This is a great place to eat in St.Augustine. The portions are big though even the kids is the size of an adult plate.The grits and home style fries are incredible. It's located near the beach but not on the beach. Overall it's a great family diner that is one of my favorites! read more

AHHHHHMazing! We were driving home from St Augustine to Orlando and we knew the wait was long but looked awesome. I had the avocado toast and eggs and my husband had the pancakes, eggs, hash browns and who knows what else. There was so much food. It was so good and wow! super fast! I couldn't believe how fast it was. We ended up sitting at the barstools and I kept telling the cooks they were like a well oiled machine. I will go to the one near us (had no clue we have one in Orlando) and I will most likely try something new because it all looks so good:) read more

Quite dirty, and the food is barely mediocre. I went here for lunch, and was extremely disappointed. After reading the good reviews, I had high hopes. I've been to other locations the food is always good and the portions are great. My problem with them are their noisy dining rooms. At St Augustine there is no escape outdoors, listening to traffic inhaling motor fumes, and cigarettes. Not an enjoyable dining experience. Food is good recommend takeout only... read more

Great wait staff, short wait on a Sunday afternoon about 1 p.m. they were very busy, but waitress answered our questions, made a couple suggestions and we ordered. Not a long wait considering how busy they were. Husband enjoyed his sandwich but I wasn't impressed with my meal. Guess it didn't taste as I imagined it would so wouldn't order again ( eggs Benedict with Crabcake). I would return but order something different. read more

Absolutely a wonderful place for breakfast or brunch....well any time of day. The amount of food, the quality of food, the service are all worth more than you pay! I'm a burgers and steak type of person. Immediately after checking out reviews and prices this seemed something new and cool to try out. I ordered the Bold City Burger without any substitutions, it had fried jalapeños, onions, bacon, sausage, garlic aioli. Half of these ingredients never would've thought to try out on a burger and it was the best decision ever. I tried something out of the box and it succeed. I completed the meal with a side of onion rings which were delicious. Hoping to go again to try the breakfast, if it's anything like the lunch, then I know it would be worth the visit. read more

I would like to give this restaurant four and a half stars. We had a wonderful experience tonight! First of all, this was my third visit to a Metro Diner but first time for dinner. Every visit has been remarkable - in a good way! Tonight I ordered the chicken pot pie with homemade biscuit crust and hubby ordered the pot roast. Hubby loved the pot roast. He said the meat was very tender and the carrots were cooked like he liked them - without any bite to them. Mashed potatoes were good too. The only exception was he felt he wanted more gravy for the meat. My chicken pot pie it was an ample serving and was very creamy and tasty. The biscuit crust was perfect! Not too thick and overpowering but not too thin either. I really enjoyed that pot pie and highly recommend it! The reason for the half star deduction is because they do not serve alcohol. However, You are allowed to bring your own into the restaurant! I absolutely loved that! Hubby brought his craft beer in a growler and I brought my vodka in a flask with a little bottle of tonic water. You cannot beat the price. Each of our dishes were under $10 apiece. We have not left a restaurant paying that little amount of money in a very long time. We are both looking forward to returning! read more

I am here in St Augustine for business. Whenever I am here I look for Minorcan Clam Chowder which is one of my favorite soups! I just had my 4th bowl in 3 days and it was by far my FAVORITE! Yes, here at Metro Diner! It was really delicious! Just the right amount of spices and lots of cLams! And not filled with tons of potatoes! Also had the cole slaw which was exactly the perfect consistency of mayo and cabbage. And my server Elana was perfectly attentive and friendly. The menu is quite extensive! My family loves the eggs benedict here in fact we went there for dinner and they ordered it. The staff is friendly and attentive to their customers. It is a big place but at times it is full. There are tables and booths and booths in a side room too. I always get eggs, hash browns and bacon extra crispy and it does come out right.
