Michi always hits when I have a ramen craving. The noodles, broth and toppings are all excellent quality. Their option to build your own bowl is perfect for picky tastes. I love the menma, inari and ajitama egg especially. Spicy chili oil adds the perfect kick to the tonkotsu and miso broth selection. To drink I ordered the cinnamon thai tea and it is outstanding! This location is in a mini market which is currently going through renovation. They pack the ramen to go perfectly if you decide not to stay but they have a section for dining that is pretty nice.

This place came highly from a friend who comes here often. We went on a Saturday around 7:30 and the place was empty. It's a ramen/asian food mart. We ordered Michi with regular noodles and all veggies and the meat lovers with lean pork. The meat lover was a little on the saltier side but for ramen it was good. The Michi veggie was okay, it was missing flavors. I wanted to add maybe a hot sauce or something but they only had hot chili flakes in oil. Overall for ramen it was a good spot on a chilly night.

This entire shopping center at Spicewood Springs and 183 has so much to explore. My latest venture was for a bowl of Ramen, which I'm sure would've been better on premises, but I had to take it home due to a meeting. I am a big Tsukemen fan so I got the dipping Ramen. I really enjoyed it, and could only finish about half. The noodles stuck together some, which again might not have happened if I was able to eat there. The broth was a bit salty, but they were super generous with the pork, which was easily worth the 50¢ upgrade. How does it compare to the Tsukemen at Tatsuya? I think RT still reigns well supreme, but I would have absolutely no problem ordering from Michi again. The dude working the counter was super friendly and again, I appreciated getting three full pieces of pork, which made for a filling and delicious meal.

BEST ramen we've ever had!! We found Michi by happenstance and I'm so glad we did! We couldn't decide what we wanted for dinner and prior to this we considered going out. Honey, please the best out is in my bed or in another country haha! Anywho, Michi was and is the truth! This market is a grocery store/restaurant and they know what they are doing. We placed the order online and it was a simple process. Other places we discovered made it hard to customize our orders. We had one with chicken and a few additional/subs and a veggie option. The ramen was flavorful, hot, and steamy. I've been thinking about this ramen since we left and I cannot WAIT to return! The service was lovely. They were out of the free ice cream though which was a bummer so maybe next time. The environment was that of a grocer which worked for us. I will be returning and if I could give them 10 stars I would. Enjoy!

Came here the other night with my boyfriend and we were both very impressed with this spot. Michi is inside of an Asian grocery store and is tucked away in the back. They did a nice job turning the back of the store into a restaurant space by having it be darker with some decorative ceiling coverage. I will also say that the employees were super nice, we came in close to closing so we weren't sure if they would serve us but they assured us that it was ok and the food came out fairly quick and very hot. I ordered the Sapporo ramen with diced lean pork and it was very good! The miso tonkatsu broth was good and all of the ingredients went well together. I also tried some of my boyfriend's karaage don fried chicken and it was very simple but the fried chicken was cooked very well. Overall, this is a solid spot and I will definitely be back!

This was an unassuming ramen shop with a mini grocery store inside. The store was empty when we arrived and empty when we left. We tried the Michi ramen with ajatima egg; it was delicious and generous. The takoyaki was good. My partner and I shared the bowl of ramen and the appetizer, which was filling. I'm not sure I'd be able to finish the ramen by myself.

The inside was pretty dingy, super hot inside, and random! There were shelves inside, a lot of empty space, and a random dark corner for the restaurant. The food was extremely salty. The cashier warned us about the beef donburi being salty, which seemed a little off. Every single thing we got was salty. The temperature inside was so hot, we were eating and sweating. We couldn't even finish our food, it made us SO thirsty afterwards.

This might be our new favorite ramen spot! Hidden in a dark unlit corner at the very back of an Asian market is Michi Ramen. Don't be fooled by its appearance though! There's still several small clean tables for those who choose to dine in. The same staff service both the restaurant and market, so it's a great opportunity to look around and grab some cup noodles and groceries to-go. We got the Sapporo ramen with ground pork, and the jungle ramen with spicy ground pork (pictured below). Both were good, but I loooove me some spice! So it was the jungle ramen that stole my heart. Not too hot, but not too mild, either. Just right. The flavors tasted like everything had been simmering in a pot for hours. Gave a nice warm hug to every part of my soul, and then I got to enjoy it all over again when I had enough for leftovers the next day. I also wanted to mention the to-go packaging is top tier and maybe the best I've experienced in this area! Everything was clearly labeled so that you know which broth goes with what meal. Takes the guesswork out of the equation and very helpful for those just trying something new. Keep up the great work guys!

