Found this place on Yelp, looking for Mercedes specialist. I was not disappointed. Called, explained problem, a check engine light. Made appointment and brought it in. 4 hours later they called me, all fixed. Replaced a faulty sensor and reset everything. Fair price! No BS! This is my new place to maintain my finely maturing Mercedes. ( Imagine a 2 ton sedan that is faster 0-60 than most Porsches). read more

I was referred to Star Service when I purchased my 2007 SL550. They specialize in older European cars and they're amazing! They do great work and I totally trust them to fix my car at a reasonable price. I've had my car for two years and they take care of everything for me. They do my oil changes and let me know when it's due for the next oil change. They top off all the liquids and check out everything else while I'm there. Don't plan on hanging out there while they work on your car. There's really not a place to sit. I usually Uber to Starbucks 2 miles away. Today I walked 1/2 a mile to Better Buzzed coffee shop and it was a perfect place to get my work done. I 100% recommend Star Service! They're great! read more

These guys are the best. They did all the work on my s class when i lived in AZ. Never charged me for something i didnt need but kept up on maintenance at every oil change so my car would always be running perfectly. Paid half as much than a benz dealership with just as good of service. Thank you guys! read more

In and out within a few hours. Problem solved. Reasonable charge. I would return if needed. read more

I have been taking Mercedes here for 20 years and always trust the honesty and the capability of Jerry and Si. Pricing is reasonable and I know the work has been done right. Thank you guys. read more

excellent work he is amazing! Very reasonable And honest I have been using him for years 8

Unfortunately I parted ways with my previous Mercedes shop that my family has been using for 30 years. As much as I hate to say it, had I known Star Service along w/ Jerry and his crew were out there in Tempe (which is on the other side of town for me) I would have done it a long time ago. Jerry and Si fixed an idle problem that no one had seemed to be able to fix for the last 20 years, fixed an A/C leak, fixed the brake system and did some other work for me all at a very reasonable cost. I should also mention, they did replace and fix several minor issues they came across while working on the vehicle at NO COST! I can't recommend these guys enough and from now on, I'll be making the drive to Tempe when I need any work done on this car. read more

If you drive a Mercedes and need a shop to go to that you can trust, this is the place to go. These guys are the best. Si, Kyle, and Jerry are amazing. If I could give them ten stars I would. I honestly don't know what I would do without their help. Thank you guys for everything, I purchased a used sl500 and have had several issues with it, these guys were my hero's. read more

I called them not realizing that they only service Mercedes. They still took the time to direct me to someone else who could assist me. I new to Arizona so this was so valuable. I was treated so well even though I didn't have the right vehicle to be their customer which says so much about how they must treat the people who are! read more

Have been having my cars fixed by Kyle since 1998. Kyle has been working with Si and Jerry since around 2007. Always do the right thing. German cars are expensive to fix and very hard to fix right. Always completely satisfied with their work and service. Their prices are the lowest in the valley. read more

I have been taking my car here for repairs and any concerns I have with my car. The gentleman up front who has worked on my car is very nice and super helpful. Anytime i have a concern he tries to help me over phone and provides great advice that wont hurt my wallet. He is very reasonable and tries his best to help out any way he can by providing quality work and reasonable pricing. He does not try to upsell you or try to make you spend large amount of money of parts for your car. I am really glad I found this shop and has definitely been a trustworthy one! read more

Honest and reliable. Had another place tell me I needed parts and they told me I did not need them. So glad I was referred to this place. Won't take my car anywhere else. read more

First - Star Service is my absolute go to place from now on. #1 in my book. I had taken my 99 C230 Kompressor to 2 other shops one especially several times to fix whatever was causing my check engine light and both failed me. My 1st trip to Star service was a winner winner chicken dinner, not only did they find the issue by doing all the needed diagnostics, they didn't charge me, sensing how frustrated I was by the other shops and the $ I had poured out previously. I will be coming to Star service for all my cars needs from here on out and highly recommend to anyone who wants great service and honest mechanics performed. read more

If you own a BMW or Mercedes, don't take it anywhere else. These guys are the best. Just had a clutch replaced. Price was fair service was really fast. These guys are true mechanics that seem to love what they do. I have had both my Mercedes and BMW worked on at this shop and both service sides are equally good. read more

These guys are the best! I have gone to them for decades - anytime our factory warranty expires on our Mercedes.

