We had an amazing experience, the service from Sean was truly above and beyond! We celebrated my partner's bday and he loves steak so I chose this place. Glad that I did since we both had an amazing time. Everything was so delicious and though not in the picture, their clam chowder is truly amazing. Both steaks were amazing and we were also brought multiple options of sauces to them in including their own A1 sauce! I'd love to come back here again soon! The ambiance was very comfortable and almost soothing in a way, really had a great experience overall!

The service is over the top good. I started my birthday dinner with a perfectly made Cosmo and then we ordered a bottle of wine. We had a scallops appetizer that was unbelievable. I still talk about it. For mains my hubby got the skirt steak which he loved. I got the combo Prime Filet and the American Wagyu filet. Both were delicious but I think I preferred the Prime. Baked potatoes were perfect. I was too full for dessert but our server brought out a creme brulee to celebrate my birthday. It was a perfect ending to a great dinner! We will be back on our next visit to Seattle.

Came here to say for a company dinner and everything was amazing. I genuinely got so greedy and ate so much food because everything was cooked perfectly and the service was amazing! My favorite dessert was the cheescake.

This is a great place in Pioneer Square for happy hour. Its bar area is very large and you maybe able to find a few seats together, recommend coming in small groups. The happy hour menu is simple but has a variety of offerings. The food quality is high and prices were very fair. The service was quick and friendly. I highly recommend for happy hour. Looking forward to returning for a classy dinner experience.

Happy hour only. Old school place with a great charm. Drinks are smooth and happy hour food is a good value. Check out the restrooms as there'sthe daily news papers

Wow, if I could rate this restaurant 10 stars I would! I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday here and truly had the best experience. Everything was exceptional (the wonderful service, the ambiance, and of course the food), everything was top notch!Highly recommended, especially for a special occasion!!

Got into Seattle at night, and this was the place we came to for dinner. The Metropolitan Grill has that old-school vibe, where they can check your coats right when you walk in! I haven't seen this for a while unless I was on the East coast, so to see it in Seattle I thought it was pretty nice. The servers are dressed like back in the days with nicely black suits and just a polished look. How I wish I lived back in the day! The food here is divine and I would suggest this place to everyone, if you want a delicious steak and a nice baked potato this place is the one. The vibe is legit and they are good, there aren't that many places like this around and I wish they had something like this in Los Angeles. It has been a long time since I have had a really good steak done right. This one was done perfectly rare and delicious! Yum, thank you for making this night so enjoyable for all of us!

It was almost good until I realized the restaurant owner sees themselves as royalty and their workers as peasants.

I don't care how good your food is if you add a 20% service charge on top of the tip. We as customers cannot continue to let businesses get away with this. Unfortunately, most of the people who go to steakhouses like this are elitists who don't have the mentality to care about the people serving them. I encourage everybody in the Seattle area to stand up to greed by not giving your business to scams like Metropolitan Grill. EDIT: To the business owner who replied - Of course taking more money from customers to give to your servers helps your servers make more money. That's basic math. I'm just saying that you should be the one giving them more money. Not us. Take it out of your own pocket. They're your employees.

Everything went very well, we had a delightful waitress. It was my birthday celebration and we got an intimate booth close to the front but cut off from everyone. They were busy as it was a Saturday, and we sat down probably 20 min after our reservation. Drinks were great and food was delicious. I got a rib eye and she got the special. We got Mac n cheese, baked potatoe, asparagus, and mushrooms. Steak was cooked exactly how I ordered, Mac and cheese was great and mushrooms were perfect with the steak. Asparagus was cooked really well but just wasn't our thing. He fish dish was well put together but was dry for her taste, flavor and everything was great just a tad over done we felt. IMPORTANT: They do have a 20% surcharge that is split with the kitchen and server. So if you don't add to it, your server only gets 10% tip if I remember right. I personally wish restaurants would just raise their prices to accommodate the % surcharge instead of adding it at the end. You might as well charge food separate and put those prices in the menu, and then add 40% for labor. It's really no different. All in all I recommend.

I was in town for a quick work trip and needed a quick bite to eat. I ordered their burger on happy hour and it did not disappoint! I wasn't expecting to get such a large meal, I almost couldn't finish it! The burger was cooked well, tasted great and the jojos were nice touch as well. Next time I go back I'll get a steak

Server and food were lovely. Appreciated the extensive wine list. However, terribly rude hostess ruined the experience.

Metropolitan Grill is in my top 3 most reliable American fine dining restaurant in the greater Seattle area. I have been here numerous times over the last two decades for various reasons and occasions and I cannot say I had even one subpar experience. Whether it is for casual happy hour in the bar area, business lunch/dinner, large group event, brunch before the Seahawks game, their service and food preparation have always been top notch. It's such a safe choice too. They literally have something for everyone and can accommodate pretty much any food restrictions you can think of. They also have a great wine and whisky list and offer some beer on tap as well. The atmosphere is not casual per se but you do not need to dress to come here. I was here a few times severely underdressed but I was always treated with respect by all the staff. Highly recommended!

Ask the Community - Metropolitan Grill

They still got happy hour?

They don't. I miss it. :(

What does the "service charge" include and how much? What about a gratuity for the waiters and buspersons?

The restaurant has an explanation of the service charge on their webpage https://www.themetropolitangrill.com/our-service-charge/ (At the bottom of the Menu tab). FYI, Indeed.com lists the average salary for a server at the Met as $30.86 an hour.

Is this location sketchy?

No, we parked on the street and didn't run into anyone concerning while walking to and from the restaurant.

Can someone post the kids menu? Or can they make just pasta?

I was looking over their menu and noticed they have side of 4 cheese mac and cheese. They are focused on service so I bet they can make you something. But, I didn't see a kids menu.

What are the vegan dishes available?

This is a meat-centric place but I did see a vegan Bolognese and a couple of vegan salads on the menu. But, maybe the smell of charred meats might not be too appetizing for a vegan.

Is this a kid friendly place for say an early dinner, do they have a children's menu. Kids 8&9?

I would say no. I have never seen kids there. Happy Hour is early and it gets packed with business folks. It's loud, and old school cocktail and steakhouse vibe, and I'd encourage you to consider other, more kid friendly spots near Pike Place Market.

Would they make me bananas foster if I'm sitting in the bar area?

If this place would do something to serve a customer, they would. They do such a beautiful job at it. I believe that you can get the full menu in the bar. If there is any place that can or would do anything, it would be them.

Is there any parking nearby or a reliable place to find a parking spot?

There is street parking and valet is $10.

What is the dress attire to this restaurant?

Seattle dress code. People go in formal, business casual, and jeans. I work nearby and have been there for lunch, happy hour, and dinner. Whatever makes you comfortable.

I was recommended two drinks out of the options I had given my bartender. The first was Santiago and saints. It was highly recommended and for good reason. It hit the spot after a humid day and was a refreshing start to my evening. Well balanced, bright, and cucumbery! The second drink I had was the espresso martini and this one was perfectly balanced and creamy! Would definitely come back. The only downside to the place is the price of cocktails. We shared a salad, the steak arepa, and the pork arepa. The salad they had on the menu wasn't updated but they had a summer salad with watermelon and it was refreshing and great! The arepas tasted great but were pretty heavy, I think probably because of the sauce. But there wasn't really any way to avoid the sauce. Even splitting amongst three people it was a lot- I think it was still good to try, I liked the steak more than the pork, but I would've only ordered one in the future.
