First of all they did not honor the coupon, so I ended up paying the same amount without a groupon. They said they would not cover the standard filter so I had to pay an extra $20 on top of the $49 I already spent. Even though the groupon said it was covered. Then they tried to tell me I had oil leaking and my struts needed to be replaced they gave me a huge run down of everything and it came out to around $2,000. Obviously since they have already shown me they cant be trusted I wasn't going to pay to have them fix anything. I took it to the mini dealership and low and behold there was no oil leak and the struts they said needed to be replaced were just fine. If you read through these comments you can see its a common suggestion they give. I WILL NEVER TAKE MY CAR HERE AGAIN NOR WILL I RECOMMEND THEM. You know I was totally skeptical of a chain mechanic even if they're the biggest probably ? I came in here because my 2003 Camry was seizing every 10 minutes on our trip to Florida. From Los Angeles to Phoenix took us 16 hours with no exaggeration and no sleep. The manager was very cool and got me in even though there were many reservations before us. I waited about an hour to be seen. After I was holding my breathe to make sure that I wasn't going to need a new car. Thank god I didn't. They just said be careful in the heat as its sitting 96 degrees at 10 am. The other guys as well were also awesome. They even helped take my trailer off the hitch and back on for free. I am absolutely disgusted with how this business runs. My mom came in for an oil change and they completely took advantage of her. They tried to tell her there were several things wrong like she needed new tires (we just got new ones a MONTH ago) they also tried to say she needed new brake pads and rotors (which we also just replaced) so we knew for a fact, neither of those actually needed done. Then come to find out, they charged her for a full synthetic oil change but went ahead and did synthetic blend in the car AND they did NOT put enough oil in it!!!! And then to top it off, the way they're trying to force her to apply for their credit card, is absolutely ridiculous. I set up an appointment to get my oil changed for 2pm on a Saturday afternoon. The lady who set up the appointment said it would take about an hour. It is now 4:09pm, 2 hours after my appointment, and they haven't even pulled my car into the shop yet. Guy in the front said they got "busy". TL;DR A "10 minute" oil change-by their estimate-took 2 hours and 28 minutes. And they lost my car key. Make sure you have time (and a key) to spare. I made an appointment a week in advance for 8:30 in the morning for an oil change, one hour after they open. The estimate for completion was one hour at 9:30. I came back at 10:35, figuring sometimes it may take a bit longer, especially with COVID cleaning restrictions, etc. When I got there, Nick Maselli, the General Manager, said that they hadn't completed the oil change because they didn't have my key and insisted that I still had it. a) You should know to get a key from the customer when they leave a car with you for an oil change b) I did not have the key and I also don't own a spare so at this point, I started to worry c) They never called to ask about a key even though he asked for my phone number and I received a text message from them confirming my contact information around 9:00 that morning. The Assistant Manager found the key within a minute of looking; at this point, they were already an hour late on the estimate THEY provided for a prebooked APPOINTMENT and Nick said the oil change would be complete in ten minutes. It took half an hour, bringing us to the 2 hours and 28 minutes at 10:58. Why provide estimates when all of them are wrong? On top of this, Nick handled the matter with complete nonchalance. No apologies, just accusations that I never provided my key. read more

With all the work that was needed, he did excellent in getting my truck back to me so I wouldn't be on foot. He went above and beyond for me and I'm very grateful. We have been using Midas for years. I was a young woman living in a not great part of Chicago and my car broke down. A friend of mine had a father who was retired from Midas corporate and said they would not let me down. He called over to the nearest location and it was a great experience from there. Well, sure, you are thinking...he called over their personally! BUT, I moved all over Illinois and eventually out to Arizona. I still take my car to the local Midas because they have never been dishonest and have always been fair. As a woman, dealing in an industry that usually takes advantage of lack of knowledge, I have never had a bad experience with a Midas. This particular AZ location actually helped me save over $1500 dollars that a dealership quoted me for fixing a headlight. A freaking headlight! It ended up being a loose wire that cost me the $25 service fee for them to look at and plug back in. My husbands car had the entire suspension system done by Midas in Illinois and recently needed repairs done in AZ. Because it was under a life time warranty, we did not pay a DIME for parts. They redid the entire system for only the cost labor. They are not gods, sometimes there are things they cannot fix easily and you need to pay fair market price. But having had such a great experience over the years means we have learned that when they do quote us something high, chances are good that if you take it someplace else for an estimate, it's going to be higher than Midas. Trust and peace of mind is something we have built with Midas over the years. Some local Midas shops are better than others and the management does play a factor, but talk with your money and get it serviced at the Midas that has the manager you work best with. #IHEARTMidas! read more