As a shop owner (and a collector of classic european cars), I am extremely particular about my automobiles. I have lusted over a classic Mercedes SL since my high school days and found what appeared to be a low mile car in the Phoenix area. The gentleman selling, while not a car person, tried to be as thorough as possible and emailed several pictures over. I've learned not to commit with pictures alone. I cannot emphasize enough the importance of a "pre purchase" inspection on any used car, regardless of the marque. After a google search, I was fortunate enough to find Star Service to perform a pre-purchase inspection on a 1989 560SL. They were very thorough and provided a comprehensive list of concerns on the car. I had also been told that the paint was all original and Star noted evidence of paintwork on the hood and rear quarter panel. I cannot believe that a shop was so thorough for a very minimal charge. They saved me from buying what could have been an endless money pit. Their passion for the cars is clearly obvious, they love what they do and will give you the most precise and expert opinion. If only they were in southern California!! Cheers to the great work! read more

Hi everybody. I just want to say that these guys are the best!! They bend over backwards to help you, with whatever you need done to your car, If it's something that they don't do, they tell you. They aren't out to take your money. They are about pleasing you, by doing the best they can. I recommend them. They are down to earth good guys and have always gone out of their way for me.I have a 1998 Black Mercedes 280 C and it's my baby and they take great care of it. I give them 5 stars. I used this Mercedes shop for a long time when the prior owner, Nick, was the owner. Nick had excellent customer service skills besides being a very successful business person. Unfortunately, he decided to retire and no longer is affiliated with Star Service. I have brought my Mercedes recently to Star Service and dealt with "Jerry", the current owner/Manager. There's a reason Star Sevice does JUST A FRACTION of the business eds it used to do. it's because Jerry lacks greatly in the decorum and classiness Nick possessed. Nick had a cashier who was also a real gentleman. I will NEVER return to Star Service. They did a mediocre job on my car. Make sure to go to other German- European mechanics in the East Valley. Any one of them is FAR better than "Star"! read more

I have 2 older mercedes and one of them was nearing a transmission rebuild. One of my neighbors had a 450SL that she had taken there for years and told me she trusted them implicitly. I called and asked about key updates that need to be done on 722.303 transmissions when rebuilding. The Transmission guy ( Kyle ) told me exactly what I needed to know. So, I took it in. The quote Jerry gave me was spot on. My 1983 300SD now shifts like a new one! And, there were NO surprises! In my 62 years I have dealt with some pretty sharp mechanics, and charlatans who call themselves experts in the automotive field. These folks are the real McCoy. FLAT OUT HONEST AND extremely knowledgeable! This place will get all my business going forward! read more

Was in a little bind with being taken advantage of by another shop and Star Service was my last try to see if they could help with my mbz. Jerry was excellent in helping my get my car in, work with my insurance and get the car up and running very quickly. Glad to have stumbled on this shop. It will be my first choice from now on for my mbz. An honest and kind shop and staff. Thank you all very much! (PS, for your other German brand needs, there are next to Porsche to and BMW) read more

I'm writing a review and they didn't even work on my car! I've got an '84 gray market SL with the non-standard (for this car) inline six. It failed the DOT emissions test. I called these guys to fix it. That is like opening your wallet and telling a mechanic to start pulling $100 bills out of it. The guy on the phone says, "Tell ya what I'd do, I'd get ahold of my insurance company, insure the car as a collectible, and nobody's sending you another emissions testing notice ever again." Now, that's an honest mechanic to turn down a profitable job! So I did what he said. It worked! They have a customer for life now. read more

After moving from San Diego to Tempe, my 2006 C class had a message about the coolant. Called Star Service and they looked at my car, found it wasn't the coolant but the fan behind the air. Si explained to me that unfortunately the part couldn't be cheaper (I appreciated that he mentioned cost, as most mechanics don't, and recognized that I would want the best, cheapest part when available) but that it would be done that afternoon. I appreciate the hard work the shop put into my car, thanks guys! read more

Great place with excellent service and prices. My 81' 300d needed a valve adjustment, so I called in, they gave me a quote over the phone, and I dropped it off the next day without any wait. The car runs perfect now, and they also adjusted my transmission. This is the best place i have taken my car to. I've also send a friend there, and he is as happy, as I am! read more

