What I enjoyed about this location specifically was that they were not trying to oversell me on anything. They printed me out of list of future repairs that need to be done at some point and the employee even went out of his way to number them in order of priority. I had an appointment set at 1230pm to see the guy working on my car take a break and talk with other employee for a whole hour until I asked the ETA for my car they want to tell me if I would like to change my tires due to one being bald i told them i would like my tires replaced and how long it would take they said half an hour due to me starting work at 2 pm its now 243pm and it seems like they are bearly getting to do my oil change and have not started on my tires read more

This particular Midas location is my favorite because the manager, Nick, seems to actually care that things get done right. I once had to get all four brand new tires and there was a slight issue with workmanship due to one of the techs. And of course it had to be at the end of the night and he made sure that things got corrected right away. Although I ended up coming back the next day to fully resolve the issue. He went above to make sure it was done right. And also went above to get me into a slighty better tire than I paid for. Maybe because I had to get all four brakes done as well and for me, was a pretty penny. I had to call The Parents for help. I think he knew it was a lot for us. Nevertheless, I got the tire issue fixed and a slightly better tire at the expense of the business. And that was his call. So thats cool point number 1 for this location and the Manager- Nick. And and all, I would say for me it's the fact of Nick's management style. Because I was in a couple of months ago, in like Feb, or end of Jan for brake pads on the front end. I came back to this location because I knew about the lifetime warranty on the brakes. Just pay for the labor and they replace the pads. But I told him this slightly long old story about the Other Midas location. [Insert story] There is a different location,much closer to my house. I stopped in, asked if I HAD to go to the Autoplex location (which I should have) to take advantage of the lifetime brakes. The one guy was cool, he called up the Autoplex location and had my brake receipt emailed so I could take advantage of the lifetime brakes. Things were cool. I was abiut to pay when ANOTHER guy incorrectly looked at what recommendations were needed went and told me I needed to control arms ASAP. Which mind you are alot! Thats like 1300 or 1400 for both or like damn near 800 to do one because of labor. So, I paid for my little oil change and and brake pads. I left scared and anxious because I knew how much it was. But also how needed it was because of safety reasons. Plus I didn't want to ruin my car if I continued to drive it. Then stupid Covid-19 happened and we had recommended stay at home orders, my job sent us to work from home. I live with my sis, so grocery trips were done in her ride. But in the back of my mind I was very worried about my car I drove it so much less often because in my head I needed like 1400 in work. Then I remembered it was my old Pontiac G6 needed this before I traded it. So now, in my gut I knew the guy who said "oh you need control arms" was wrong. I was still worried because what if. I didn't have it and didn't want to call The Parents again. So I called up the service manager at ABC Nissan who I deal with for oil changes now and then. [Because hes cool and gives me a free one more often than he probably should because I don't get big work there because its too expensive.] Anyway I told him my concern that the OTHER Midas location was trying to jip me. Like a cool ass Tio, he had me come for a free inspection on my control arms. Turns out they weren't needed at all! I didn't even need to be worried. Fast forward when I had to go for my front brakes I went to this Awesome Location. I would not dare trusting The Other location with my business again. And who was there? Nick. I mentioned this long ass story. And what does he say? "Thank you for telling me, because I NOW manage that along with other locations." Even asked if I remembered the dudes name. Which of course I didn't but I described him to a T lol. And he was like, oh thats so and so. Cool point #2. So I told Nick, for that very huge reason, this is why I prefer the Autoplex location above the other one. I'll come the 13 min vs 2 min. Not that big of a difference commute wise. But walking home on a long wait is no longer an option. Or Lyfting, because in my opinion is not worth the extra like $15 to $20 car ride, and double it because getting back to get my completed car is not worth an extra $40 total. Which tbh I probably dont have that extra anyway. Imagine if I came in to The Other lacation with the $ to get it done. I wonder if they'd say, No you don't need it or just do it and charge me. Or not do it, say they did and still charge me? Who knows? So if you read my review. Go here!!! They're good! Especially Nick. Perhaps another takeaway, trust your gut! God gave us intuition for a reason. But don't be a B**** or an A$$ to these people. If you want your 2nd opinion, get it if you truly want to. We all know time is money. Whether you're using PTO. Or a day off. Who wants to run around getting opinions? In my case my "Cool Tio" over at ABC Nissan had my best interest and saved me money and worry. Appointment confirmation online is worthless, calling and given an approx time is worthless because upon arrival given a 4 hour timeline even though Nick told us 1.5 hours on the phone. When asking on-site how to get an accurate time window was told they can't. They tried to sell $500+ services on top of the oil change that was asked for. I got a Groupon for an oil change and as far as I can tell they did it. It took a little over an hour and then as I was leaving they hand me this repair order. I'm told that I have leaks in my shocks and struts in the front and back of my car on both sides. These are obviously important because thats what stops cars from bouncing around on uneven roads and keeps the weight distributed evenly. The order form says this is gonna cost $1,204.44. That was the beginning of October, it's November now, and I have driven my car to and back from San Francisco with no problems. So clearly they lied to me. My dad and the company I bought my car from told me this is a common con they try on people who don't seem like they know anything about cars. The Groupon deal was pretty good, but I would take anything they tell you with a lot of skepticism. read more