I have been to this shop twice in the last two months from coupons I found on Groupon. The first was for an alignment which they did not couldn't bring the car into 100% alignment (due to my son hitting a curb there was more damage) so they refunded my money and knocked $150 of the repair bill. Then I came for an oil change. They replaced my oil with full synthetic oil and the filter at no extra charge because it wasn't reviewed with me beforehand. Don't trust these guys. tl;dr version: They tried to scam me by telling me I needed parts I didn't. They told me my rotors and brake pads front and back needed to be replaced. All I'd come in for was the front pads. They said it was a dangerous situation and showed some numbers about how supposedly thin the rotors were. One guy told me if I kept driving on them the rotors could crack and I'd really be in trouble. I knew that when your rotors are going bad you will have uneven braking, so I was a bit suspicious, but these guys were so convincing. My rear brake pads were also not making noise so I thought I was fine, they said "they don't always make noise." (I'm pretty sure that's not true). But I don't know a lot about cars, they are the experts and you want to be able to trust people. They were very nice and acted genuinely concerned for my safety. There were two of them, and they were really strong in expressing how concerned they were. Fortunately, I didn't have the $500 or so they wanted, so I just had the front brake pads I'd planned on replaced. Fast forward ONE YEAR, everything is fine, and I've put a lot of miles on this car. My rear brake pads just now started making noise. My rotors have stayed consistent the whole time and had no problems. I've since learned that the way rotors are made it's not a big deal at all if they crack, and that takes an awful lot. read more

They did my shocks, struts, spark plugs, all fluids and oil change, new wiper blades and a full inspection for what Mazda was going to charge just for shocks, plus I got a lifetime guarantee. The manager Nick is super knowledgeable and friendly, he'll help with all your questions, he knows his stuff. There was no wait and service was fast and excellent, they even paid for a Lyft to take me to work and pick me up when my car was done. I mostly come here for the Groupon deals for oil changes, but I would never get my car repaired here. The manager told me that I had something wrong with my car and it needed to be repaired ASAP. The repair would cost close to $400. I went to another Midas shop and they told me that I did not need to do that repair and my car would run for a long time without it. I used a coupon for a tire rotation and oil change. I was told my car needed a right axle replacement because it was leaking and a new power steering motor for over $1000. I brought my car over to its dealer service center and spent $120 for another opinion. NEITHER parts needed replacement. The axle normally leaks a little grease which may have confused the mechanic but no excuse for the motor failure diagnosis. They cost me $120 and I can't recommend Midas. Bob F. Addendum: The manager of Midas, Nick, called and he had investigated the situation above. He spoke with the mechanic who had noticed oil on the power steering pump and grease on the axle. The ideal situation would have been to clean off the material and re-inspect the vehicle in the the near future. Nick promised to compensate me with 4 free future oil changes. More importantly he convinced me that his shop wants to maintain the highest standards and also apologized for the error. The Midas store manager handled the situation very professionally and possessed a customer centered attitude about service. I accepted his explanation and apology and I plan to take my cars to this facility for future service. read more

Store manager Nick M. has below-poor customer service skills. I'm not the first person to say so--check other reviews on Yelp and Google. Though his personality is likable, he has a habit of blaming customers for issues that his team has while working on a vehicle. He fails to apologize for extended wait times, instead choosing to debate and explain away his team's inability to maintain a tight schedule, thus delaying multiple customers' schedules. When I tried to explain that a special on the company website did not specify certain aspects of a service (which I thoroughly researched the day before), he again argued and threatened to refuse service--for a simple complaint which he clearly had not researched himself. A simple "sorry that it's unclear, but we don't do that here" would have sufficed--it's called customer service. Please train Nick on professionalism and taking responsibility or replace him with someone more deserving and suited for management. Incidentally, Kristin, the front desk girl, is very nice and did a great job, as did the mechanics. read more

