But we did not let that deter us and we went in and used the electronic device to get us on a waiting list. We were told 15 minutes, but we waited no more than 10. I am going to take into consideration the massive crowd, and say that our food and drink came in very reasonable time considering. We were not in a hurry, and kind of enjoy the bustle and the people. Our waitress was exceedingly friendly, very helpful and very accommodating. My friend and I each got a fancy Sunday brunch cocktail. Mine was strawberry, and it was delicious. She loved hers as well, she got the grapefruit one. They were lovely to look at and delicious and refreshing. A very fun way to start our Sunday morning. We both ordered the California club sandwich and I asked for gluten-free bread. The sandwich was delicious and the gluten-free bread was good. If you know about gluten-free bread and the heartache of searching for a decent slice, then you'll appreciate this bread on your sandwich. I got french fries which seems I have to order every single time even as I contemplate the healthier side choices. They were great, hot, fresh, crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. My friend got a side salad which she was happy with, obviously far more willpower than I have. She was not happy with the dressing she had chosen and the waitress happily brought her a different one. While we were there, I noticed everybody was working so hard and the customers all around us seem to be very much enjoying themselves. I don't know if this should really be relevant in my review but there was a group of four people who were sat down in a table nearby who upon being seated asked the waitress immediately if they could get their food quickly and she told them that it probably would not be as fast as they would like it. At which point they got up and left. The waitress seemed to feel bad about that, but when the manager came over to investigate, he simply took it in stride and then started to clean the table off for the next group. My friend and I had to wonder who would come into such a bustling and packed restaurant and think that they were going to get served especially fast. Another thing about we noticed about the manager is that he seemed very much hands-on and all over the place in the restaurant. He was very friendly when we looked at the check-in device and wondered what we were doing ~ he made jokes that made us feel less Luddite like. He bussed tables and sat people, and checked on things, and generally looked like the kind of manager of that Gordon Ramsay would appreciate. The menu has something for everybody! And some very exciting options that we have to go back and experience. Lots of add-ons for everything, a huge variety of choices. My sister-in-law had recommended the avocado toast, and I was tempted. I was also tempted by the biscuit and gravy and the eggs Benedict, which are hard for me to resist at brunch. but I reasonably only ordered one meal for me. It's been a long review, but I have to say the meal really was that good and the whole experience was very enjoyable. Not only will I be going back but, I will be recommending it, wholeheartedly, to everybody. Thanks for a great meal!

I didn't say anything because we were in rush to hit the road for a long ride home, but they were delicious. My husband and I came into town for my grandsons birthday and Fathers Day weekend. My son and dauhter in law raved about the food at Metro as they ate there quite frequently, so we chose this for our Fathers Day breakfast. We arrived shortly after 8 the place was not too badly packed. We had a party of 14. We also called ahead. We waited PATIENTLY for almost an hour while they seated people ahead of us. All this time they could have seated us in different areas across from one another, but we were completely overlooked! The hostess continually told us we were at the top of the list and would be seated shortly. Instead another large party was seated ahead of us. We were very upset and voiced our irritation and the short rude guy who claimed he was the OWNER but dont know if he was actually manager/owner was nothing but completely rude and obnoxious to us. He had ZERO customer service, none and made no effort to make it right whatsoever!!!!. Instead of offering to do something for our wasted time and frustration watching everyone who walked in AFTER us be seated he told us to leave. Wow! This was the most unorganized establishment I have ever encountered. I have never been treated so terribly at a restaurant in my life!!! We will never come back when we are in Savannah and will most definitely not recommend to my family and friends. I intend on sharing this with the over 2k facebook friends I have as well as all of my social media as I wouldnt want this to happen to anyone else!!!!The owner/manager treated us horribly, completely unacceptable!! This was a horrible experience!!!!! read more

Since I found out about Metro Diner, I have never been more impress with service, and the smiles I have received. I have met the Owner Dennis and he is one of the most hard working men I have ever seen. I can not say enough about the food. More than enough, normally I bring supper home, but I have decided to try and cut back. As I mention the food is superb. Today I asked for a baked potato. I was surprise to learn this food is not offered. I wish they would add this item. Parking is also a problem. This is not their fault. I wish Tanger Outlet would allow more Handicap parking. When we went to say hello to the bartender, the first thing we were told was that we needed to order soon because the kitchen closed at 11. Then our server greeted us by going through everything they were out of, which unfortunately felt like half the menu. Our group still ordered and made the best of it, but the way the experience started definitely took away from it. I completely understand that we arrived late and they were getting ready to close, but maybe instead of starting with "here's what we don't have," it could be presented as, "Since it's late and we're getting close to closing, let me tell you what we still have available." Same situation, but a much more welcoming experience. Overall, the service was okay and the atmosphere inside looked fun. I might give it another try at a different time, but I personally wouldn't choose the outdoor seating again.

Once we finally got seated, though, our server took care of all 14 of us SO efficiently. He was absolutely running around doing his best! The vibes inside were really cool, too. We were seated in a corner area where we could see people coming in and out and watch everyone walking by outside the window. I honestly don't even think my picture does justice to how much food comes with it. Surprisingly, the fries were really good, too. But the chicken was what really impressed me. Sometimes when you order grilled chicken, it can be super dry, but this chicken was SO tender and juicy. There wasn't a single tough or dry spot. I was full after eating half of the sandwich, but I almost ate the entire thing because I genuinely could not stop eating it! I will absolutely be back here the next time I'm in Savannah!