Shame on the manager and mechanics here. They should be shut down. They never did the oil change that I paid for. 10 days after I got the oil change, I noticed my oil gage said 5% remaining. My truck sucked up three bottles of motor oil, that should never happen 10 days after an oil change. When I checked all fluid levels, everything was low. It's very obvious that the only thing the mechanics and staff did was take pictures and text me ridiculous things wrong with my truck. When I called the girl at the front desk and asked her what the most urgent issue was she said my brakes need to be replaced ASAP. I told her I just had my brakes replaced a year ago, how can that be? She said oh well they really need to be service. Serviced and replaced are very different things. Then she went on to say that I need my tires replaced. I also just had those replaced a year ago. Talk about a scam. Spent over 2k here ,they had me pay by phone before they even did the work. When I came to pick up my Durango they left my window control stitch half way off and when I asked to have it put back properly it was a big inconvenience to them to expect something in the same condition as when I brang it. They ended up gluing it down for me. Also when I asked about my trunk that I wanted them to look at because it wouldn't unlock to open they said it would take too much time to look at because they would have to take the whole back panel out. The manager nick was very accommodating when things were running slowly and even gave me a coupon for a free oil change for next time as an apology. I booked an appointment online for 5:30, mistakenly was at the wrong location, and this location would not take my vehicle. I was informed that both their location and the other, where I booked my appointment, do not take appointments after 5pm. They would not see me and I would have to reschedule, and so I asked if they could connect me with the other location, so that I could ask if they would still take my appointment for 5:30, and the service man provided me with a business card to call on my own. He encouraged me to take my vehicle to this car wash business next to theirs for service. read more

OMG. Dani was such a life saver to me. She was so great to work with and to inform of the steps needed to fix my catalytic converter. She was great and personal. Stay away. I've been here twice now because they have a great Groupon for a synthetic oil change. The first time I was there, they gave me a list of things that needed repairs on my car for over $800. I took it to another mechanic for a second opinion- 2 of the parts on the list my car did not even have and I only paid $400 for the other repairs. The second time, my husband went for an oil change. They said his rack and pinion was leaking and needed fixed for $1,600. We again went to a mechanic for a second opinion and it was not that at all. It was the transmission line had a small leak and was a $600 fix. They are not honest with repairs and overcharge- not worth the discounted oil change at all!! read more

I went in for an oil change and was spammed on my text which they give no warning about but okay not the end of the world. After unsubscribing to 4 different texts. I paid walked out and noticed my cabin air filter was opened and not shut properly. After coming in to get it fixed I was told by the service advisor Kristen Maselli that she didnt appreciate my attitude that I signed terms and conditions. She shouted at me and stormed off and yelled loudly fix this guys car. I have never had that experience before in my life. They got it wrong and treated me horribly after the fact. This is not a place with good customer service skills. No one should come here for thier car needs. They dont deserve your business and make mistakes. read more