Over my wife's objections, I have held onto a 1990 300CE that I bought new... for misguided sentimental reasons. Until recently it has become of love hate relationship. If the dealership is even willing to work on it their cashier gives me a bill wearing a mask and holding a gun. Other "Mercedes specialists" have been hit and miss... mostly miss. So far Star Service has been a different experience. Jerry seems to be very knowledgeable about my car and it's profound problems. His charges have been reasonable and he is cautious about throwing money into a car that is no longer is the high five digits. read more

We've referred several customers with MBZ issues beyond our diagnostic capabilites to Star Service and they have always done a great job. Way cheaper than the dealership, great service and honest. read more

What can I say, this is the exception... A Mercedes mechanic shop whose best interest is the customer, NOT the money they can rip them off with. Jerry was great on the phone and in person. I took my 2001 ML320 in to diagnose my issues (BAS ESP ABS) light and he did a great job taking care of it. Honest, reliable and just good people. read more

Been going to see Si and Jerry and everyone for years for my wife's ML320 and I have to say they are the very best independent service operation we have ever discovered. They're smart, and experienced and honest. They spend your money like it was their own. What more can you ask for? I feel like buying a used Mercedes just to have more occasions to do business with them! (We split our time between LA and Phoenix by the way.) read more

i took my 2002 c240 mercedes to star service because i had a rattling noise under my car. they let me know what was wrong with my car and how much it would cost. they were pretty awesome! my car was done quickly and they fixed little things without even charging me for it. they were professional, courteous and they didn't try to upsell me what i didn't need. because of that i will be back when my car needs service. i was very impressed with them and i highly recommend them if you need to have your mercedes serviced. previously i had to take my car to a mercedes dealership.... had a horrible experience, never again...it's star service for my car!!!! highly rcommend. read more

Star Service, Si, Jerry, & the whole team have been the BEST at advising, repairing, customer service & cost. I cannot say enough about these guys! THEY HAVE GREAT INTEGRITY!! I don't like having my car(s) out of commission, but when it happens I am PLEASED to have a CAR M.D. that has exceptional bed-side manner. If I could do one thing different at Star, I would gift them with new lobby furniture :). THANK YOU EVERYONE @ STAR SERVICE, as you guys are what turn problems into solutions with smiles. read more

The Best Mechanic's I've ever dealt with. I've got an older "94" Mercedes E420. I was about to just let it go. I thought I'd have Cy and the guys check it out one last time. It had been parked for 2 years. Cy drove it himself and put it through Emissions, it Pasted!!!! He drove it just to make sure everything is OK. I kept on asking if it's the Transmission and he kept telling me it's OK. Others may have taken advantage of a girl like me but not Star Service. They are 100% trust worthy I would not take my car anywhere else. Be sure to go and see for yourself and leave your own review when your done. Thank you to everyone at Star Service! I appreciate you! read more

I have had the pleasure of owning 7 W140's, including 3 Coupe's, as well as 1 W220 over the past 8 years. Si, Jerry and the crew have always done an OUTSTANDING job servicing these vehicles for me. They have also taken the time to explain the proclivities of some these vehicles, like the quirks the Coupe's have and why. They have done everything from an oil and filter change to changing all the fluids, filters, gaskets, brakes, major tun-up, and diagnosing and repair various suspension issues, and the pneumatic doors and trunk system. They have always done an AWESOME job. They are honorable, have integrity and are not afraid to tell you the truth, a rarity in today's marketplace. And as a bonus, their prices and the BEST! I would and do HIGHLY recommend Star Service to all M/B owners I know and meet. read more

Jerry is the best! He does all he can to keep costs down and is great with the repairs. He has made the restoration of my 300D a dream with his hard work. He goes above and beyond with the service he has provided to me since I first took my car to his facility. I honestly believe people should buy a used Mercedes that needs repairs just so they can have the ability to interact with Jerry. I tell as many people as I can about the shop so they can know how much money they will be able to save and the level of service they will receive. If you read this review and are wondering where to take your Mercedes...take it to this service center. I am not sure words can convey the esteem I hold for Jerry and his business read more

It doesn't get better than this shop, they've cared and loved my 87 560SEL for a few years, fixing everything from a transmission rebuild, to a bent seat. Truly honest mechanics, very competitive pricing, and they know Mercedes better than anyone in the valley. Thanks Jerry, and Si! read more

Brought my Mercedes here for brakes. The best, fair price and great communication. They went above & beyond. Thanks Jerry!!!

One of the best place they are so honest and do the best job on fixing the car and not like other people that say leave the car and we will contact you after taking a look at it and then charge alot read more
