Everyone was incredibly friendly from the receptionist that made my appointment to the mechanic. I had went to another garage prior to this one and they had told me my car needed new brake pads. Imagine my surprise upon coming here when they informed me I still had around 9 months left before they would have to be replaced. They could have easily just replaced them and charged me and I would never have known. Had work done over 2 years ago. The work was top notch. The issue is they sold or gave my email to telemarketers. For the last year and a half I receive emails saying Interstate Automotive(I'm not fricking Interstate Automotive) do you want a better phone service. Can we set up an appointment with you. I reply STOP but they continue to come at least one a week sometimes more. So be careful about giving your email address. Like I said work was to notch. read more

I walked in, first thing in the morning as they opened. The man at the front desk was super sweet and helpful. I had asked if they could check out my car as I would be driving back to Texas and wanted to make sure my fluids and tires were alright. He took my car and about 20 mins later came back and said everything looked great, brakes and all! Absolutely amazing!! I am so grateful for Interstate Auto. I recently had a catastrophic emergency leaving me 100 miles from home and getting a tow to their shop after hours. Thinking I was going to leave my vehicle there in the parking lot a few guys actually walked out who were working after hours, they talked with me about what happened, let me put my truck in the lot, and a game plan to fix my truck in the morning. I called around mid day the next day getting told they were going to get to my truck later in the week. I went to shop to get some belongings out of my truck and it was done in the front lot completely fixed. The owner Keith, who I talked to the night before, came in early and worked through his lunch to get my truck done according to the receptionist. These are TOP NOTCH PEOPLE!! If I didn't live in a different city they would get all my business, my friends business, and anybody who I talked to who was looking for a mechanic business. Needed a timing belt job. I'm not quite that handy so I took the Elantra there. It was returned with a new never heard before belt squeal and what sounds like a bad pulley bearing. Also looks like one of the belts wasn't changed. The engine cover came back broken(I know it's cosmetic but small things like that make me wonder what else is wrong). One of the timing cover bolts is also missing. They knew the car was coming back and as soon as my wife walks in they start trying to cover up things. I get that things happen sometimes. Just own up to it. Be honest. I would have been much happier if this place was just honest from the beginning. Also still missing that bolt. I can't recommend this place since I can no longer trust that it'll be done properly. read more

My car is a 2002 Toyota Avalon. I researched for a month reading reviews of other establishments. I love that Interstate Auto is a family owned business. Daughter works customer service (sweetest girl ever), Dad is the main mechanic and Mom stocks the snacks and drinks for the customers, I'm sure she does a lot more than that. These people are extremely nice, honest and all around great business. I have Auto Repair establishments much closer to my home but I chose to drive 35 minutes to come here. It is well worth the little extra time and gas to bring my car to someone I trust. My 18 year old car is running as smooth as the day it came off the line. I can't attest to their work yet, but I can attest to their patience, helpfulness, and great attitudes. I towed my truck to them recently, and turned out the work needed was higher cost than the value of the truck. They could have made me tow the truck immediately once I decided not to fix it, but they allowed me to leave it for the day, and show the truck to potential buyers while it was on their lot. I had a good experience here. I had a flat tire and came here to get it patched, which took a few hours, no big deal. But the next day, the tire was flat again. They were apologetic about it. I came back in and they did a tire plug instead, which only took one hour, so I think they put me ahead of other appointments. They fixed the problem free of charge. The plug held, and I've driven all the way to Los Angeles and back with the plug and I've had no problems at all. It says a lot when a business gives this kind of service. 5 stars, would go here again. read more

