My visit here pretty much started off online, where my bestie and I decided to sign up for a…read moredumpling class and found this place. We were put on the waitlist after doing so but then got a text several days later saying two spots opened for us, so I snagged our seats as fast as I could. Really appreciate the staff on the other line for reaching out to me and "reserving" my spots unless I let them know I'm not interested! Getting here, there is the Meyden Garage that offers 3-hour free parking for customers of Whisk and other surrounding businesses though most spaces inside there did not have the signage saying that so it was confusing parking around there. Getting inside the building, you'll see what can only be described as a haven for chefs and aspiring cooks of all levels; you have cooking tools, pots and pans, cookbooks, plates, neatly folded cloth napkins and a bunch of other things strewn around in such a colorful and organized manner. The kitchen for our cooking class was clean and spacious, with all the ingredients we need prepped and set out in front of us. We worked in pairs prepping and cooking all our dishes throughout. Chef Thanh Tang was very informative and engaging throughout the whole process, and the other staff working with him were efficient in cleaning used utensils and keeping everyone's prepped items in check. Instructions were very clear, and directions flowed very well since we made one dumpling after another! Since both of us don't really cook and we had many questions to ask, it took us a bit to catch up with the rest of the class, but all the folding techniques became much easier to do thanks to our teacher. For this particular class, we pan-fried the shrimp and chive dumplings, while the wontons and steamed vegetable dumplings we prepped were steamed while we all took a break. As for the spicy green beans, I actually had the chance to stir-fry a non-spicy version of them in front of the class! All the food we made here was really good, and we came close to having to box some of it home too! Everything here was worth the $150 per person from the experience to the food, and I'd take another class here in the future! For reference, the class I took is called "More Dumplings, Dumpling?" and ran on a Saturday from 5:30-8:30pm though that's just a timeframe since I did stay slightly longer just to finish my food!

The store has some cool kitchen gear but this review is mostly in response to the cooking classes!…read more Did their Italian-American Dinner Pasta Bolognese class with a Caesar salad and panna cotta with chef James! It was a fun experience. You show up and get greeted by their staff. You'll find your station and go to work! Some of the ingredients are pre-prepped which is nice otherwise you'd be there all night haha. The class was roughly 2 hours long and then we enjoyed dinner all together so roughly a 2.5 hour experience when it was all said and done. The fans kick in so it can be a tad bit loud when everyone is cooking but the instructor was great and made his way around the room to make sure everyone was doing what they were supposed to do. They had 2 additional staff members helping out to make sure any ingredients you needed were available. Plus - you get a glass of wine :) Fun date night!

In case you don't want to read everything, just know that you should go here. NOW! :) I wanted to do something fun and different with my girlfriends this year for my birthday. I thought a cooking class would be fun so I turned to Groupon to see if there were any good deals. There were 3 in Seattle and 2 in Woodinville. I emailed each location to see if anyone had space for our group the weekend of my birthday. All (except one) were not very accommodating and the ones that I had spoke to weren't very friendly. I'm not sure if it was because I was using a deal on Groupon that was off putting to them, which has happened to me in the past. Dona from Winery Kitchen called me after reading my email and she was so warm and friendly. She told me that the weekend of my birthday they had a class going on which was not the one on groupon, it was actually more expensive (mozzarella making class). BUT Dona was so kind enough to offer me that class at the groupon rate for the weekend I wanted and she even put an event on the website that had a cupcake picture and titled it "Vicki's Birthday Party" How sweet is that?? The location was easy to find with the directions and address she sent. Upon arrival, I saw two buildings, one was a house and the other looked like a detached garage with cute wine barrels outside for decoration and a large "Winery Kitchen" sign. There was a sign that said Kitchen on the side of the house and an arrow pointing you to go around back. There were a few garden beds and a table where herbs were growing on the patio. I entered in through the sliding door and saw the class. You could tell it was new, but it had a rustic and warm feeling to it. Dona and the wine educator, Katrina, were both very sweet and welcoming. They even had a birthday note on the chalkboard for me and made cupcakes and strawberries with a delicious fruit dip! Since my friends are from Seattle and I am from the Auburn area, I told them I would just meet them there. I should have tried to meet with them before hand because sometimes they have a tendency to be late... and they were about 30 minutes late! Oh man.. how embarrassing. I felt so bad that we had to wait for them, but Dona was so patient and assured me it was ok. She waited for them to start. While we waited, she showed us around the small garden out back, we pulled out elephant garlic, and learned about the herbs she had growing. When my friends finally showed up, we began class. The class consisted of myself, 4 of my friends, and two other people. We were given name tags, aprons, and gloves. First, we went to the tasting room for an olive oil tasting, which was interesting and different for me me since I have never done that. I probably won't be drinking olive oil again anytime soon unless I had bread and balsamic vinegar to go with it ;) but it was a good experience to taste it because I never realized how different they could all taste and how it could affect the food you cook. Oh I almost forgot to talk about the tasting room! It was so beautifully decorated. It had a rustic barn feel. A chandelier in the middle of the room, marquee letters, and a long dark wooden table. We moved back into the kitchen to begin making mozzarella and pesto. We made two different kids of pesto, one with spinach and the other with basil. Dona kept assuring us to try to make our own recipe that fits our taste buds and it was so fun to try everyone else's food! When we were all done, we sat back in the tasting room, ate what we had made, and toasted with a glass of champagne. We also spent time talking and getting to know each other. This class was amazing, I can't say enough good things about it or Dona. She makes you feel welcome, is always laughing, and just a great person overall. Winery Kitchen just opened not too long ago and she has big plans for future classes and gardening. I know they will be very busy, so book a class here! You won't regret it :) I will definitely be back!

