After a year of coming here I have had my nails done by many of the different nail techs and each time I have been impressed by how much they seem to care about the job they are doing. With that said, there are varying levels of skill at this salon. Just like you would find at any salon. You can pick a specific nail tech of your choosing if you prefer. Cynthia, the owner, is wonderful. It's not easy to run this sort of business but she does a great job and genuinely cares about the customers and her employees. I was so excited for my pedicure once I landed in Durham. I called two days in advance and made an appointment for 5pm on 7/3. I walked in and let them know about my appointment, I saw them check their book and confirm I was on there. She then told me to check in on the kiosk and pick my color. I followed the woman to a pedicure chair where she informed me that I shouldn't sit there and it was for someone else. About two minutes later, a woman walks in and thanks her for squeezing in an appointment. Wow. She tells me to go speak to the manager. He asks can I wait because there are three other people ahead of me, I said no I really couldn't and that's why I made an appointment. Very, very disappointing experience. Why let me check in for my appointment but then don't service me? Why was another woman with an appointment serviced before me? Why was there no real solution offered except wait for an undisclosed amount of time? I thought people were friendlier down south but clearly the businesses are not. 0/10. read more

Front desk lady VERY was nasty and rude. We (me and my two daughters) were being treated by my husband and was told we could only get one service. We were only getting Pedicures/ One Manicure. I prefer to go to nail salons that have an online booking system because it shows they're tech savvy. Posh has one but it's the kind where you select the day/time that you want and they'll get back to you if that slot is available. I wish it was the kind of system that only shows available dates/times and allows you to pick a specific nail tech as it would make it easier to schedule. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted and asked what service I was getting. I also checked in on their tablet. Cindy did my nails and she was awesome! I showed her a picture of a nail design with nude nails and gold foils and asked if she could do that with dipping powder (the last nail salon I went to couldn't do it). She said she could if they had the foils so she checked their inventory and found some. I love my nails so much! The thickness and shape was perfect. Cindy took her time applying the foil design which is a time consuming and delicate process. I also appreciate the fact that she sealed the sns with a gel top coat. I think I finally found a nail salon that I like. I'm pretty rough on my nails and usually have issues with the nails lifting up at the cuticles but I didn't have that issue this time so I'm very happy about that. Nothing worse than running your fingers through your hair and it getting stuck under your nails. After about 2.5 weeks, I have already gone back to get my nails done and Vince did an amazing job! I love the shape of my nails and he got the dip powder really close to my cuticles which not a lot of people do. The parking situation is great as the nail salon is in a shopping center. read more

I decided to come here after reading the reviews while being new to the area. I made a same day appointment and scheduled a dip reapply with manicure and pedicure. Once the pedicure service started, I felt so rushed throughout it. The gentleman that did my pedicure (believe his name is Kevin) and also prepped my dip removal. While he was soaking the cotton balls with acetone on the pedicure rest, my lower legs were drenched with acetone while he was applying the cotton/foil wraps on my fingers...it was quite messy. read more