I took my car in for a serpentine belt replacement as well as changing out the transmission and break fluids. I currently live in San Diego but often travel to the Tempe area to visit family. My very old VW GTI (2009) tossed up an engine light along with an oil leak (unknown cause). I needed to have it look over before my drive to CA. Though busy, they were very willing to look into the issue and diagnose the problem. Rainey, Jeremy and Keith (or Kevin...can't remember clearly) took great care of me. I learned it's an expensive repair and not one I need to deal with immediately. They were kind, honest, and very helpful. I feel comfortable driving home and will take care of it later. Brought my truck in because I had suspension concerns back in July 2021. I was not mechanically inclined when I had dropped off the vehicle so I didn't know too much about why my truck was making noises while going over any bumps. They were responsive and after two days they called me to tell me that I only needed to change my front struts with an alignment as well and I would be good for around $1000. When I asked if any other components needed replacing, they said everything was still good and nothing would need replacing. Flash forward to September, I brought my truck into the dealership and they gave me a LIST of things that needed to be replaced soon with photos of exactly what needed to be replaced. Upper and lower control arms, rear shock absorbers, stabilizer link bushings, sway bar link bushings, inner and outer tie rod ends and even more. When I told them that I had come here, the dealership said that for that price was too high and that if I would have came in there, they would have done it for 800! While they were quick to respond and they did exactly what I paid them to do without any issues, they did not perform a thorough inspection (mind you this truck at the time had around 176,000 miles so you know there is gonna be issues) and the price was just too high for the same work that you can get done at a dealership. I believe I found Keith's place from online reviews, and now I'm writing one about them. This place is seriously GREAT. Keith and everyone else I dealt with there were fantastic. I had the gal's car at Firestone down the street, they charged me almost $100 just for a diagnostic, and Keith's diagnostics are FREE. What's more, Firestone wanted to just go ahead and replace a mass air flow sensor ($600+) and Keith & co CLEANED it first, and noticed a vacuum leak that FIRESTONE COMPLETELY MISSED. So my turn signal knob broke and cracked at the base and my 83 yr old mom was going to borrow my car with her 83 yr old friend to go on a road trip to Tucson. My car is a 2015 Dodge Grand Caravan. I was scheduled to bring it in to this shop on Monday but my mom planned on leaving on her trip on Sunday. On Saturday I was scrambling to get this turn signal fixed so she would have it working. I wasn't expecting to loan my car to my mom so this was all last minute. I got ahold of the owner Keith and I knew they were closed on weekends but was hoping by some miracle they might be open,and Keith said they are closed on Saturday. After explaining my worry for my moms safety he offered to come in on his own and fix my turn signal so my mom could be safe. I can't say enough how wonderful I think they are. I can FINALLY say that I have found a trust worthy mechanic shop! I have been to 5 different auto shops (including the dealership) and each shop could not pin point the noise in my engine, but they would all recommend getting my engine rebuilt. I had finally given in and decided it's time to get this work done. But the minute I spoke to Keith he knew right off the back that it was not time to rebuild my engine. He took a look at it and found that it was my "o ring" and oil pan that needed to be replaced. He saved me time, money and stress by fixing this problem. I stumbled across Interstate Auto Repair while searching for a mechanic that was within a few miles of our house, and I'm so glad I did! Keith and Mary have a great crew and they will definitely take care of you. They treat your car as if it were their own. I am now a customer for life. The speedometer and gas gauge display on my 2010 Prius was out. I took it to Interstate and they spent several hours troubleshooting the problem. Keith said they could not fix the problem but referred me to a local speedometer/tachometer shop. When I picked up my car Keith just handed me the keys. I asked how much and he said "No charge". I could not believe it! Most places charge a minimum of $50 for any diagnostic work. The place I was referred to did a great job and their prices were much lower than I expected. A few weeks later I took in my 1997 Ford Ranger that had been acting up for a long time. It was sputtering during acceleration. I had taken it to some other shops and the problem would be fixed for a while but then ultimately come back. I told Keith that the problem was intermittent and to keep it as long as he needed. He drove my truck to and from work to catch the problem "in the act". I don't know of any other mechanic who would go to that length to fix a vehicle. I've had my truck back for several weeks now and haven't had one issue with it! One last story. I recently dropped off my 2010 Prius for an oil change and tire rotation as we were getting ready for a road trip. I got a call from Mary a few hours later saying that the car was ready and she told me that they also replaced the air filter. When I arrived to pick up the car I could not believe the price: $43!!! Oil change, tire rotation and an air filter. We have paid more than that for just an oil change! Interstate Auto Repair is the BEST!!! read more
