The guys at the front desk were incredibly patient and took my concerns seriously. They were honest and communicative about the work they'd be doing, and even though I had to leave my truck overnight -- I was very appreciative of how quick the return time felt! Then I got the bill.... And it was way more reasonable and fair than ANY price I had been given at other garages. I seriously wanted to shed man-tears in that lobby. Had a good experience with them. Went to head to work one morning and my truck decided to start sputtering. Called them as soon as they opened and was greeted warmly. They didnt assume anything and just took the information while filing it away for later use. They found out that I had a fuel pump issue and promptly finished and returned my vehicle too me. They were in the pricey side but they also replaced a spark plug that became damaged in the process for free and did my oil change and my truck runs great. Took my car in because there was some rattling going on with my car. The staff took a quick look and said it was due to my engine and that they were going to charge me $700+ for it. I declined and went home to do my own research and saw that it could be a problem with the heat shield being loose. I went and checked under my car, lo and behold it was a loosened heat shield fastener causing the noise. It ended up costing me $5 to repair the issue as opposed to $700. Didn't get any work done here. My issue was with the scheduling and price quoting. Called a few weeks ago for a quote on what I need done. It was about $300 cheaper than every other shop so I decide I'll take my car here. Fast forward to a few days ago, I called and asked to get an appointment on Saturday. They don't do appointments on Saturday but the guy taking the call never tells me that, he just tells me to bring my car in right when they open. I ask him if he's sure I'll be able to get in? He says totally. Get there at 7am today and they tell me they can't take my car today, unlike what the guy on the phone told me, and they also jack up the quote by $250. The business is well-run and I found them very flexible in working with me with a breathalyzer in my car, which is an annoying hurdle for a mechanic to deal with when working on a car that needs starting on and off. Long explanation. In the end my car warning light was ok and they charged me nothing. I bought wiper blades from them not just because but because they conveniently have them hanging by checkout and I had been needing some badly, a nice plus. After about a month my Camry started leaking oil again...This is most positively because of the wrong oil filter and plug that was jammed into my car by Tempe Auto Repair...they even fired the guy who did it so I can't say everyone there now is clueless but that guy definitely was. Unfortunately, when I got on the phone with them they said they fixed it to the best of their ability and I was shit out of luck basically. Real nice guys but I was hopping they could have temporarily stopped the oil leak like they did before when their guy f*ed it up. I was getting a low battery error which was strange because I bought a new battery in my home state because I knew the battery was old and I didn't know any mechanics in Tempe. I was new to the area then with the low battery error I looked Yelp and Tempe Auto Repair was close by with excellent ratings. I couldn't agree more!! They called me and told me that there was a loose negative connector cable. Whomever installed the battery didn't tighten the cable. They tightened it and didn't charge me! Recently I had to take my truck to get an oil change. While I was getting my oil changed, I was notified of a problem with my water pump. I had a crack and was leaking pink coolant all over my engine. UGH! After a recommendation from a friend and also an excellent experience with my wife's car (both Yelpers), I chose to take my truck to Tempe Auto Repair to be fixed. When my wife took her car here to fix a problem, I talked with the shop about my potential issue. I was told to bring my truck in for a look and if there was a problem to write up a quote. The diagnosis was no charge. . The staff is very professional and polite, especially Bill. The cost of the repair was around $250-275 cheaper than another quote I had received for the same work and parts. The work was completed as scheduled, same day as long as I brought my truck in before 9 am. Tempe Auto was fast, professional, and honest. I had taken the car to another shop and they said it would take a few days to fix- these guys had it done in a few hours. They said they work with lots of students/ out of state parents. (Luckily my dad was in town at the time...and I'm not even a student anymore. I am, however, a spoiled brat.) BUT, when that call back includes an apology (for what was not even the fault of the shop) and a quick, timely repair that includes giving you a break on some extra labor costs...
