Delicious! I had the shrimp platter. It came with lots of large breaded shrimp! My husband had the low country shrimp boil and keeps raving about how good it was! My mom had the burger, which was huge and had great seasoning on it. Service was a little slow but it looked like not many people were working behind the counter. We walked in right when it opened and we had to seat ourselves which was fine. BUT why was it difficult to find a table that was clean and wiped down when you just opened. When we found one that was somewhat decent we still had to ask for debris to be cleaned off. We only came for oysters bur we added the crab balls. Oyster were heartier than any I have ever seen and I loved that! Most places charge you for juat a few and they are the smallest oysters you have ever seen. My ONLY negative feedback is less cheese which would have made them perfect. There was a mountain of cheese. Way too much. We also had a side salad...well someone in this kirchen is obsessed with cheese because the salad was more like a plate of grated cheese and crotons, then add lettuce as an afterthought lol. Literally the most cheese I have EVER had on a side salad. It was wild. We laughed about that for A FULL.DAY! Crab balls were just okay. Didn't love them and didn't hate them. As bad as this review sounds, and after going to other restaurants in Savannah, I would prob go back for the oysters and ask them to lesson the cheese. Uhmmmmmmmm to be completely honest Bahama Bob's really threw me for a loop. The name matches the homely decor and the menu tried to compete but fell short overall to me. They have four pool tables, a juke box and the vibe was really laid back. I tried the charbroiled oysters, peal and eat shrimp, a order of fries and the seafood pasta (minus the fish because who TF puts talapia on their menu or in their pasta?). The seafood pasta was simply their shrimp Alfredo mixed with a little marinara (thus turning the sauce pink) In my humble opinion don't call it a seafood pasta when the crab is literally no where to be found. I dug through it for awhile before I asked my server about it and she said it's blended up in the sauce(??) my mind was blown because even the taste of crab was faint to none. But, I didn't need to add any seasoning because the flavor wasn't bad, just one level and it's simply advertised wrong. Nothing was memorable really but my bartender/server Becky (she was amazing all around the board) I wish I could give her this review because it would've definitely been 5-stars! Stumbled on this place while traveling and thought we were going to get Caribbean food but instead found a very good seafood bar and grill. We shared the Low Country Boil and it was so good that we made it a point to stop overnight here again on our way home so we could go back!! I give it three stars only because it's not a very inviting layout inside. They need to some updating and it's pretty tacky inside. BUT, I will add that the service was great. This place needs lots of improvement: starting with the booth seating which sinks down like its over 50 yrs old; The server recommended, grilled oysters, very nasty and to charred, crab dip that was barely luke warm as if they zapped it in the microwave and all you could taste was cheese, then the Gumbo soup - pure nasty and taste like water. Our total for 3 items and 2 drinks totaled $64.01 and we didn't even eat but 3 of the 12 oysters, 2 bites of soup and 2 bites of crab dip. This place would be spectacular if it wasn't for the bad service. I don't think they are intentionally trying to provide bad service. Our waitress was really nice but she was overwhelmingly busy all night! The table assignment was unorganized and I honestly think she forgot about us. On top of that... the food was just OK. We ordered the extravaganza platter. The shrimp was very good but everything else was just alright. The cocktails were good too. That's the reason for the 2 star rating. Sorry there is only one person that can make drinks and take orders. 3 other employees working but 2 of them can only clean off tables.The owner wonders around aimlessly and won't wait on paying customers. Some discord between management and employees- they seem depressed and angry- you can feel it.Tired of the "we are short staffed shit" manage the employee's and stop doing everything yourself! Just ate the most delicious crab, shrimp, sausage, corn, potato broil!!! My husband and I shared the low country broil and snow crab platter broil. We are truck drivers and accidentally stumbled into this place last year, and were pleasantly surprised. Today we were initially apprehensive as the place is not glorious in looks and style, it's truly a hole in the wall type of place. However, we got the most authentic broil cuisine we've had across the country with the most exceptional service. Walk away!! Don't even go in!! This was our first and last visit to the establishment. I don't know if it is a restaurant or bar. It has tables/booths in the front with a bar at the side and pool tables/dart boards in the back. Our server was a short, plump blonde with a crappy attitude. I asked what did she recommend and she said "oh everything we serve is great". Ummmm...thanks for nothing. She then came to take our order and when my mom hesitated for a second she said " hang on, I"ll be back". She then went and took the order at another table. She went to put in their order (maybe her attitude sucked there too) because before she was done, they left. We ordered and my chicken Alfredo ( I could have made better at home) came out in roughly 10 minutes. My mom got her talapia about 10 minutes later. The fish was hot but the fries were cold and greasy. Once the food was out, our server must have swallowed a gallon of sugar because we became "my loves" every time she came to the table....oh wait....it was going to be tip time soon. Wanted seafood for our Anniversary... This place is #2 on best places for seafood according to TripAdvisor and now we know why. It's was our 1st time here and we didn't regret it. My husband and I came to Savannah for our first time. We needed a weekend getaway bad. We were looking up places to eat for out first supper here. Saw Bahama Bob's listed on Google when searching. Pictured food and the inside made us say sure why not? When we got there it was hopping! The waitress said just go ahead and seat yourself. Sure. I asked for a blue and fruity alcoholic drink and she looked surprised that I didn't say something specific, but she went with it. She gave me a blue Marijuana slushy drink. It was delicious! We both ordered the low country boil. Fantastic! Seasoned just right. Not too little or too much seasoning. The music was 90's through early 2000's pop, hip hop and R&B. I was dancing in my seat. Passing through on the way home from dropping Kate at summer camp, we found ourselves at this hole-in-the-wall in Pooler, Georgia. With two small kids remaining, I didn't want to wait in line at another outlet mall restaurant and ended up here by default. No line and no wait. Seated quickly by a friendly (I forgot her name) server, we even got to meet "Bahama Bob" as he made his way through the restaurant introducing himself to patrons. Friendly man who quit another business to take a chance at starting a restaurant. Big chance this older gentleman took. Snow crab, a bucket of oysters, several baskets of shrimp, and chicken breast with french fries on our lunch menu. All cooked right and no complaints from the kids. Clean establishment and friendly staff. Plenty of parking and very close to Interstate 95 in Pooler. The portion was ridiculous for the price. I ordered the two seafood fried special of oysters and shrimp. I received 5 heavily breaded shrimp and 5 oysters. The mixed veggies I ordered had to be sent back because it came out ice cold.. the daiquiri was gritty and full of ice. I have no idea why certain dishes attached to this restaurant looked so plentiful but that was not the case for me.. I cant say I would return for drinks because that wasnt impressive as well. It's a dive bar first and foremost, once you get that wrapped around your head had fun and enjoy good food , strong drinks and when I went good music. It was karaoke night on a Friday.
