I have been going to this Solon since moving to NC 5 years ago. I have seen some nail techs come and go but Kim always replaces them with skilled pleasant new ones. I am a dipping powder person and they do it better than any other I have used. It's an enjoyable peaceful experience . I also love that she brings her dog, Enzo, who is calm and adds ambience with his mellow personality. Thanks y'all read more

i'm very disappointed with this nail salon. After a couple of positive visits, I started to make appointments to guarantee I would get fast service. Each time I have made an appointment for the last two visits, the times I requested have been recorded incorrectly. Today I was told my 11 o'clock would be interrupted because a customer who always books ahead had an 1130 appointment. I'm left to wonder, Why did you accept my 11 o'clock appointment four days ago? I won't be back. read more

Great pedicure service! My friends and I went to get pedicures together and were all seated together right away. We got the basic pedicure service with gel nail polish. The seats have a remote control for massage options and it was great. It cycled twice for 2, 20 minute massages. We were all happy with our nails and the massages. Nail techs were awesome. read more

Best manicure once again from Kim! Looks natural because it's not thick & the dip lasts a solid month without ever lifting. Won't go anywhere else :). read more

Super clean salon, you can always get in, and my nails look great and last. Not the warmest group of people, but I really don't want to talk to anyone anyway read more

While they do a good job with designs, the nail techs are way too harsh with the e-file and their acrylic nails are done poorly and pop off within a week. Today I soaked off my nails have rings from the acrylic set and fill-ins that I have gotten the last 3 times I was there. My nails are now ruined, super thin and now I have to grow them out for a long time before I can get acrylic again. Don't go there unless you want your nail beds to be destroyed. Additionally, their pedicures are mediocre and I still have to go home and use my own callous remover for my feet to be smooth. For the prices they charge, their service should be 110% better. I have been there three times out of convenience and I am a firm believer in second chances (even thirds) but that was a mistake and I won't be returning. read more

I used to go a nail tech that had her own suite. She was good, but pricing kept going up without notice. Mimi Nail Spa is close to my home so I decided to give them a try. I was pleasantly surprised! Kim is very talented at nail art. And the pricing is very reasonable. I've never encountered an unexpected price increase. For pedicures, I recommend Tony and Summer. read more

Walked in and the place was relatively empty so i asked for 2 mani pedis for myself and another. We were quickly sat in a chair to get our toes done and once I asked for a basic service the tech quickly told me i should get the tropical service "to help with my heals". Fine, I'm treating myself, let's do it. Everything else was good until we were done and they didn't move us to chairs to get manis. When we said we had requested both, they didn't have time because other walk ins had come (okay???). We left and after closer inspection my toes weren't painted well and there was some paint on the skin. Today I wake up and the skin on my foot is a little sore because the tech scrubbed way too hard and left my skin raw. Not a great experience and won't be back. read more

My girls and I decide spur of the moment to get a pedicure one Sunday afternoon in Hillsborough...well the place was at capacity and it was going to be an hour and a half wait so we started calling around to places in Durham. This was the only place that was available for all four of us at such short notice. We drove over and they were ready by the time we got there (they had actually called in another employee to accommodate us!) Everyone was very friendly and did a good job. Everyone was wearing a mask and there was hand sanitizer everywhere. It was a little bit of sticker shock to have a standard pedicure be $38, but I hadn't gotten one since lockdown so maybe that's the going rate now? Regardless, they accommodated us and I was happy with their work so I'm definitely returning. read more

This is my go to place for my mani and pedi. They do such an amazing job. Always pay's attention to detail and will get you in and out. Went in today, just before they got busy. So my best friend and I got mani-pedi's. This is a top notch nail salon with extremely reasonable prices and excellent work done. They have an extensive menu of options for both mani and pedi. I highly recommend the milk and honey pedi it comes with paraffin wax treatment. The chairs are also amazing! This is my new spot! read more

I started coming here when I was pregnant. The mommy pedicure is amazing. After my baby, I kept going, but I would only get a pedicure. My favorite one (post baby) is definitely the milk and honey pedicure. It's the ultimate key to relax your feet and mind. About three months ago, I went in for my usual, and Kim (my favorite tech there) convinced me to try SNS nails. I was a bit hesitant because I don't like to mess up my nails. Nevertheless, today marked my 3rd appointment with Kim, and it surely wasn't the last. She is so creative and helpful with choosing a color and adding a little pizzazz to your nails. This place is also the cleanest nail salon I have ever been too. It doesn't have that strong chemical smell, all the tools come out of unopened plastic bags, and they wrap the pedicure tubs in plastic. Great place! read more

I wasn't too sure of this place but I'm glad I took my daughter there.. called them and they immediately said they had an opening. Got there in 15 minutes and they took us right in. My daughter showed the guy a pic of what she wanted and he had no problem with the design. Kim wasn't very talkative but that's ok she worked on details on my daughters nails and cuticles! My daughter was very impressed cause last place we went jacked up her design. We also got our brows waxed and again Kim was very detailed and precise! I do believe we found our new spot.. prices are a but expensive but ya pay for what u want and they definitely provide them services! Thanks read more

As a convenient location I've attempted this establishment a couple times over the past 3 years. Always left disappointed in the services. Beautiful salon good customer service but not so great experience, my fiancé got a pedicure and im in shock when he showed me his feet! He was saying it was burning and hurt and I just thought he was being dramatic the nail tech completely cut his toes and poured alcohol on them. And then with my experience I showed pictures and requested gel white tips sounds easy right? No ended up with pink dipped nails over top the white tips? Had her remove all nails. Great Nail Salon, Pretty Consistent I go here about once a month and am generally happy with their services. Occasionally, someone starts to rush through (usually on a Friday) and I just tell them I'm particular about it being neat and they are careful. It is very clean and they do take care to bring out new, sanitized items every time. The basins for the pedicures are cleaned after every service. Overall atmosphere is nice. They have several levels of service but they never try to "upsell" me which I appreciate. read more

