream. Let me tell you, it was so delicious! Just the right amount of sweetness for the tea and the addition of the puff cream gave it a nice sweet flavor like a tasty milkshake. I didn't get a bubble waffle this visit, but I might try one eventually. I just had a bubble tea craving and this definitely hit the spot. My husband only had to wait about 5 minutes in this very clean and cute little shop for drink to be ready once I had ordered because he was out for a walk. I will definitely be ordering again. If you haven't tried them, you definitely should. Staff was friendly and fast with making the drink, but it was mid-afternoon being 2pm on a Thursday. So happy that Happy Lemon opened up here! Everything that I've tried at this location has had the same quality that I've come to expect from the chain, but now, it's so much closer to home. My favorites: * Lemon black tea at 30% sweetness and with less ice. There's a reason that they're called "Happy Lemon". The amount of lemon in this drink is the perfect level of acidity for the tea. I also appreciate that the ice level can be adjusted to avoid watering down the tea, since it's not brewed very strongly. * Strawberry shortcake smoothie at 30% sweetness. This is my go-to order if it's too late for caffeine. It's basically dessert. My best description would be a swirl of strawberry milkshake and sweet biscuit batter. * Chocolate bubble waffle. So I don't love chocolate as much as the average person, but there's something about this that I can't get enough of. The original flavor has a very strong vanilla aroma/flavor that I personally find overwhelming (maybe because the whole store also smells like it). Chocolate mutes the vanilla just enough to still enjoy the aroma without being turned off by it. I love it so much that I don't need any of the dipping sauces that they advertise. Grabbed a milk tea boba (50% ice / 50% sweetness) and I have to admit this is probably one of the best milk teas I've gotten from any of the HP chains. Mom got the ube fresh milk hot and said it was good (and that the 50% sweetness) but too sweet. Inside is super clean and spacious, not cramped like the Bellevue / Tukwila locations. First off, the drinks are so overpriced. $8 for a drink is unheard of. I once forgot my card and decided to pay cash, they told me they didn't have any coins. I had around 87 cents in change and I didn't get any of it back. I asked if I could get a dollar which is reasonable considering it's only 13 cents away. Without hesitation they said no. I asked for a refund and again they said no. They didn't even make the drink yet. To add on, the staff is very unwelcoming and they seem really annoyed to be there. This review is for service only and not the drink. I came here randomly cause I saw it was their soft opening. Clearly they were not ready for the demand because of the 4 staff working there were overwhelmed. Customers were waiting and also questioning their order whether or not it was correct. One staff was trying to get 2 out of the 3 menu screens to work but should have been helping out their other staff because they were overwhelmed. They had one screen working and the paper menu at the counter so wasn't a big deal to just wait and see. Fed up, I left cause I was running out of time and everyone else looked like they had to wait a while. That being said, I'll come back again another time and update my review once I do getting something to drink. ***Follow up review after my wife decided to stop by and get something. She got the F1 on the memo which was the mango green tea with boba. It was pretty good but I could still tell that service with 6+ employees was not as organized and the cashier was struggling to get orders through. We ordered the original flavor and an Oreo one. They were yummy! This Happy Lemon is located in a strip mall on Martin Luther King Jr. Way S. There's lots of parking available. The strip mall itself is not very nice. There aren't many businesses that are open now. The supermarket has long closed. I would definitely come back for the bubble waffles. read more

Before we moved back to Seattle, we researched places we wanted to try once we got here. Happy Lemon was one of those places. We made our way the first week and were instantly hooked on their drinks and bubble waffles. We go at least once a week! The mall they are in is in poor shape (I hope they are getting cheap rent)... they are the only appealing thing to see (at least from the outside), and I know several places are closed. They were all pretty good, my favorite is the classic, which is essentially like a vanilla bubble waffle. My most recent trip to this happy lemon I had some issues. I went later at night, not too busy. I ordered 2 waffles, one classic one half and half (classic and oreo) and a smoothie. We got the Strawberry shortcake smoothie with rock salt crema... so good!! I got into the car and noticed that my half and half waffle was wrong. So I went back in and let them know. They almost remade it wrong again, but I was watching him pour batters and I corrected him. He was very polite and let me even keep the wrong order one. Happy lemon has great customer service, no matter how busy they are! They treat all customers with respect.