I think this may have been the worst experience I've ever had with a business. Took my car in for an alignment (bmw 335is) after I got new tires. After 45 mins of handing keys over at time of appointment, one of the employees randomly takes my car for a "test drive". Nothing was mentioned about a test drive prior. When the employee finally arrives from his joyride he's flying through the parking lot , driving it like it's stolen. Completely unprofessional. Imagine what he's doing on the open road for 10 minutes.. finally they pull it on a rack & 1 1/2 hour later they come to me with a $2000 recommended bill for repairs. I deny all & confirm I just want an alignment. All said & done finally 2 1/2 hours later we're good to go, I thought. Check engine light is now on in my car for the first time ever since the employee's joyride. Mr. Numbnuts at the front office had nothing but excuses, along with the lady working there. Long story short I practically came here hoping for an alignment but ended up wasting hours out of my day just for a kook employee to drive my car to its limits & break something. To top it off, they didn't even do an alignment as my car feels the exact same. Overall just simply amazed this big of a franchise can be so unprofessional & the fact I have to spend money on another alignment & now to fix whatever is causing the CEL. Awesome. He even spoke with management to try to match a coupon I had. Manager Nick also listened to my concerns and gave an additional savings. Thumbs up for that! It took about an hour, oil change and tire rotation which is about the same I have always experienced. Don't you just love cars ... that is, right up until something goes wrong with them. I feel exactly the same way. In fact, the feeling of sheer and utter dread overcomes me when I hear grinding noises coming from the front end of the car, despite my best attempts to keep up with rigorous maintenance schedules, oil changes, etc. Well, that was the case for me yesterday as I started to drive my car around sunny Chandler while running some errands. So, I zipped over to see the guys at Midas on Autoplex (take the Elliot exit on 10 and turn right at Autoplex -- Midas is on your right side, behind the car wash and gas station). The guys were really friendly and helpful, taking my car right away to conduct an oil change and front-end check. They found the problem quickly and provided me with a reasonable estimate of the repair costs. I called around a few other places and found their price hard to beat. They completed the job within the hour and called me on my cell phone to confirm my car was ready for pickup. Great service! No hassles! I really liked the facilities at this Midas. The place was quite parent-friendly, with a television for the kids, high-speed Internet and wi-fi on-site, as well as a vending machine with soft drinks, and water for those of us who prefer not to pay for our drinks wherever possible. ;-) read more

It came that time where I had to get a brake job done on my Durango. I saw a Groupon for a brake job and purchased it. When I called Midas at 9 AM, Tom the manager said he could get me in right away if I came over. I also told him I'd purchased the Groupon as well. He informed me UP FRONT that the Groupon only covers slapping brake pads on it! That it would cost more if the rotors needed turned, etc... I acknowledged that as I guess MOST people don't understand that? SMH Upon arrival Tom got it right up on the rack and they immediately found a fuel leak, that I knew was there but didn't know the severity of the leak. Come to find out it was the Fuel pump that is IN the Fuel tank, so they had to drop the tank etc... I got outta there for what I'd say is definitely a FAIR price with Lifetime warranty on my Ceramic Brake pads and a 90 days on the labor and 1 year on the Fuel pump! Upon inspection they found my Rear brakes were still good and didn't need changed, so they didn't try to gouge me with extra bullshit that wasn't necessary to do. TERRIBLE AND IRRESPONSIBLE!!!! DO NOT GO TO THIS STORE UNLESS YOU WANNA RUIN YOUR CAR I got oil change and tire rotation at this store about a year ago as first time. After I got oil change, I could feel that when I slow down car is kinda vibrating. I thought there is a problem on brake pad, so I went to Brake Masters at that time. And they told me that the a lug nut was missing. And this store was the last place where I got service on my tires. That means they didn't tighten it enough, therefore the lug nut got missed during driving. This is obviously their fault. So, I went back to the store to claim this, but the manager (whoever has lots of tattoos) just said, there is no way to prove it but since I was saying that it's their fault, he can give me 4 free oil change coupons. He seemed not want to talk with me and trying to avoid the responsibility, I just took it. And then I went the store with the coupons about 2 times and on 04/26/18, I got the last oil change with tire rotation at there before I moved to Texas. And about 2 weeks ago, I got oil change at a store in Austin. And the mechanic told me one of the lug nut is stripped, so he can't take one of the tires. He told me that it's caused by someone whoever installed that tire and he might over tightened it. So, I called back to the store in Arizona and talked to the manager. However, the manager told me it's not their fault and that's caused by the mechanic in Austin store. He told me that it's because the mechanic used wrong size of air-gun which doesn't make sense at all. He was just trying to avoid responsibility because he knew that I have to get replaced with stud and it'll be