Chef Dona and her team are professional, warm and very helpful. I would definitely do again!

They were super gracious and accommodated us on short notice. We were greeted with a tasting of wine and friendly welcome. We did a white and red tasting and had the charcuterie board and truffle fries. It is a gorgeous setting which was even more perfect with the changing leaves. First of all, what a beautiful space--very cozy outside with the firepits (it was too cold for us to use ), but the indoor space was spacious and had multiple rooms with very tasteful holiday decorations. We didn't get to explore too much outside, but we were told of its uniqueness. Our server was informative, high energy, and checked on us a lot. We were able to try their charcuterie platter and truffle popcorn to snack on. Wines were tasty and we were able to bring some home, although we were not able to partake in the big holiday savings. I believe this tasting room is usually reserved for its wine club members, but there are occasional openings to the public. As mentioned in other reviews, they do not have a lot of parking so you'll have to carpool with your party. It seems well executed in the parking lot area, however, we accidentally parked at the bottom of the hill (maybe staff parking) and had a short hike up to the tasting room. A little stressful coming down after the tasting in the dark, but it made for a fun adventure. We'll definitely be back when it's warmer out!

A great venue/winery/space/area/garden all in one! This…read moreplace is arguably the top of must-go-to places in Woodinville. It's a winery with vast outdoor gardens, lawns, and places to enjoy the spring and summer weather. Inside is a massive area with plenty of tables to listen to live music usually every weekend that goes throughout the fall and winter. They have some amazing wine offerings. Plenty of options on the cellar wall or chilled in the fridge. Our personal favorite is the White Cabernet Sauvignon. Service is quick and efficient, though we often just skip the bar - grab a bottle and checkout at the main register area where you will also get glasses. Take the bottle outside or grab a table, or if the venue open for one of the summer concerts, definitely worth going inside the main winery area instead of the vendors outside with limited options. Summer concert series is hit and miss. Can bring some great options and acoustics are great! However, sometimes the seats are absurdly high priced - and the crowd around you can be a mixed bag that seemingly just buys the season pass for all the concerts instead of going for a specific event. Overall - great place to go, if you can catch a concert, within your budget, definitely go! One of the better outdoor venues in Western WA.

We stopped in for glasses of wine since we didn't want to splurge on a full tasting, and I appreciated that this was an option. We didn't have a reservation and arrived on a quiet, rainy Sunday, though I can imagine this place filling up quickly on sunny days or holidays. Was it more expensive than expected? Yes -- glasses ran between $16-$18. They are pouring their run of the mill table wines here. They also had food menus on the tables, which you order from the bar and have brought out to you. Overall, a lovely place to visit and experience, especially if you're already a fan of the brand.