Living on the north side of Austin has many advantages, one of which is an awesome and ever-expanding number of Asian-influenced restaurants and grocery stores. We've been enjoying Chen's Noodle shop and Asia Market in this Big Lots shopping center for years, but for some reason, we only now finally gave the newest location of Michi Ramen a try, and I know we'll be back. Now most folks who love Japanese-style ramen will know about that other famous place by the Target on 183, and yes, that one is wonderful, but (1) it's not open on Mondays and (2) it's generally crowded and hectic if you go at times when most people want to eat lunch or dinner. Michi has neither of those problems, and they serve their tasty bowls of noodle soup at around 20% cheaper. If you're looking for a low-hassle, no-frills bowl of ramen, Michi has you covered. Fun fact: Michi was actually the first ramen shop in Austin, starting with a food truck in 2012 back before either the local food truck or ramen craze got started. Just order at the counter, take your number stand, grab some utensils & water at the self-serve station, and seat yourself in the small dining area. Your food will arrive in less than 10 minutes. Being used to the other place, we were a little confused by the menu options at Michi, but the counter person was helpful in guiding us on what base and toppings to choose based on our favorite flavors and textures. It was cool to see that they also have menu items for vegetarians - noodles for everyone! For a weekday lunch, this was enjoyable, fast, and reasonably priced. If you're not in the mood for ramen, they have a few other options like Japanese curry, dumplings, and dipping noodles. Plus, there's a cute little snacks and grocery staples selection including a good variety of dried noodles and bottled sauces for when you wanna make yours at home. We'll be back! Next time, we may order in advance via Toast: https://www.toasttab.com/michi-ramen-asia-market/v3

This is located inside the Michi Market. I was initially a little put off by the appearance but still decided to give this place a try. The prices here are decent considering the recent increases everywhere. When ordering ramen, you are able to select from thickness of the soup base and the type of chashu meat. There is a small upcharge if you order with a heavier soup base. You can also add extra toppings for an additional cost. I ordered the Sapporo Ramen with the regular soup level and the diced lean pork chashu. The diced lean pork option surprised me a bit since you don't normally see that at traditional ramen shops. I gave it a try and surprisingly I enjoyed it. The ramen also had bean sprouts, corn and woodear which I absolutely loved. With a Yelp checkin, you get a free mochi ice cream which is valued at $2 based on their menu. I got the green tea one :) My only critique on this place is just how warm it was by the "restaurant" area. I was already feeling hot before my ramen came out. It was 102 degrees outside and you're serving hot ramen. My suggestion is to maybe crank up the AC a bit more or have a fan on.

    No sliced pork and egg.

Ok so this is my second day in a row as my daughter wanted to eat there. I did take out as I didn't feel like smelling the pungent odor of sewage the entire time. Unfortunately they charge me for all the add on and didn't receive any of it.

Delicious ramen in North Austin! Located inside Asia Market. It's a cute little ramen shop. The noodles are good. The broth gets a bit salty as you get to the bottom of the bowl. Pricing is very affordable. It doesn't include the soft brown eggs so if you want it, you'll have to order as an add-on. Even with an add on, it's still cheaper than many other ramen places. There was only one person working at the front and serving food and she's very nice, so be patient. Check in on Yelp for a free mộc ice cream - they have lots of flavors to choose from.

My first time wasn't too memorable and the second time I got the ultra spicy veggie ramen and it was so spicy I cried (which is good haha i have very high spice tolerance so I'm glad I found a spot that can do truly spicy). This time, I got the deluxe Chicken Paitan DX Ramen (the one that comes with the chicken leg). Chicken Paitan DX Ramen: A sweet soy glazed chicken leg is served on a hot sizzling plate with a small bed of bean sprouts marinating in the sauce. The sauce is a sticky, sweet soy sauce that is so delicious. The chicken leg itself is tender, juicy, and has a great skin texture. The skin soaks up the sauce so well and even has some nice charred bits that add to the flavor and complexity of the dish. The ramen itself was great too. A creamy rich chicken broth. I got the spicy level, so one level under the top spice level and it was perfect. Not unbearably spicy, but had a really nice underlying kick. The noodles are a thin yet snappy noodle so it made it easy to eat. I love the corn and mushroom spirals too! Overall, if you come based on this review, make sure to get the chicken paitan dx ramen. There are only 15 served in a day but ask them if they have it because I was able to get one on a Monday night at around 8PM! It's a nice space, good for a date or even a casual hangout. They have tables to accomodate parties of 1, 2, 4, and possibly 6.

The flavors were really good and better than the MI-SO-HOT. The only complaint about the broth was that it wasn't warm or hot. The noodles were bouncy and thick like udon, which I loved. They only gave one slice of chashu, which was disappointing, so I'm glad we added the extra Goma Pork/Sesame Seasoned Ground Pork ($2.50) and Naruto Maki ($1.50). Ramen came with all the veggies like grilled Chinese broccoli, tofu, sweet corn, marinated shiitake mushrooms, red onions and negi. Yakisoba noodles had the Stir-fried noodles tossed with cabbage, scallion, carrot, marinated shiitake mushrooms, and fragrant negi in a savory house sauce. It was good if you like this type of noodles. Austin roll had Smoked tempeh, tempura tofu, jalapeño, pickles. And on the to Avocado, roasted garlic oil, tempura flakes, smoked paprika, teriyaki.