costed about $90 at dealership. Since I heard two different things from Midas in Arizona and the store in Austin, I went to Subaru dealership to ask about it. What I heard from the dealership is that whatever the Midas guy told is bullshit and it's 100% that store's fault. He said exactly same thing with Austin store. So, I called multiple times to the store in Arizona to talk about it, but the manager just told me same thing and he finished conversation by himself and just hung up. And there is nothing else I can do and I don't think that I have to pay the cost to replace the stud because it's their fault. bottom line, I was in serious danger when the lug nut was missing cuz I couldn't notice that. I don't wanna imagine the situation that tire gets falling apart during driving. Also, I have a problem on tire what I have to deal with and the cost is about $90 at the dealership. I'm very disappointed about this experience with Midas store in Tempe, AZ and I wanna claim this. The service provided here was PHENOMENAL. I called originally to price check a quote I received somewhere else. After getting Drew on the phone I went a head a booked the appointment. The repair was half the price of the original quote but what sealed the deal was Drew's customer service. He was extremely pleasant and listened to detail what I was looking for. I went to take my car in and was able to take it home within the time frame that was given. My car ran so smooth I'm sure the excitement was on my face when I drove home. I came into Midas to get a alignment done because my mechanic just replace all of the arms for the suspension and new set of tires but didnt have a alignment machine. So everything was fresh and new under but out of align because of what was done for the suspension. I went down to Midas to get everything stright once they where finished with the alienment the owner/GM informed me that they cant fully align it because their is somthing wrong on the right back side like a Hub, Control arms, or frame being bent then went on with the price to fix the issue would cost around $1600 and then showed me financing options in order to fix what is causeing my toe to point -.81 on that rear right side. They informed me that they max out the toe screw as far as they can to get it to come out and to me this didnt make any sense so I tried to argue tue fact that its because everything is out of whack and every arm needs to be changed because what was done to the suspension on the car. Everything been replace besides shocks and struts but should align without issue. They informed me somthing is bent and this is causeing the issue to be in the way it is. They tried to show me but im no alignment specialist to know exactly what im looking at. They said they aligned the car the best they can and made me pay for the alignment. I left with the rear right side all the way pointrd in thinking that their was somthing wrong like they said. So I went home and noticed my brand new tires in the back where getting worn out badly so I went to a used tire shop to have used tires placed on until I can get this issue fixed so I dont completed destroy my new tires. Durring this process I went through 4 used tires in 1-2 week. I took the time to replace the Hub like they said and no change to the angle and toe. Then I replace 2 control arms check and angle and toe saw no change. I only had 1 more control arm left and im iching my head confused so I took it to my mechanic and he replaced that last arm. we didnt see any change to the angle and toe? After this my mechanic was confused we didnt see any bends with any of the parts we replaced. We go back to the bolt that midas said they max out and learned they max it out in the wrong direction to cause that massive negative toe of -0.81. When my mechanic replaced that rear suspension part he marked a line in the bolt before I went to Midas last week and informed me thats where he left it then showed me where midas placed the bolt forceing the wheel to toe in like it was. My mechanic starts to bring the toe screw out for that wheel and turns it the other direction and guess what the wheel toe and angle came out like their was nothing wrong. When my mechanic replaced that part in the back he marked it before heading to Midas and You can evendently see where midas put that toe screw after the fact making it more in a negative for its toe. My mechanic also informed me he sent another customer down to this location and similar issue with them trying to upsell and say somthing is wrong with their alignment in order to sell to them but those customers went elsewhere and got it aligned no issue. This whole process caused me to spend around $600 in repairs that never needed to happen if midas wasnt trying to use their alignment machine as a way to scam and upsell their customers to replace parts that are perfectly fine. None of this would had to happen. I Went down to pepboys and showed them what they did and they kindly confirmed that this should never had happen at Midas and what they did was completely backwards. Pepboys was able to align without issue. My mechanic and pepboys confirmed everything Midas did was wrong and a way to get me to come back after I burnt through my tires to be forced to fix it at their shop. I have my mechanic, Pepboys, Tire shop, photos and videos of the situation. Please investigate this so no one ever has to go through what I went through. Please and thank you. read more
