I've been here twice now and it's the perfect spot for a celebration among tea enthusiasts. The decor changes seasonally so it's a great place to be year round. There are many tea options and the pot you get is quite big! There were many tasty bites and I actually wasn't able to finish it all! I loved the variety. They're also very kind and attentive, making sure we have everything we need.

Going to tea is a nice, whimsical and girly experience and this place in Seattle provides that. The food was delicious (the soup shot, sausage roll, and tea sandwiches) and we enjoyed the tea options (I got a black currant tea). That being said, they are overdue for a renovation and thorough cleaning (or ripping out the carpet and replacing with more updated surfaces that appear clean to the naked eye). It's not a cheap experience and I've been here a couple of times with no changes to their space. At some point it's going to be very obviously a rip off and we'll just pack our tea baskets and go for a picnic.

Came to usher 2025 out with the ladies in my family. They were all impressed with how cute this tea room was. I liked the Christmas colored sugar and the tea timer. Haven't seen that before and I go to a lot of tea rooms. I wasn't crazy about the chicken salad or cucumber sandwiches. Glad we visited but food is the most importantly thing to me, so I don't know if I'll be back, but it was a lovely afternoon with my family.

The Queen Mary Tea Room offers a unique afternoon tea experience where time seems to stand still. The decor is a delightful mix of whimsical and classic British style. Guests can sometimes be seen wearing tiaras and fascinators to celebrate special occasions. The space is small, cozy, and perfect for smalls parties. This is a very popular spot and I highly recommend reservations. I've visited this tea room numerous times and have tried items from the brunch menu, afternoon, and royal high tea. The royal high tea is the just the afternoon high tea with an added glass of bubbles, which I recommend for the additional $12. The afternoon tea experience includes a 3 tier tower of pastries, sandwiches, soup, and fresh fruit. The pastries include scones with chantilly cream, zucchini bread, white chocolate walnut brownies, and pork sausage rolls. For sandwiches, they have chicken almond with mustard butter and english cucumber with mint butter. They include a small sipping glass of carrot ginger coconut soup. In between the service, they also bring out a trio of sorbet with shortbread shaped like mini teapots. The experience includes a personal pot of tea for each guest. The tea list to choose from is massive and the steeping time depends on the type of tea. Not to worry, they do provide a helpful hour glass to help determine when the tea is ready. They will also offer to refill the hot water if necessary. My favorites are the Alice in Wonderland, Lemon Chiffon Rooibos, French Vanilla, and Queen's Royal Afternoon. Servers also walk around offering samples of other teas. Service is phenomenal! The pricing is on the higher end however this is a unique experience and I think it's worth a visit. They offer some dessert items, gifts, and teas for purchase.

If you want to feel like royalty, Queen Mary Tes Room is the place. I have no been twice and am chomping at the bit to see what next season's menu has in store. The room is filled wall to wall with British tea knick-knacks. The decoration for each holiday livens up the space to the next level. I always can't help myself but to go with a big pot of Earl Grey and the Afternoon Tea that comes with three tiers of savory, sweet and other deliciousness. If you're looking for a place to relax in the Seattle gloom, this is it.

This is definitely the place to bring a date or a friend if you want to impress them. It is a place of celebration an opportunity to feel like you're part of something special, because every thing that comes out feels like it was done with care and respect. From the tea selection to the sugar presentation, from the shots of soup to single bite desserts, fresh fresh fruits to the cucumber finger sandwiches, from the beef pasties to the cold sorbet. Simply delicious and beautifully served. Don't mistake their tea shop (emporium) for this tea room. They are just up the street from each other. Always need a reservation. Usually booked out on weekends. Packed: every table was booked. Despite close quarters the abundance of drapery seems to absorb sounds so you feel some sense of private conversation.

One of the best afternoon tea experience. To start, the place is a cozy and lively with fantastic smells of tea. The service is prompt, friendly and did not have to wait or ask for anything. The food was very delicious and my favorite was the soup and cucumber sandwich. There was a perfect balance of offerings and was very filling. There is street parking available as well.

