Perfect stop on our way to the airport. Service was fantastic. Food was great. Well seasoned and made fresh. We started with some French Onion Soup and the Slamming Shrimp appetizer--both were delicious. For mains I had the Black & Blue Chicken Sandwich and my guy had the Caddy Melt. Both were cooked perfectly and scrumptious.

What a great find this restaurant was. We had been in the car 9 hours and needed a relaxing calm place, Sharon our server was amazing! She recommended the seafood special, it was perfect. Cosmo was the best I've had had in a long time. We will be back!!

I haven't been to Sam Snead's in awhile but a Birthday Celebration brought me back! It's a nice setup but definitely a casual vibe. It was September and still hot out but the air was blasting to the point everyone was going to the car for a jacket. We asked our server and they eventually turned it down. My nose started running... The menu has alot of variety and from.what I hear you can't go wrong. I ordered a side Cesar Salad and the Flatbread. I can be very indecisive so being able to do 1/2 Chicken & 1/2 Steak! I enjoyed my meal and I had enough flatbread to take home for a snack! Everyone in the party reported enjoying their food and drinks! Our server was very attentive and ensured we were taken care of! I will return & you should give it a try!!!!

The food was good. The server was attentive. It was a little too dark for liking but otherwise I did like the George bush signed pictures.

Located close to the airport, Sam Snead's Tavern is always consistent and the food is delicious. Perfect for a business meeting, date night, or place to meet friends. The crowd is typically a tad older. They have a decent sized menu. I love their French onion soup. The flatbreads are massive! You can't go wrong-- they're all delicious. The sandwich's and burgers are also a good choice. The steaks and juicy and typically served with smashed potatoes. The only odd menu item is the chicken Marsala, it's delicious but don't expect a traditional Italian-style Marsala.

My wife and I love this place. We started off with drinks from the bar. My wife got a smoky Manhattan, and it was served with a lid on. When she removed the lid, the smoke rose from the drink. Really cool! (That made my Rum and Coke look boring. But it was as good, though!). For dinner, I had the Chicken Tenders dinner, which was really tasty. It came with my choice of two sides, so I selected mashed redskin potatoes, and some cole slaw. My wife opted for the Tavern Flatbread. She couldn't decide if she wanted Steak or Spicy Shrimp, so our server suggested that she order it half and half. Steak on one side, and spicy shrimp on the other! That's exactly what she did and she loved it! Food and service here is great, and it's a very pleasant atmosphere.

    French Tavern Onion Soup

French onion soup is seriously AMAZING! Make sure you order one. Also, kids grilled cheese was so good too. Crispy and fresh. My husband and I ordered burgers and I have to say they were delicious. The only thing I have to say is the fries aren't to die for but that's doesn't mean they deserve a lesser star for it. They weren't too hot or crispy. Just okay. But the ambiance is threat, bathrooms are super clean, sweet iced tea is great, and prices were also reasonable. Would definitely come back if we're ever back out that way! Great location too!

Well located for a beer call after work, a celebration, a meal just passing through , a meal before or after flights or a round of golf. Service (most recently by Lisa) is excellent, and the location nicely decorated with a variety of seating options. Indoor, outdoor, bar, high tops, tables, booths. Food is great, always tasty with something for everyone

2.5 rating. Date 4/4/24 Lovely atmosphere, and they were busy. Our waiter Paul 3.5 stars outta 5, overall great personality but lacked detail towards table, ie refills etc. Also, being the specific person I am, I asked if the crab cakes have a lot of bread. His response, no. Crab cakes arrive, and I was playing find the crab meat. Shared this with him, and he stated he would let the kitchen know. Well, alright then.

    Ribeye Steak

Stopped by on a Thursday around 7:30. Located right off the highway and parking was easy. Only waited about 5 minutes for a table for 3. This place has a typical old school Steakhouse vibe. Lots of dark wood and quiet conversations. Our waitress was amazing. Friendly but not annoying and she had answers to all of our questions. Most importantly, she got all of our orders right. I ordered the ribeye steak (medium). Mashed potatoes and garlic green beans came with the steak and a house salad came out before. The homemade balsamic dressing was really good. Everything we ordered came out perfect and tasted better than I expected. Blackened Magi Mahi was great, my son's chicken tenders were really good from what I heard. Now for the important question. Will I go back there? Yup! Can't believe I almost went to Texas Roadhouse across the road if it weren't for the 60 minute wait. So glad I didn't make that mistake.

    Tanya J.

This place is just okay. It definitely was probably once the talk of the town, but it feels more like a neighborhood bar and grill with Savannah food prices. Good theme everywhere, so if you're into that, you'll likely geek out! The blackened mahi wasn't bad. I asked for the sauce on the side, and the spice would taste better with the grilled mahi. My partner got the ribeye and wasn't impressed, BUT the mashed potatoes were delicious! Especially with the black peppercorn sauce. Drinks weren't bad, and staff was lovely. The place would do well with a deep clean (there's carpet throughout). I could see us going back, but it would be our first choice.

For appetizers, we went with the focaccia and the crispy brussel sprouts. Both were AMAZING! I always love bread to start a meal. And the Brussels were nice and soaked in balsamic glaze, which maybe diminished the "crispy" in the title... but I didn't mind because they were delicious. For our entrees, we went with the gnocchi and the catfish served over grits. I would say the standout was the catfish. The gnocchi was good, but not as good as the other dishes we had. Been here for both dinner and lunch. All this said, I think my approach to this review is comprehensive. With regard to food, I think they have a decent (not expansive) selection of food, which I think lends itself to quality. They do most things really well. This said, I do think there is inconsistency based on staff at the restaurant. On one occasion they have accommodated a request, and on another I was denied the exact same request. I found this frustrating. On one occasion I've also seen management talk down to staff here, which is a big no no for me. All people (especially staff) are due respect and this rubbed me the wrong way. This was an isolated incident but it definitely made my dining experience uncomfortable. Especially because I was getting excellent service from the server!!! I've always had quality service from servers here. In the future, I would come to Rhett for convenience as a hotel guest (the hotel is lovely), but would likely not spend my money if I wasn't staying at the hotel. Overall- it's good food, decent ambiance... but there are soooo many good options in Savannah. You have to be exceptional to stand out in that city.

The main reason I specifically went to Vic's was for the She Crab Soup I was told I had to try. I ordered that and a salad. It was hot and hot soup didn't sound the best but it was delicous, just as it was promised to be. The salad was light and helped cool down the heat of the day. Credit where it's due on the space, too -- the ambiance is genuinely great. Warm, candle-lit dining room, an open kitchen, a well-stocked bar, and a covered patio that had a real buzz to it. It's a spot that looks and feels like somewhere you want to be, which is exactly why I'd give the kitchen another shot based on how the owner runs this place. --- Original review (2 stars): Disappointing birthday dinner. Came in for my birthday and left underwhelmed. Our server Troy was the one bright spot -- professional and attentive all night. Caesar salad: Several bitter pieces of lettuce, and no black pepper offered or available. Faroe Island salmon: Overly buttery like it had been sitting under a heat lamp. The shishito cream sauce was way too acidic -- tasted like uncooked wine or vinegar. Crispy rice cakes were bland and a strange pairing (rice blocks with salmon?). The baby bok choy was decent until the sauce drowned it out. Braised beef short rib: Tender but flavorless. The mashed potatoes tasted old, not fresh that evening. To top it off, my wife had arranged ahead of time for the birthday dessert to be brought out -- the message never reached Troy, so that moment never happened. Troy deserved better than what the kitchen sent out.
