They resurface the rotors on my 2023 kia I told them there was something wrong with the brakes, and they determined that the rotors needed to be resurfaced. I have come here a few times already and have been happy with them. So far they have changed a cv boot and done a oil change a couple of times. Their prices are reasonable and they seem to be honest. If something isn't absolutely necessary they will not push it. I came in for new spark plugs and they told me it wasn't necessary. Most mechanics would have took my money anyway so I am grateful for the honesty. I think they have the best waiting room i have ever seen in a mechanics place. They have so many different snacks, sodas and a tv. All the snacks and drinks are free. They open at 7:30am if you don't want to wait too long come as close to open as possible cause it's first come first serve. I am here for a coolant leak today and hopefully I continue having a good experience. I think they will be able to tell where my leak is without a pressure test cause it pretty much leaks instantly as soon as you top off the coolant and turn the car on. Even if they do charge the $140 pressure test charge I won't mind as long as they find the leak and fix it. I think one of my belts might be ready to be changed so we will see what they say about that as well. I will update with more info on feedback on today's service later on but so far this is the best mechanic I have been to since my last mechanic retired. It took a while to find another one I could trust and places like mineake and stuff like that that is corporate have not done me well but this place is apparently a mom and pops place that is doing things right. I will continue to come here as long as they keep doing right by me. I have been telling my coworkers to come here as well cause it's hard to find good honest mechanics these days. + 6 Stars from me! We all hate having to deal with auto repairs. Unless of course you know a mechanic, or have one in the family. Sadly neither of those options work for me. . I started to notice a tire shake with a rattling, almost spray can like when I braked or hit bumps. Sounded to me like a CV joint. This would also show itself when going between 70-80 mph. Talked with the service center where I purchased my camry about repair/replace options. They let me know they would have to dig into it and then send it to the claim folks to see if it is covered. Warranty was purchased with it. Set up a day to have it checked and the axle replaced. Few hours after dropping the car off they called and let me know that the axle was fine. Wanted $398.00 to open and look in the dash for the rattle. Picked up my car and was SO excited to hear the same thing when hitting bumps. (not really) Researched top auto repair shops in Tempe and found Interstate Auto Repair. Read some of the reviews, and noticed they did really well at catching things dealerships/others had missed. (or are just better) So I decided to see if they could take a look at my situation and solve the mysterious rattle. Was greeted by Rainy who took down all of my car's symptoms and let me know the day's/time free. Asked about going on a test drive with them to show the issue (could not with dealership). Was told that would be no problem and works better as we know our cars. Came back at the time they could see me, and meet Jeremy. We went for a test drive and saw/heard the issues. When we got back, he checked one more thing and gave me his thoughts. - Tire shake from balancing issue - Brake shake from small warping - Steering shaft coupler (in dash) Asked about a brake check, which he performed right then. Now I could take it to the dealership and get it repaired under warranty. Thanked him and asked what the bill was, to which he said nothing. No Seriously. Earned my business. Which is why when I pick my car up from the dealership today I am going to see them again. Need to book a service, dash inspection. The dealership called and let me know that after replacing the part, it still makes that noise. Which means I spent $200 to replace a good part Am confident they will find the issue and not bullshit me or run me up on pricing. I called on Monday to inquire about getting my transmission fluid replaced and my filter changed. This was the second repair shop I contacted about servicing my fluid. I spoke with Jeremy (I believe that was his name) and he explained that my car did not have a filter that needed to be changed for the transmission. The first shop quoted me a price range of $200-500, but Jeremy said it would most likely be around $200 in total. I immediately trusted him and appreciated learning something about my car. As a woman, I often feel like mechanics try to take advantage of me, so I always call around and compare what they say with what I read online. I made an appointment to have my car serviced on Wednesday and was able to drop off my keys in their drop box the night before, on Tuesday evening. Around 9:20AM the next day, I received a quote via