What a cute spot! Loved the interior, it was so whimsical. The Royal Rose tea was incredible as were the bites for afternoon tea. Our server was very nice and knowledgeable of the menu.

The dessert plate level. I did not take pictures of other plates (there were three levels total, including the sweets).

I love a proper team time, and I am so happy to have finally visited Queen Mary Tea Room. My husband and I went on Friday before Christmas and had an absolute blast. The interior looked like Christmas threw up in it in the best way possible. The room was cozy, festive, and truly set me up to feel the Christmas spirit. The service was fabulous; we showed up without a reservation, and they were able to accommodate us. I don't recommend this, I think we got very lucky. All the staff we interacted along the way was friendly and helpful. We had the full tea service, and left absolutely satiated and with a container of leftovers + an extra dessert. Each service order comes with a pot of tea, so if everyone in your party orders afternoon tea, each person gets their own flavor. My favorites include the sausage roll, chicken curry sandwich, cucumber sandwiches, and the most flavorful and sweet strawberries and blueberries. I cannot wait to go back!

The star of this review is the customer experience-- from the moment I walked in until the door closed behind me when I left, the staff was welcoming and friendly the entire time. There was enthusiasm for making it a memorable experience and meeting our needs that really stood out. The overall experience was lovely and if you'd like a traditional tea experience, you can't go wrong.

Top Pro: Aesthetics and atmosphere Top Con: THE PRICEEEEEE Okay so the prices are absolutely ABSURD. I will say... I saw the reviews before I went, I knew it was going to be expensive. But I was under the impression it was around $70 per person, per tower. (for hi tea tower with all the cute little crumpets, scones, cookies and fruit) You guys.... It's around $70 for HALF the tower. I ordered two hi tea towers and when the waitress came out with only one tower I was SHOOK. I already prepared myself to pay for a $70 tower of over priced snacks. But I thought I was at least going to get my own and my friend was going to get her own. Also, I told them beforehand it was my friends birthday and they did acknowledge it.... But they did so with HALF A STRAWBERRY on a tiny plate with a single candle in it!!!!! HALF. A SINGLE. STRAWBERRY. THEY CANT EVEN SPARE A WHOLE STRAWBERRY?!?!? The experience was cute n all but this place is ROBBING you all. At least I got some cute photos..???? Cheers.

The food is incredible, the servers were professional, friendly. The decor is very cute and english. Our server, Cory, was friendly and happy, and knew her teas. :) This was our third trip, and we'll be back.

This is an excellent tea room, that serves very fine tea. We had Afternoon Tea with traditional English Breakfast. The small sandwiches, cookies and cakes were delightful.

Is this place closed??? Reservations are being cancelled..

Not clear but someone posted a review 5 days ago, so perhaps give them a call during business hours to find out what's up?

Are they currently open due to covid 19 for a small event, maxim 8 people?

Yeah you can go to their website and make a reservation :)

Is this business currently operating? Couldn't find any updates on their website

It is but the owner is having the hardest time keeping staff due to the toxic environment. You can always call and make a reservation, tho you might have a better experience doing a catering style order and renting the tiers and plates.

How much does the afternoon tea cost per person?

    $40

The cheesecake bites were not as flavorful as I would have liked, along with the vanilla ice cream, but I have a crazy sweet tooth so I recommend this one for those who like milder desserts that are not too sweet. The mixed berry bingsu was my fave! The berries were fresh but the best part was the ice cream! Super flavorful and I loved the fruit syrup too. For both, the bingsu itself is very light in flavor and texture. It melts in your mouth and pairs well with the toppings, especially that sweetened condensed milk. I hope to come back to try other items soon!!

The crème brûlée was warmed and freshly caramelized on top. This is not made in advance and just refrigerated which seems to be more common these days. The hot chocolate hit the spot!