I went to this Midas location last week after hearing a terrible grinding noise coming from my car. Assuming it was needing new brake pads, I went onto Groupon and purchased a brake pad bundle coupon for $75. I went for my scheduled appointment and was very upfront when handing over my keys that I specifically wanted to look only at replacing my brake pads, and (in a nice way) didn't want to get yanked around for whatever else was magically found wrong with my car. I handed my key to Nick, who said if he found any additional items, he would not be able to work on my car. I immediately figured that I wouldn't get my car fixed, because they can ALWAYS find something wrong with your vehicle. Sure enough, he came back and said that there's "absolutely no way" that he could fix my brake pads because they "fell off" 500 miles ago. Which is interesting he knew this, considering my car hadn't been lifted off the ground yet, so he must have a very acute sense of hearing. He said that my rotor was cutting into the calliper system and that if I drove another 20-25 miles, my car would stop braking completely. He said that I would not be able to drive my own car home and that the only means possible of leaving the shop would be on a tow truck. Now, I realize that my brakes were not well, but that's my extent of knowledge on cars, and I think he knew that, because it was a total scare tactic move to tell me my brakes would give out completely. He then told me my best bet would be to refund my $75 groupon and invest in their brake bundle. It was originally $189.99 but he dropped it to $149.99 "just for me" and said that would cover brakes. Then said i needed two new callipers (even though only one rotor was thinned out?) and those would be $54.99 each. And did the math and it came to $259.97. I figured that was too good to be true and asked what the catch was, and whether or not the price would jump. His response was that with tax and everything else, the total would come to $500. How? How would it double in price? I asked to leave my car there overnight and to not start work on it. He said that he could "get one of his guys" to give me a ride home, or call an Uber. While that's generous? It seemed to cross a very obvious line of customer service don'ts. I left and went back the next morning with my dad. We walked in and asked for the key, and Nick went from friendly and helpful to no eye contact, and wrote up a detailed report mentioning that he told us not to drive it and that we should work on it there. Printed that and did some more typing. He then let us know that he uploaded my dangerous brakes onto carfax.com. He didn't let us know that he was doing that until after he had already submitted it, tarnishing my car for future selling or trade-ins. Left, went to AutoZone and got brake pads for my car, some brake pads for my dad's car, and a singular rotor for the driver's side of my car for less than what I paid for my groupon. It took my dad less than an hour to take off and replace everything. Where we found that my car in fact still had brake pads, and they did not fall off 500 miles ago. So while I understand the markup on products, and the cost of labor-- I would like to know how a self-proclaimed handyman can fix my brakes in less than an hour for less than $100 and it would've cost $500 to get my brakes done at a "prestigious" chain where people are paid to know what they are doing? I would absolutely never recommend people going to this Midas location. I believe that they were trying to take advantage of me for not knowing a whole lot about the mechanics of cars, and using scare tactics to get me to use their services and to spend hundreds of dollars more than necessary. Completely unprofessional, and rude. I wish zero stars could be an option. read more

First, if you look at the trend for this average 4 star shop -- the last three months have been steady 3's. I went to this Midas shop for a readout on whether some work needed to be done. I left with a multi-thousand dollar estimate for parts and labor for work that probably DID need to be done. The reason for the poor review is that the markup on the parts was ... and I'm not making this up folks ... three and 1/2 times the internet price from O'Reilly's or AutoZone. I'm going to try Pep Boys -- they have the parts and they do the labor too, so there's no way they can jack you up like shops like Midas. read more

This is by far the best Midas shop in the Valley. They were very professional, efficient and the ideal definition of a top-quality team. Nick and Kristin- absolutely phenomenal management. I especially appreciate their commitments to sustainability with the transition to e-inspection reports. My oil change, tire rotation and air filter change only took 30 mins! Made a reservation at 12:30 to have my car looked at, told them in advance what the problem was. When I showed up the had painters on the outside of the building but garage doors were open. I asked how long it would be and I was told it would take 10 minutes to get into the bay and 30-40 minutes to diagnose. 30 minutes later my car gets into the bay and they close the garage doors, they tell me they cannot look at the car until they can open the doors and run the car (I told them ahead of time it was the fact that my car was not blowing hot air, you have to run it to test that) 2.5 hours later they finally get to open the doors and look at it. They tell me they can't help me because of my blender actuator and that I have to go to the dealer across the way that's closing in 30, who told me Midas only had to order the part. Today I was looking at other mechanics to help me and call them to see which of the actuators is broken and they tell me they do not know because they did not see which one was broken. Staff was kind, but service was extremely poor. 3 hours for what was supposed to be an hour appointment, and they did not actually diagnose my problem. I was not charged for the visit, reason for 2nd star. read more

***** Update 4/12/18 - Just got word from a friend that a friend of theirs went here and had a similar experience. So they have not changed. The inconvenient Midas touch: Hello my fellow Yelp reviewer, more than likely if you are reading this you are wondering whether or not to take your car to this Midas. The quick answer is no, run the other way, do not think twice about it, find another place that has the same if not better reviews, but save yourself some stress as well as money and do not bring your car to this or any Midas in the area that a gentleman by the name of "Keith" is the regional manager for. I could write a two page long review mapping out all the reasons for you not to take your car here, but that still wouldn't be enough to express the nightmare you could experience by dealing with this Midas, but I'll keep it brief because neither of us has time for that. I'm normally not a person that likes to share the bad experience that I have and just figure maybe it was just a bad day, but in this case I gave Midas way too many opportunities to make it right. After being referred here by my sister and checking Yelp reviews I decided this is the place I'd take my car to be serviced and address an issue with starting my car, and also have them address my catalytic converter replacement. Well after they ran their test and made some recommendations for two other repairs, I walked away paying $2,130. Not exactly cheap, but I figured I should be set with car repairs for a while. That however was not the case. Because of a recommended repair they had done, oil had leaked down and saturated my starter. It was fine for about two weeks and that is when I found out about this problem. My car wouldn't start and I had to have it towed. Not sure what the issue could be, since I just had it fixed, I took it to another Midas in the area I was at the time thinking they can hopefully fix it and I'll be on my way at no change other than my towing. Sadly that was not the case and I ended up paying $279 for the new starter and labor and $59 for the towing. Keep in mind the starter was one of the things they checked and verified was fine and not the cause of my hesitated start. I wrote to Midas about the situation to see what they would do to make it right and was told by the general manger, "life is full of inconveniences and this was just one of them." That was just the highlight of our talk, he even told me that they don't make recommendations on replacing parts "because you never know when they are going to go out, they could go out in 2 weeks or 2 years." Clearly this was his way of not wanting to own the issue and do anything to make it right. Almost every car repair shop I have been to makes recommendations and that's what they did in this case with two other recommendations on items to be replaced (valve cover gaskets and power steering pump). After doing more than my part as a consumer and trying to work with them I've given up. So again just play it safe and find another repair shop to spend your hard earned money at. A business that values you as a customer and takes pride in their quality of work to avoid future damage. Life is already full of inconveniences and financial challenges don't let the Midas touch cause more for you. read more

