First time going to Babbitt and I was very impressed! Called ahead of time to set up an appointment, got to the shop and I ended up going to the wrong location as they have multiple. They said no problem we can still get you in today. Which I thought wasn't a big deal because their other location wasn't far but it was convenient! They only had my car for a couple hours, called me and told me a couple of things it would need as they did a free inspection (without trying to upsell me on useless items). Told me information on my car I hadn't known previously which was very nice. They also washed my car as it was dirty from a storm a day or 2 prior. After a bad experience at the dealer, we took our car here for a second opinion. Brad was great and looked at our list of "critical" repairs from the dealer (about $15k worth on a well-maintained car valued at $10k). After a quick diagnosis (maybe an hour - compared to the 24 hours the dealer took), we had an estimate of around $1300 for the actual critical item on the list. They were able to get my BMW X3 into alignment when a dealer I took it to was saying they were unable to align it, and that a strut was bent, and that I might be in the $3000 range to fix it. I took a BMW i3 for pre-purchase inspection here. People were kind to say, "This is a clean car. There is nothing wrong. You are good to go." It sounded too optimistic, so I brought the vehicle to the BMW Chapman. Of course, "the dealer" found all tiny things, including some critical issues, such as the bent of two wheel rims that caused vibration at high speed. Took my 87 BMW to this location because it failed the pressure test at emissions. The staff was friendly and very up front about pricing, and although not cheap- still affordable. My "look into" charge went toward any repairs that were needed, so that was cool. When I dropped my car off, they offered me a free ride home since I was alone and lived close by, and they wouldn't get to my car until later in the day. I got a safe and 100% not creepy ride back to my house, which was awesome. The next day I received a call from Brad (this guy is top notch) explaining all the things that were found, and how much it would cost before repairing anything. I picked it up same day, and ran it back through emissions. It failed again. Seemed pretty sketchy to me, since the emissions guys didn't seem to know what they were doing... were rude and looked confused about an 80's import. When I called back to make another appointment with Brad, he explained that they would take a look at it right away free of charge. I dropped it back off, and on further inspection the crew found no issues, so THEY took it to emissions. Turns out, the emissions staff wasn't running the test correctly. The mechanic who drove my car there ran the test HIMSELF, AT EMISSIONS. It passed. Brad explained that it may have passed the first time around without the simple hose replacement that I ended up getting- and to boot the mechanic fought to not get charged for the second retest. Emissions didn't charge him. So- I replaced a janky hose and passed emissions for a totally reasonable price. What kinda shop drives a car to emissions and fights with the dudes to do their job properly??? THESE GUYS DO. I was floored. 10/10 will take my old BMW back here for any future repairs. Well, these guys truly deserve it. If you drive a BMW you have probably had those mini heart attacks at the dealer when you took in your vehicle for a scheduled maintenance (or God forbid with a check engine light on) . I have been coming to these folks for about a year now and always had a pleasant experience. They explain everything, are courteous and professional and their rates are reasonable. They do not offer a loaner when you drop off the car but given the level of service they provide, I cannot and will not take away a star for that. Now, paying over $400 for a battery change is a different battle that I should be fighting with the manufacturer for. On second thought, they didn't send me an invite to come buy their vehicle. I had recently purchased a 2000 BMW 528i. After buying the car I noticed a gas smell. I immediately brought the car into a BMW dealer for analysis. Not only did I have a gas leak, but the analysis came back with over $4000 in repairs. I was in shock. I had heard from several folks about Babbitt Motor Werks in Tempe. One of the friends had told me he drove all the way from the West side in Phoenix because no other BMW shop was expert on BMW's like Babbitt Motor Werks. Another friend told me they did stellar work and were realistic in their pricing. I took the car into Babbitt, I spoke with Nathan the owner and Dane. The service was far beyond what I had expected. The work was indeed stellar as I was told. These guys know their business. I had such a sense of relief after speaking with them. They assured me that the things I needed done on my car were normal repairs based on the mileage. After getting the car back you could tell right away that there were major improvements done. Dane had detailed out all of the work that was completed and went over it with us line by line. To say we were really happy with the work is an understatement. These guys always take care of my 2002 E46 with 190k. Brad is friendly and let's you know details of any problems they find vs the dealership just throw numbers at you. I have been going here for 4 years and recommend them to all BMW owners. This last time I went there for brakes and they told me all the wear on both front and back and did not try to sell me on 4 brakes when only 2 were needed.