I chose this salon because it has excellent reviews, and I have been here for about five or six visits and have always left happy. However, my most recent visit was a stark contrast to my previous experiences. My recent SNS manicure was completed on a Saturday, June 30th, and I returned the following Tuesday (right before the holiday) because I found a hairline crack in one of my nails. I feared the crack would completely chip off while the business was closed on July 3rd and 4th, so I went in for a nail repair on Tuesday before the holiday. They repair nails for free within ten days of the service, and I have had this completed for free previously without a problem. I called to make an appointment that day for the nail repair. However, I felt a bad vibe from the moment I came to the salon for my repair. I was NOT greeted as usual when I entered the salon. Then, about twenty minutes later, the manicurist (who did the original work) began working on my nails; her body language and mannerisms told me she was upset that I was there. I felt she was irritated with me. She then proceeded to not only redo my ONE damaged nail, but she redid EVERY nail. To lighten the mood, I began some small talk. During the visit, she commented about me being a "VIP," which made me laugh. However, not long afterward, I asked her if she was doing anything fun for the holiday and on the days the salon was closed. She did not answer me. It felt cold. Then, very shortly afterward, she began talking in Vietnamese with those around her, and three or four others started laughing. That went on for maybe five minutes, and they talked back and forth amongst each other in Vietnamese and laughed multiple times. This came across as VERY RUDE to me. I did not feel welcomed. Also, if they had something funny to say, why couldn't they talk in English? I assumed they were talking about me and laughing about what was being said. Even if they weren't talking about me, the behaviors I experienced seemed very unprofessional, and I felt unwelcome from the moment I entered the salon that day. This behavior starkly contrasted with my previous experiences and left me deeply disappointed. Had an absolutely wonderful experience at Posh! I had an appointment, checked in at a tablet, picked a polish, and was seen right when my appointment started. I would recommend making an appointment (I went on a Friday afternoon and it was busy), but they do take walk-ins. The salon is super clean and cute, and my manicurist Lilly was highly skilled and very gentle. I got a POSH Smart Spa pedicure and Deluxe manicure - this included a soak, exfoliating sugar scrub, moisture and paraffin wraps with hot towels, lotion and oil massage, and of course nail polish which came out perfect. I used a gift card to pay and it was super easy to redeem. I tend to get anxious trying out new places and it ended up being a really relaxing appointment, I plan to be back soon! read more

Pros: *My pedicure was really good and at an affordable price. *I made an appointment and they took me right in when I arrived. *Very relaxing music playing and a variety of shows on the TV screens. Cons: *While the music was relaxing, the staff was loud. They were talking to each other from across the salon, laughing and joking with one another. When I'm paying $80 for a pedicure I would like the atmosphere to be more calm and professional. *I had read on a Yelp review that they serve wine. I made my appointment right after work thinking I would have a glass of wine with my relaxing pedicure. My technician said they only serve water. I cannot say enough good things about Posh Nail salon! I've been coming here for a few years now and have never had a bad experience! Today Lee did my nails and I could not be happier with this design. You will need to call ahead and make an appointment because they fill up and you don't want to be sitting there waiting, but they do accept walking as well. They offer SNS, gel and regular polish services. Prices are very reasonable and I have always been happy with how my nails/toes look. I'm very impressed with how clean the salon is! I called same day, asking if there was availability for a fill, change of color, and change of shape. I was able to get an appointment for 30 minutes after my call which was perfect. I asked for a fill, almond shape, and I picked a new color. I wasn't asked if I wanted my nails a little shorter, I didn't ask myself (this is my first time getting a fill so I wasn't sure I was supposed to ask- this is not why I took a star off). I took two stars off because of how rough the nail tech was. When filing my nails he kept saying "sorry if I'm hurting you" while my skin was clearly nicked and bleeding. Kept going. He asked if it hurt and I said yes. When filing was finished, it was fine. The shape is fine, color nice. When checking out I was charged the same price as a full set which was annoying. The reason being for the shape and color change. I'm searching for a nail place that I enjoy and this just wasn't it. The woman in charge has an attitude issue, she is impolite and I've seen her get into loud arguments with customers on 2 different occassions including once because a customer was 10 mins late and she said they were no longer available. Ive also had poor quality nail service. Last visit my manicurist insisted on doing 3 gel color coats when I said it was too many, and it ended up looking way too thick. A different manicurist took 75 mins just to remove my gel polish which is way too long, it seemed like he was inexperienced. One of the worst experiences I've had getting my nails done. I was a walk in so maybe that was why they stuck me with the guy with no experience. My cuticles were cut multiple times and he cut so deep on the side of my nail it exposed a good chunk of my nail bed. This was very painful and will take a long time to heal. I got a no chip and after the first coat he would just paint one nail and then have me put my whole hand under the UV light, so I had to put my hand under the light about 20 times which is crazy.