text message from Rainy, who works at Interstate Auto Repair. The quote included the cost of my transmission fluid and also mentioned a couple of additional items, such as my windshield wipers and a minor leak in my water pump. That, my friends, is why I am glad to have chosen Interstate Auto Repair, a family-owned automotive shop in Tempe. If you'd prefer remarks over my loquacious review, just look at what everybody else has to say. Evidently, the folks at Interstate come recommended highly, and during my 9/23/19 visit, I got to see why first-hand. Despite having recently changed and aligned my tires, I still felt my CR-V struggled through a bumpy, jerky ride. And with an 800-mile road trip around the corner, I wanted to ensure our travels would be as smooth and safe as possible. So, after some friendly exchanges on Yelp Messenger and a phone call, I scheduled an 8:00 A.M. safety maintenance inspection to get my car a clean bill of health. We arrived at about 7:45 A.M. on Monday morning. Keith welcomed us at the front desk, checked in my car, and made the waiting area available for the duration of the inspection. A photo is attached; it's a cozy room with a TV, snacks, drinks, and plenty of seating. Before an hour had elapsed, Keith returned to advise that though my car was in good shape, there were a few services he suggested for a smoother road trip. Of the three he proposed, I elected the tune-up, which upon some reflection, I realized I hadn't gotten for my car in a few years... go figure. Another hour later, and my car had its spark plugs replaced and throttle body cleaned. To my surprise and appreciation, they omitted the safety inspection from the grand total, which itself didn't even break the bank. Overall, I couldn't have asked for a better experience. Interstate was true to their word about quotes, wait times, and the health of my vehicle. Best of all, that initial drive out of the parking lot was one of the smoothest and most fortified I've had in a long time. I am now especially confident about our upcoming journey on the open road. I'd been calling around to different shops to see if anyone in town could service my Jeep Grand Cherokee EcoDiesel. My exhaust filter had gotten full because I let my DEF levels get too low. This has happened to me before. One of the down-sides of having a diesel engine, as you have to keep on top of that. Anyway, I didn't want to take it to the dealership because you know how expensive that can get. Not too many shops know how to perform this service it turns out. When I called Interstate, I got a hold of Jeremy, one of their mechanics, and told him what I needed. He informed me that he hadn't done this work on a Jeep before, but he'd done similar service on a Ram vehicle. He actually suggested that I could probably clear it up myself and outlined how I could do it. I thought to myself that this guy seemed interested in solving my problem more than trying to make money. This instilled trust and confidence in him and the shop. After doing what he suggested, the warning on my dashboard didn't go away, so I decided to take my vehicle into their shop. When I got there, I spoke with Jeremy again. He said that since he hadn't done this on a Jeep before and couldn't guarantee a successful outcome, he would perform the service for free. How could I turn that down? He got the VIN of my car and looked up the procedure on how to perform the service. He then took the time to explain to me what was involved and how long it would take. Again, this type of transparency gave me confidence and faith in what he was doing. After about 45 minutes, the procedure was complete and he let me know that it appeared to clear the warning. Jeremy told me to give him a call if there was still a problem. I drove it home and it ran perfectly. I was a happy customer. Although it's a bit of a drive to Guadalupe from Phoenix, I will definitely be taking my car to this shop if ever I need service again. Outstanding customer service. Impeccably clean facility. Me and some friends went to Mexico a couple of weeks ago, and on our way home the weather took a turn for the worst and did a number on the highway we were driving on. The highway eventually became flooded in multiple areas, about 1-2ft deep of running water, and we had to make the difficult decision to push through some tough puddles as we didn't feel safe pulling to the side for the night as so many card were hydroplaning off the road. After that night, I was horrified that there would be damage to my car and I made an appointment at Interstate to get everything looked at. (The car was driving fine, but I wouldn't have been surprised if there was long-term damage, etc.) The folks at Interstate were great and immensely helpful. They listened to my concerns, asked plenty of questions about what happened during that drive, how the car felt/sounded immediately after, etc. Being a younger female, it's hard to find a shop that I don't feel pressured at or that doesn't take advantage of me.