So quick shout out the the Midas in the Tempe Autoplex, got in my car to leave work tonight and my car won't shift out of 2nd gear... I'm freaking out.. I pull up and they are closed!! I was seriously feeling defeated and then the Store Manager Nick walks out and offers me a test drive (to save me from wasting time at another shop.. mind you it's passed 7 and most shops close at 6!)... long story short Nick is bomb he's working on my car right now and was supper upfront and honest about my work and is taking great care of me.. seriously the best customer service I have ever gotten at ANY shop. I was referred to this Midas location by my regular mechanic who said Midas could do the job better than they could. Big deal coming from my mechanic who I have used for about 15 years. So what was the job? Well I have a Tahoe Z71 that made this really great sound - if you are a guy. Not so much for the wife who hated the noise. I finally gave in and as a surprise I had the muffler replaced today. Drew met me and commisreated about the noise and agreed the truck sounded really good - BUT - that muffler had to go. He was helpful and got me in the same day and about an hour later I had a really quiet Z71. Yea I know guys who wants that? Well we have been happily together for 35 years and it was a small price to pay to have her get back in my truck for road trips. Drew and his crew are not in the happy marriage business but they are friendly, honest and get the job done for mufflers. And for those who hate to wait for auto work there are a bunch of restaurants close enough to walk to and you can see Costco from the parking lot. Or??? get a cup of coffee and sit in the lobby and talk to the people who come in because some good conversations were going on. Thank you Drew. read more

When I got here they caught my axel breaking and steering rods broken all things not caught by Big O tires. Don't we all dread car maintenance or repairs? Worrying if you're going to be ripped off or told there's some "urgent" repair needed and you're not sure whether it's necessary? Yeah, scares me too. All I needed was an oil change and wheel alignment. Oh, and could you check my brakes please? And let me know if anything else is wrong? I wasn't sure where to go for this work, so I turned to yelp.com to guide me. This was the only place I saw that had 5 stars (and was on my route to work) so I thought I'd give it a try. Glad I did. I'll preface and say that my only trivial complaint was that my appointment took over 2hours, but I think it was totally worth it. The manager, Mr. Maynard, is a great, and surprisingly honest guy. I am not familiar with cars, but he took the time to answer all my questions, address my concerns, and was very thorough in showing me how my brakes were doing, and how an alignment is performed. We talked about differences in brake systems, copper content in brake fluid, the 3 different planes of wheel alignment; honestly it was a wonderful experience. For me, it has been hard to find someone who has the time and knowledge and patience to discuss with a customer the workings of your car. His knowledge and frankness gave me confidence in their service. This doesn't mean that your car repairs also have to involve a lengthy discussion, but if you wanted a competent and knowledgeable guy who cares about the customer, then this Midas location is the place to go. AND even though my appointment lasted 2+hours, I was only charged the quoted prices. They were having a special on oil changes ($20) with free tire rotation (which I specified that I didn't need), and was given $10 off the alignment even though I forgot to print out the coupon. I would absolutely recommend this place and will be coming back in the future. read more

I am skeptical of chains for mechanics/car repairs. While I would not recommend all Midas, this location is simply AMAZING. The guys here know what they are doing and will explain it to you, they are honest and fair with their prices, and they truly understand customer service. I was on a road trip from Seattle to Houston so they made sure to service my car in one day so I could get on my way. These guys are a total fraud. I had a problem with the starter in my car and I towed it here. They fixed it with glue and charged me USD500 (claiming that they replaced it). Within less than a year the starter gaveup and I towed my car back to Midas (since the starter was under one year warranty). They did not honour the warranty and they gave me absurd reasons. I have never been to these fraudulent people after that. DOnt take your car hear, if you want to get a "real" repair done. read more

Worst car experience I ever had in my life! They completely broke my door to open my car. When I addressed it with them they said, "It was like that." No it was not. I'm more than sure one would remember if they can't get back inside their car! I told the manager I would not leave until they repaired it and he said "We will repair it for $200."