Oh man, I do love leaving a nail spa $50 poorer and still with scratchy cracked feet -- oh wait, I totally don't. 8 hours later and I still can't get over how pissed I am at throwing away money and an hour of my day on a pedicure only to have virtually no difference. Was the atmosphere nice? Yes it was. Was the service friendly and the massage nice? Yes it was. Are my toes painted and sculpted? Yeah. The chair was comfy, the music serene, the foot soak relaxing, and the polish well-applied (sort-of). But those are transient. I don't care what my toes look like--I'm not a fashionista. The only reason I can conscience spending money on my _feet_, of all things, is so that I don't have to endure scratchiness in the sheets at night, or embarrassment in flip-flops. And that, my friends, is where Mimi Nail Spa totally drops the ball. I even bought the second-tier Tropical "Callous Removing" Pedicure (it's even in the name people!!) where they slather oranges on your legs, put lots of lotions and scrubs on your toes, and you walk away smelling like the best cocktail you've ever wanted to drink. But still with cracked rough heels! I could tell this guy was half-assing the bottoms of my feet as he was doing it, but upon my commenting, all he could say was yeah, I see. Basically, my verdict is: if you like wasting time and money for someone to paint your nails, go for it, but if you want a real pedicure, go somewhere else. read more

I'll start off by saying one of my biggest pet peeves at nail salons is when you come in a pair (or more), and someone ends up waiting extra because the technicians jump to each person who walks in and leaves in the middle of a job. Mimi Nail Spa unfortunately operates this way. I've been here a few times, and I've always thought it wasn't that great for the price. I went tonight with my mom to get gel manicures and pedicures. We started off at the same time with pedicures. We both got the $31 basic pedicures and I have no complaints. My mom finished a bit earlier than me, so she was sat in a manicure chair, and we were hoping the technician would begin her manicure. I finished up a minute or so after her and was immediately brought to a chair and the technician who did my pedicure started on my nails. After waiting about 20 minutes to get started, my mom became a little impatient and began looking for her nail technician. She was assured she'd start in a few minutes. After my entire manicure was through, my mom still hadn't been seen. This irritated me, so I asked the technician who did my nails if she could start on my mom's. Her response was a simple, "No." Finally, Lynn came to the rescue and started on my mom's nails and assured us she'd be quick. She was very pleasant, and the three of us had a great conversation and laughed and joked around with one another. Lynn was quick, but she didn't miss a beat. My mom's nails looked fabulous. When we were checking out, she apologized and gave us a 10% discount, which I thought was very sweet. If it weren't for Lynn's wonderful customer service and charming personality, I probably wouldn't return, but I've decided I will return, and will be sure to call ahead and request her. read more

This was my first time going here last weekend. The customer service was nice, and they are super friendly. I got a regular pedicure with regular polish. I also got a manicure but with gel polish. When i got home and looked at my the bottom of my feet i had to go back over the work because my feet was not smooth at all. Although my polish looked good. Another person did my manicure and i really liked the way he shaped my nails and my polish was great. But the very next morning it started chipping. I paid $20 extra so that it would last. I had a photo shoot 2 days after with chipped nails that i had to hide. Its been a week and 2 days today and my regular polish is still in tact. Don't pay for the gel polish it wont last. And please please check behind your pedicurist. I would like a refund to be honest with you. read more

Friendly techs.....not happy that my pedicure looks like the polish is separating and cracking after a few days. It looks as if the polish is shrinking and drawing inward, and it has a blue tint to the polish like dark denim transfer (haven't worn jeans nor blue socks) and wasn't there when I left the salon the polish was shiny and vibrant (oil was applied by the tech so they looked good with the oil on them)...weird. My nails on my left hand all split at the same location and peeled off (a drill was used), so now the right hand has nails and the left has nubs. I believe in second chances, so I'll get a different tech the next time, hopefully will have better results. read more

Whenever I am in Durham I go to Mimi nail spa to get a manicure or pedicure. They are almost always open for walk ins without having to wait. I paid $60 only to get cute on every finger. I really wanted to like this nail place because Paris nail bar across the street always has a huge wait time. That should've been my first clue, because this nail place ford very rough and very sloppy work. They are also very unsanitary, I watched the lady working there doing someone's pedicure and helping her put on her shoes without gloves, and then work on my manicure without washing her hands. Disgusting. They claim they couldn't do a gel manicure on my nails because there was a crack. I asked them to cut it, but they said dip powder would be better and they lied about the price. It's almost $60 for the record, they lied by $10. I then proceeded to get a very sloppy dip manicure from a gentleman working there, and he did not even push back my cuticles, he didn't take care of my nails, etc. just did a rushed and sloppy dip which resulted in me getting cuts on several fingers from the filing. Also, this man did not even bother, asking me what shape I wanted and proceeded to cut my nails so short and do a very ugly round shape. I wanted an almond. I won't be coming back here. read more

Services were fine but they refused to honor a gift certificate because it was given under the previous owner. They honored 40% of it (a number they literally just made up in the spot). This is a great nail salon with great customer service. The salon is clean and comfortable, and they offer tons of color options for gel polish. I got a gel manicure and pedicure and it cost $68, which I thought was a little on the pricey side. I did the signature spa pedicure for $31, which is a very basic spa pedicure, but they do offer "upgraded" spa pedicures as well (at an additional cost). Would be great for a "girls spa day" as they have a drink selection that includes wine. Tip: They do have coupons on their website which I didn't know about until after I left the salon. 5$ off $50 or more or 10% off any service M-W. read more
